When can writing be used as an instrument of justice, a method of holding crime within society to account, a deliverance of punishment? A survey of modern literature does not endow its reader with much hope concerning those platitudes so often touted about the power of writing. But writing has changed the world and confronted injustice in the past.

On the 22nd of April 2026, Mark Butler and the Albanese Government announced plans to cut spending for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), while the military budget is expected to inflate by 3 per cent.
