Successful Deployment of MudRAZE™ Scrubbing Spacer Technology for Improved Cement Placement in a High-Temperature Liner Cementing Operation PAK

During a recent open-hole liner cementing operation in the Lower Indus Basin, Pakistan, MudRAZE™ scrubbing spacer technology was deployed in a high-temperature well environment. The well presented multiple drilling and cementing challenges, including significant mud losses, enlarged borehole sections resulting from washouts, and irregular wellbore geometry. This marked the first application of MudRAZE™ technology in Pakistan under well conditions exceeding 300°F.

Key elements contributing to the operation's success included:

MudRAZE™ scrubbing spacer technology for enhanced mud removal and improved casing surface cleaning prior to cement placement.

The CemSEAL slurry system, featuring expandable and flexible properties designed to support long-term zonal isolation.

A Well Wash pre-flush to promote turbulent flow and improve the removal of residual mud from enlarged sections and stagnant zones.

The combined application of Well Wash and MudRAZE™ improved mud displacement efficiency and cement placement quality despite severe washouts and suboptimal casing centralization. Post-job cement evaluation logs indicated good cement coverage across most of the open-hole interval, and effective fluid-loss control was maintained throughout the cementing operation.

Successful Coiled Tubing Fishing Operations for the Recovery of Downhole Equipment Under Complex Well Conditions

SPRINT successfully executed two coiled tubing fishing operations under challenging downhole conditions involving restricted access to fish profiles, debris accumulation, and multiple mechanical obstructions. One operation involved retrieving multiple slickline fish assemblies and a stuck separation sleeve, while the second required recovering a stuck jet pump.

The operations utilized a combination of specialized Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) configurations, advanced fishing techniques, and chemical solutions, including organic solvent cleanout fluids and friction reducers, to restore access to fish profiles and improve retrieval efficiency.

Key contributors to the operations' success included:

Deployment of advanced coiled tubing fishing techniques for the recovery of slickline assemblies and a stuck jet pump under restricted wellbore conditions.

Application of customized fishing tools and engineered BHA designs to overcome mechanical restrictions and achieve positive engagement with fish profiles.

Use of chemical treatment solutions to improve wellbore accessibility and support efficient fishing operations.

Both operations achieved complete recovery of the targeted downhole equipment without requiring workover rig intervention. This approach reduced operational downtime and generated significant cost savings by eliminating the need for a workover rig.

These results demonstrate the effectiveness of integrating mechanical intervention methods with chemical treatment solutions to address complex downhole fishing challenges.

Management of Change (MOC):

Managing Change the Right Way

In our dynamic industry, change is inevitable. Processes are improved, equipment is modified, organizational structures evolve, and operational plans are adjusted to meet business and client requirements. While these changes often drive improvement, they can also introduce new risks if not properly controlled.

To ensure changes are implemented safely and effectively, SPRINT follows a structured MOC process to evaluate, review, approve, communicate, and monitor changes before implementation. Whether temporary or permanent, MOC ensures that potential impacts on safety, service quality, operations, asset integrity, and regulatory compliance are properly assessed and controlled.

How Does It Work?

When a need for change is identified, employees can initiate an MOC through the QHSE Management System

The digital MOC form captures key information including the nature of the change, justification, duration, affected activity, potential hazards, impacts, required controls, responsible department, and approval requirements.

This information enables management to evaluate risks, define mitigation measures, and determine whether the proposed change can be safely implemented. Once reviewed and approved by the appropriate authority, the change is communicated to affected personnel and implemented in a controlled manner.

Following implementation, the effectiveness of the change is verified to ensure objectives have been achieved and risks remain controlled before the MOC is formally closed.

The workflow of the process is provided here:

Why is MOC Important?

The MOC process helps to:

Identify and assess risks before implementation

Protect personnel, assets, and the environment

Maintain service quality and operational reliability

Ensure compliance with client, regulatory, and company requirements

Strengthen communication and accountability across departments

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

How long have you been working in the oil field?

I have been working in the oil and gas industry for almost 10 years, since I joined Sprint. 1

2

How has your career progressed since joining Sprint?

I never expected my career to grow this much at Sprint. As one of the first female employees, I thought it would be challenging to prove myself in a male-dominated industry. However, Sprint provided a supportive environment and equal opportunities for growth. Today, I am working as an HR System and Process Lead. I used to think that staying with the same company for 10 years might slow down my career, as that is often what happens to many people. However, my experience has been the opposite. I have never felt stagnant or bored because every new role has brought new learning opportunities and challenges.

What excites me most is discovering new skills and capabilities within myself that I never knew I had. Every step of my journey at Sprint has helped me grow both professionally and personally.

4

What do you find most rewarding about your role?

The most rewarding is being part of the HR team. Why? That’s because before being an HR, I am an employee first. Because of this, I understand how important it is for employees to feel supported and valued.

I have seen how the company and the HR team work hard to address employee needs, develop policies that protect employees' interests, regularly assess the company's market position, and organize events and recognition programs for outstanding employees and long-service awardees. The company also keeps employees informed through quarterly magazines and other communication initiatives.

Being involved in these efforts is very rewarding because I know that I am contributing to initiatives that positively impact employees. It also allows me to see firsthand how much the company values and supports its people.

Can you share your most memorable experience while working at Sprint? 5

One of my most memorable experiences was seeing how Sprint supported and protected its employees during the pandemic and other challenging situations. The company's commitment to employee safety and well-being left a lasting impression on me.

What advice would you offer to employees, particularly those working in the Oil & Gas industry? 6

3

How does working at Sprint compare to your experience with other companies?

Most of my career has been with Sprint, but what makes it different is the sense of inclusion, recognition, and support. While there are challenges and work pressures like any other company, Sprint provides employees with stability, opportunities, and a clear career path, which is why many employees stay for years.

My advice is for everyone: don't work just within the box; try to expand your horizon. Take initiative and be creative. Do not allow yourself to become stagnant in one place. Don't wait for your supervisor or manager to give you instructions. Know your responsibilities by heart and allow yourself to discover your own strengths. Remember that only you can truly know your limitations and overcome them.

Your manager/supervisor is only there to guide you, but only you can create your own path. Don't wait for someone else to pave the way for you, do it yourself. Only then will you realize how much more you can achieve.

BEST SELLER BOOKS TO READ

Good to Great

Good to Great explores why some companies make the leap from being merely good to achieving sustained greatness, while others never do. Based on years of research, Jim Collins identifies the key factors that distinguish exceptional organizations. He introduces the concept of Level 5 Leadership, where humble yet determined leaders put the company's success above personal recognition. The book also emphasizes hiring the right people before deciding on strategy, encouraging organizations to "get the right people on the bus." Collins highlights the importance of focusing on what an organization can be the best at, what drives its economic engine, and what its people are passionate about—known as the Hedgehog Concept. Another major lesson is that lasting success comes from disciplined people, disciplined thinking, and disciplined action, rather than dramatic changes or quick wins. Overall, the book teaches that greatness is built through consistent effort, clear direction, strong leadership, and a culture of excellence over time.
