Welcome! !

March usually signals the arrival of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere, but after two months of relentless rain, it hasn’t quite felt like it yet! Despite the soggy days, the SpreadPoint spirit hasn’t wavered. From exciting Spring Shows in Scotland to launching exclusive distribution in Norway, we’ve been navigating the tail end of Winter with plenty to look forward to!

Distributor Spotlight: Velde Maskin- Sole Distributor for Norway

We are excited to share that Velde Maskin, Saudavegen, has officially become the sole distributor of SpreadPoint for the whole of Norway. The agreement comes after a visit from the Velde Maskin Team to SpreadPoint HQ in January 2026. Having worked together for some time now, the exclusive partnership has been a welcome addition to the SpreadPoint market share and our support network. This partnership will help to build on our existing Norwegian markets and will support our valued Norwegian customers. We talked to Alf Halsnes of Velde Maskin to hear his thoughts!

Velde Maskin: Where it all started!

Velde Maskin was established in 2003 as a workshop for machine maintenance, later taking on dealership for Class Tractors. As a team, Velde Maskin is ‘Specifically interested in how machines are made from welding to the quality parts used. Because of this, we were drawn to SpreadPoint when we first saw it. We didn’t have lime spreading machinery in our range. We were particularly interested in the hydraulic drive features of the SP-Range, as well as the detailed features such as the SD-Heavy duty discs and also the SX-Auger System.’

Why are SpreadPoint Machines suited to Norway?

SpreadPoint products are created in County Down, Northern Ireland where challenging terrain and tough ground conditions are in our DNA. These demanding environments alongside strict environmental practices, have instilled a culture of engineering excellence and innovation. Each SpreadPoint machine is designed not only to excel locally but also to meet the highest international standards, allowing our products to compete on a global scale regardless of operational demands.

Alf says that ‘Norwegian agriculture is a mix of livestock and grain farms. The large distance between the North and South of the country creates such variations. Along the coast is mountainous with steep hills, wet conditions and mostly grass. The east side experiences nicer conditions, less rain and more grain farms. We would mostly spread lime and sand across the region but there are also some dry manures being spread, which is why we have sold a SpreadPoint MQ-800 to a customer to spread chicken litter.’

Norwegian agricultural practices priorities precision, low loss and compliance due to it's environmental controls and rugged climate. This means that agricultural machinery needs to be robust, precise and capable –all qualities we at SpreadPoint take pride in achieving. With short spreading windows, precision equipment is favoured. The use of variable rate technology is also high on the agenda, something SpreadPoint machinery can offer.

‘We first saw SpreadPoint online and later via their website and YouTube Channel. We knew of some SpreadPoint machines already in Norway and we wanted to know more.’

SpreadPoint and Velde Maskin Partnership

SpreadPoint and Velde Maskin have been working together for a year. Alf tells us ‘we advertised the first SP-400 online, sold it, ordered two more stock machines and sold those too before the three machines arrived in Norway. We got off to a good start!’

The most requested machines from customers is the SP400 Belt Spreader. Alf says, ‘The nice thing with the SP400 is that they are compact in build but also the wide tyres keep them stable on our rough terrain. We have received great customer feedback from machines sold last year, one machine in particular has been spreading lime, sand and chicken manure’.

We are easily able to containerise machines for shipping as well as roll on/roll off trailers. We ship all over the world and have an expert team on hand to load lorries.

‘Quality, modern features and robust equipment at a fair price! One step ahead and built to last!’

Favourite SpreadPoint Features

‘Our favourite features on the SP-Range are WeighPoint and the SX-Auger System. Both of these features ensure high accuracy, advanced technology, without compromising the robustness or simplicity of use. We have not yet explored the MK-Range, but we think the HydraPoint Chain Tensioning system is a brilliant idea!’

The next machine we will be delivering is a section controlled machine, which we are sure is the most advanced and robust machine on the Norwegian Market. We are really looking forward to this delivery!’

‘Machine performance is also impressive. From hydraulic drive functions to section controls and WeighPoint on both the SP and MQ ranges’

‘We like how the machines are made. It’s quality from start to finish,’ Alf says. The Velde Maskin team made the trip to Northern Ireland in January and said, ‘We were quite impressed when we saw the factory and all the details from the smallest components and the entire process. The most impressive aspect is the team goals of the SpreadPoint Team. They always aim to ensure the products are 100% and work with you to get the order exactly as we want it.’

‘The SpreadPoint Machines offer quite modern techniques and equipment, especially in the SP-Range. We recently revisited an SP-400 we sold last year and the paint quality and disc appearance are still great; it looked untouched, yet it’s been working hard!’

Show Season in full swing!

Northern Spring Show- Thainstone Agricultural Centre,Aberdeenshire

Now a staple in our calendar, the Northern Spring Show was once again a highlight in our February Diary. Export Sales Manager Niall Tiernan joined the team from our trusted dealer C T Scott on their stand on the 25th February 2026. SpreadPoint's SP-600 and MK-1200 made an appearance on the stand with a lot of interest in both machines. With wet weather delaying Spring spreading, people took the opportunity to visit the show this year, many stopping by to talk all things SpreadPoint. There was a particular buzz about our new MQ-Range of rear discharge spreaders- we are looking forward to getting the first ones off the production line and into Scotland shortly!
