Across this year’s SVG College Summit, we’ll talk about all of it: live broadcasts, in-venue shows, creative content, control rooms, staffing, workflows, revenue opportunities, and, yes, even the dreaded AI.

But underneath every tool, every strategy, and every production decision, this business has always been about people. It’s about the student-athletes whose moments you capture and memories you help create. It’s about the stories of the coaches, the alumni, the campuses, and the legacies you carry — all brought closer through your work.

It’s also about the students learning under you — the camera operators, replay ops, editors, directors, engineers, and storytellers who are gaining real experience and looking to you for guidance as they build their own futures. For many of them, the work you are leading today will become the foundation of their careers tomorrow.

And, yes, it’s about you: the full-time staffers, creative leaders, engineers, producers, directors, students, freelancers, and technology partners who make this community so special. During Basketball regular season games, Conference USA needed a seamless workflow to transcode and distribute live games to WSC Sports and SportRadar in real time. Ellis serves as the lead producer for broadcasts originating from the HokieVision control rooms. Ellis has produced linear and digital broadcasts for multiple sports on a variety of ESPN networks.

Gallagher’s work as infrastructure, production and branding lead for the construction of Lee & Penny Anderson Arena has helping to ensure a successful opening of the $200M, multipurpose, on-campus arena in October of 2025.

BRANDON BANKS, Murray State University, Senior Director of Creative Video Banks is in his third year as the Racers' Senior Director of Creative Video. Before MSU, he worked at Kentucky and UT Martin. Between 2019-21, he worked as a GA at Emporia State. In 2021, he was an NACMA Award Winner.

SEAN BARTHER, Vizrt, Customer Solutions Advisor

Barther is a seasoned professional in broadcast graphics, with extensive experience spanning over a decade. He has been the primary Vizrt graphics expert working on the OVC project. Prior to joining Vizrt, Barther was a senior graphics software engineer at CNN.
