what’s inside...
Dear Residents and Visitors,
South Florida is once again blessed with a stretch of beautiful weather, and in Weston, that means our parks, fields, and public spaces quickly become the hub of daily life. From youth sports and family outings to community festivals and concerts under the stars, this season is when Weston truly shines outdoors.
I fully understand the demands that busy families juggle as they navigate practices, games, lessons, and events. That is exactly why the Weston park system matters so much. When you arrive at one of our parks, you can count on well-groomed fields, clean, modern restrooms, safe playgrounds, and amenities maintained with care. This level of detail does not happen by accident. It is the result of consistent planning, professional maintenance, and the reliable investment that keeps our community looking and functioning at a high standard.
It is important to recognize how we make that possible. Resident tax dollars support the core services that maintain our parks, athletic facilities, and public landscaping throughout the City. Those same dollars fund the crews and equipment that keep fields playable, trees and medians healthy and lush, and common areas clean and inviting. This ongoing investment is a big reason Weston feels special every day, not just during event season.
Staff continues to advance projects identified in the Parks & Recreation Master Plan, with updates available on the Weston website. From February through April, Weston offers an outstanding calendar of community programming for residents and visitors of every age. I encourage you to explore the City’s Events Calendar for the latest schedule and details at WestonFL.org/Events.
One signature highlight this spring is Earth Day, The Weston Way, on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Library Park. This family-friendly event features educational booths, hands-on activities, storytelling, music, and a great opportunity to come together as a community while celebrating conservation and sustainability.
Throughout the year, we will celebrate Weston’s 30th Anniversary of incorporation through historical articles, tribute videos, and fun giveaways at our events. This milestone reflects thirty years of thoughtful growth and a strong sense of community that continues to define Weston.
On behalf of the City of Weston and all my colleagues, we wish you a wonderful spring season and an enjoyable time with family and friends as we move through Spring Break and into the Passover and Easter holidays. Be safe, and I hope to see you out in our parks and at our many community events.
Warm regards,
Margaret ‘Peggy’ Brown Weston Mayor
Spring brings the best: bright colors, fresh flowers, gorgeous weather, and that unmistakable urge to clean the house and finally get rid of what’s broken, outdated, or just taking up space. Here’s my friendly push: don’t stop at the closets! Give your business the same kind of refresh.
I’m not talking about grabbing a broom and deep cleaning your office. I’m talking about pulling out your key documents and practices and asking a few honest questions: Is that contract still in force? Does the shareholders’ agreement still reflect what the owners actually agreed to? Has the business changed ownership, structure, officers, etc., without the paperwork catching up?
I know this is not exactly springtime fun. But in real life, these reviews often uncover legal “time bombs”, small issues that are easy to fix today and painfully expensive later. A thorough cleanup should be done with legal counsel, but here are three practical steps you can take right now, on your own, to get started:
1. Keep your company active and properly registered
First, confirm your entity is active with the Florida Division of Corporations. All business entities must file an Annual Report each year between January 1 and May 1. Missing that window can lead to fees, and even administrative dissolution.
Next, double-check your registered address and Registered Agent information. Small administrative errors can mean you miss critical legal notices, and that’s never a good surprise.
2. Strengthen your legal protection through proper corporate organization
Florida doesn’t require internal documents to be filed with the state, but keeping them current is essential. Good records help preserve limited liability protections, clarify
expectations, and reduce the risk of legal disputes.
LLCs should have at a minimum a valid, up-to-date Operating Agreement. Corporations should have a Shareholders’ Agreement and maintain properly documented minutes, resolutions, and stock records.
3. Confirm the licenses that support your operations
A true spring cleaning also checks whether your business has every required license and permit based on what you do and where you do it. Operating without proper authorization can trigger fines, penalties, or even business closure. Most owners remember federal and state compliance and then forget the local layer. Think from big to small:
•Federal: IRS and federal agencies regulating your business
•State: state taxes, state registration, registered agent compliance
• County: certificate of use, local taxes, local registration, zoning
• City: certificate of use, city registration, zoning

Parents are always searching for ways to engage their children, providing them with the tools they need to grow, learn and navigate their ever-changing world. Parents are protectors, cheerleaders and counselors and walk beside them through every challenge both the expected and unexpected.
When unexpected changes arise, it can feel overwhelming for both a parent and child. A diagnosis involving a child’s vision can bring fear, uncertainty and countless questions for the short term and the long term. Yet families are not alone. An estimated 625,000 children in the United States live with blindness or visual impairment and through specialized education, rehabilitation, life-skills training and family-centered support, they enjoy independence, confidence and dignity at every stage of their life.
For more than 50 years, Lighthouse of Broward has served as a trusted local resource for children and adults who are blind or visually impaired. As the only private nonprofit organization in Broward County offering comprehensive services for children and adults with vision loss, Lighthouse of Broward has become a guiding light for families navigating this journey.
Through its youth-focused programs of Bright Beginnings, the David and Jean Colker KIDS Program and TeenLIFE, families can feel confident that their children are supported by experts who understand both the mechanical and emotional aspects of vision loss.
The Bright Beginnings Early Intervention Program serves children, from birth through age five, and their families and focuses on the earliest and most critical stages of development. Because many early milestones are typically learned through visual interaction, the program equips parents and caregivers with tools to nurture learning in
new ways. Children explore assistive technology, build social and sensory skills and develop curiosity about their surroundings while families become empowered partners in laying the foundation for lifelong growth.
For children ages six to 13, the David and Jean Colker KIDS Program offers year-round enrichment that supports daily living skills, social connection and self-confidence. Children participate in STEAM-based activities, practice safe travel and strengthen independence in a structured, encouraging environment. Many families share that the program not only builds their child’s abilities but also gives them greater confidence to advocate for their needs.
TeenLIFE serves youth ages 14 to 21, a stage when independence becomes especially important. Through a combination of group experiences and individualized instruction, teens develop life and career-readiness skills while gaining confidence to pursue academic, professional and personal goals.
Beyond educational programming, Lighthouse of Broward also offers Family Support Group services within each youth program to nurture the emotional well-being of both children and families. Through gatherings such as a Back-to-School Bash, National Blind Sports Day and other events, families are given meaningful opportunities to connect, share experiences and build practical strategies for navigating life with vision loss together.
A child’s diagnosis may change the path a family imagined, but it does not change the promise of what that child can become. With the right guidance, encouragement and community, children with vision loss can grow into confident young adults who navigate the world with resilience and pride. For Broward families, Lighthouse of Broward offers more than services, in a world of darkness, it brings light, so no family walks this journey alone.

The only thing missing from the Symphony in the Park Holiday Favorites was snow. On Saturday, December 13, 2025, the Weston Town Center Park was filled with the sounds of the season. Presented by the City of Weston and the Weston Music Society, in collaboration with the Arts Council of Greater Weston, the South Florida Symphony Orchestra was at its superb best, conducted by Music Director Maestra Sebrina Maria Alfonso.
WMS Vice President of Events Toby Feuer was thrilled with the program which featured holiday carols and songs that inspire in a variety of languages. She noted, “The evening was pleasant but cloudy, but the rains never came. Approximately 1,000 people did come to join in the festivities”.
Highlights included “Noel” sung by Dreya Starr, Soprano, who holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Florida; “Besame Mucho” sung by Maggie Renee, mezzosoprano, who holds a Bachelor of Music, a Master of Music and an AArtist
Diploma in Opera Studies from the Julliard School of Music, and ”You Raise Me Up” sung by Gerard Ortega, a tenor from Nicaragua now in New Orleans with a Bachelor in Music from the University of Florida. Other highlights included orchestral presentations of the “Festive Sounds of Hanukkah” and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra “Carol of the Bells”. Of course, the sing-along, led by all 3 singers, was a huge hit and included “Jingle Bells”, “Silent Night”, and “Deck the Halls”.
As has been the tradition, Olaf, from “Frozen” greeted the audience to the enchantment of all. Cameras were snapping as everyone wanted a picture with this star Disney character.
President Lou Marett summed it up well. “It was a delight to see families, couples, groups and onlookers from the nearby restaurants enjoying an evening of wonderful music and togetherness. We are so pleased to work with the City to bring such first class entertainment to Weston.”

The Weston Warriors continue to set the standard for excellence—on the field, on the mat, and in the classroom.
Our Varsity Cheer Squad, led by Head Coach Jehincy Castro, captured the Regional Championship at the Southeast Region Pop Warner Championships in Orlando, earning the highest score among 40 teams and claiming the title of Overall Division Champions. Our PeeWee Cheer Squad, under the leadership of Head Coach Maria Gonzalez, delivered a flawless performance to secure Runner-Up honors in their division.
Both squads proudly represented Weston Warriors at the Pop Warner National Championships in Charlotte, North
Carolina, where Varsity earned second place and PeeWee finished third in the nation.
Excellence extended to the gridiron as well. Our 13U Football Team, led by Head Coach Adam Aloma, competed against top programs from Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida, finishing as Southeast Regional Runner-Up.
At Weston Warriors, success is built on more than wins. Our athletes demonstrate dedication to academics, sportsmanship, commitment, and personal growth—values that shine through at every game and competition.
We are proud of you.
At Super Aqua Swim School, swimming isn’t just a class — it’s a journey that becomes part of a child’s world. Nestled in the heart of Weston, FL, our school was built with families in mind: a safe indoor pool, warm water all year round, and a team that truly gets kids.
What Makes Us…Us: When you walk into Super Aqua, you’ll notice right away it’s a place built for kids — and run by people who genuinely love what they do. Classes are designed around how children develop, with lessons planned according to age and ability. That means every child is placed where they’ll feel comfortable and challenged, not lost, not rushed.
Our approach blends technique with creativity. We use games, songs, and playful activities so learning feels like fun, not work. This helps kids relax in the water, build confidence, and actually enjoy the process of learning a life-long skill.
A Place That Feels Like Home: Because our pool is indoors, heated to 90°F, and air-conditioned, lessons happen no matter the weather, which means routines stay consistent and kids progress steadily. Parents can watch through big glass windows, catch up on messages in our comfy viewing area, or just take a breath knowing their child is safe and engaged.
Safety and comfort aren’t just features, they’re foundations here. We use advanced water filtration, UV/salt sanitation systems, and maintain a familyfriendly space where kids feel secure and parents feel informed.
Learning Step by Step: Super Aqua’s lessons are organized into thoughtful levels that help kids grow in the water from first comfort to true swimming technique. From the first moments of feeling safe in the pool to learning strokes like freestyle and backstroke, everything is built around gradual growth and real milestones.
A Team That Cares: The school is run by Guilherme and Samara — a husband-and-wife team who are not just owners, but educators and instructors themselves. They’ve spent years building the way Super Aqua teaches, always keeping communication open and honest with families.
A Place in Our Community: Families often tell us they see changes beyond the pool: kids who are braver, more focused, and proud of what they’ve learned. That’s exactly the kind of difference Super Aqua aims to make — one splash, one skill, one confident kid at a time.
Super Aqua Swim School isn’t just a place to learn how to swim, it’s part of our community, part of childhood memories, and a space where kids grow up in the water with confidence and joy.
A Message from the Founders: “When we created Super Aqua, our goal wasn’t to build the biggest swim school — it was to build the right one. A place where children feel respected, parents feel heard, and instructors are supported to do their best work.
Swimming is a life skill, and teaching it comes with a lot of responsibility. We treat every child as if they were our own, and we’re hands-on every day to make sure the quality of teaching and care stays exactly where it should be.
Seeing kids grow in confidence, overcome fears, and truly enjoy the water is what keeps us motivated. That’s what Super Aqua is about.”

ypress Bay High School, and the City of Weston. proudly celebrate Mr. Jorge Souza as he steps into his new role as principal, ushering in a season of growth, innovation, and renewed commitment to excellence. A proud product of Broward County Public Schools, Mr. Souza boasts a distinguished career in education spanning well over a decade. Drawing on his Brazilian and Cuban heritage, he brings a global perspective, deep cultural awareness, and a student-centered approach to one of the nation’s largest and most dynamic high schools.
Meet Mr. Souza: Mr. Souza’s journey in education has been marked by dedication and versatility. He has served in roles that span classroom instruction, curriculum development, and school leadership. Known for his collaborative style and student-first philosophy, he emphasizes creating an environment where every student and stakeholder feels supported and empowered. His leadership is grounded in three core principles: academic rigor, inclusivity, and community engagement. These values align perfectly with Cypress Bay’s tradition of excellence and its commitment to preparing students for college, careers, and life beyond the classroom.
Not one to shy away from a challenge, Mr. Souza has fully embraced his new role by taking significant steps toward shifting the culture at The Bay. By placing an emphasis on all students, staff, and community members being integral parts of the “Bay Family,” Mr. Souza is continuing to strengthen an environment where students and staff alike are excited to come to school and where parents and community members feel welcome and respected. Understanding that long-lasting change takes time, Mr. Souza is committed to serving the Weston community and growing his Bay Family for the remainder of his career in education.
First-Quarter Highlights and Accomplishments: Since stepping into his role at the start of the school year, Mr. Souza has hit the ground running. Fueled by his passion for continuous improvement, the first semester has been marked by significant achievements that reflect his vision for Cypress Bay High School:
• Enhanced Communication and Transparency: One of Mr. Souza’s first priorities was improving communication between the school and families. Through regular newsletters, social media updates (be sure to follow him on Instagram and Twitter @principal_cbhs), and open forums, parents and students now have clearer insight into school activities, academic expectations, and upcoming events.
• Focus on Student and Staff Well-Being: Recognizing the challenges students face in today’s demanding world, Mr. Souza prioritized mental health resources. The school expanded trusted adult initiatives and introduced wellness workshops, ensuring students have access to support systems that foster emotional resilience. In addition to student wellness, Mr. Souza has committed resources to staff wellness initiatives because he knows the challenges of pouring from an empty cup.
•Academic Excellence: Cypress Bay continues to shine academically. Under Mr. Souza’s leadership, the school launched targeted tutoring programs and peer mentoring initiatives to help students excel in core subjects. Early indicators show improved performance in math and reading benchmarks, setting the stage for strong end-of-year results.
•Technology Integration: Understanding the importance of digital literacy, Mr. Souza championed the integration of new educational and AI technologies. Classrooms now feature interactive tools that enhance engagement and personalize learning experiences, preparing students for a tech-driven future.
• Safety & Security Innovation: Having been a part of the Weston community for the past five years, Mr. Souza has led school-wide safety and security initiatives to ensure all students can learn and thrive without fear. Always making safe priority, Mr. Souza directly oversees the implementation of district protocols and has worked to analyze data and brainstorm solutions to eliminate campus disruptions. These initiatives have already resulted in a measurable decrease in behavior-related incidents compared to last year.
Celebrating Student Achievements: The first semester was not only about embracing change, it was also a time to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of Cypress Bay students:
• Athletic Success:
•Boys varsity soccer is currently undefeated and ranked #1 in the state by the FHSAA.
• Girls varsity soccer boasts a winning record and is well on their way to another run at the state championship.
•Boys and girls swim teams broke school, BCAA, and state records.
• Boys cross country, boys and girls golf, boys basketball, and bowling teams all have earned their place among the top athletic performers in Broward County.
• Arts and Innovation: Cypress Bay students excel beyond academics and athletics, the arts remain an essential component of life at The Bay.

•CBTV: Students celebrated the Bay’s first-ever, 1st place international win at the AllAmerican High School Film Festival
Looking Ahead: What’s Next for Cypress Bay: As we move into the second semester and beyond, Mr. Souza has outlined ambitious goals to elevate Cypress Bay even further:
• Strengthening College and Career Readiness: Plans are underway to expand partnerships with local universities and businesses, providing students with internships, dualenrollment opportunities, and career exploration programs.
• Equity and Inclusion Initiatives: Mr. Souza is committed to ensuring that every student feels valued and supported. Upcoming programs will focus on cultural awareness, diversity training, and inclusive practices that celebrate the rich backgrounds of our student body.
• Community Engagement: Expect more family involvement through volunteer opportunities, parent workshops, and community events designed to strengthen the bond between Cypress Bay and the families it serves.
•Building a Culture of Success and School Pride: With over 4,300 students, Mr. Souza understands the importance of fostering pride and connection. Through student and community engagement efforts, he hopes to create a culture that lasts long after graduation, contributing to a robust alumni network.
A Message to Families & Our Extended Bay Family: Mr. Souza believes that strong schools are built on strong partnerships. “Our success depends on collaboration,” he says. “When students, families, and educators work together, we create an environment where every child can thrive.” He encourages families to stay engaged, attend school events, and share feedback as Cypress Bay continues its journey toward building a legacy of excellence.
In one short semester, Mr. Jorge Souza has demonstrated that leadership is not about maintaining the status quo; it’s about inspiring progress while honoring the foundation of success. His vision for Cypress Bay High School is clear: a school where academic achievement, student well-being, and community connection go hand in hand. As we look ahead to the rest of the year, one thing is certain, Cypress Bay High School will always be a place where lightning sparks a legacy!

On the evening of January 27th, 2026, Indian Trace Elementary welcomed over 300 eager attendees, including families and students, to its fifth annual Literacy Night extravaganza. This event, a cornerstone of the school’s commitment to fostering a love for reading and writing, transformed the campus into a hub of excitement and exploration. From the moment the doors opened, guests were greeted with an atmosphere filled with learning and possibilities.
Families and students alike were delighted to discover an array of engaging activities awaiting them. From classic activity favorites from years past, to exciting new additions, Literacy Night at Indian Trace Elementary offered something for students in all grade-levels. One notable inclusion was the Spanish dual language literacy activities, ensuring that all members of the diverse school community felt welcomed and included in the celebration of literacy.
Among the highlights of the evening were the hands-on literacy stations throughout the school’s cafeteria. Students eagerly dove into different reading activities, honed their reading comprehension skills, and engaged in fun sight word games. Writing activities sparked creativity and expression and left participants inspired and eager to explore the written word further.
“We had such a wonderful time at literacy night! Both my fourth-grader and my
first-grader had so many activities to complete for their grade-levels, and they had such a wonderful experience! We can’t wait to use the take-home activities in our house to help practice important reading and writing skills!” commented Jessica Strickland, a parent at Indian Trace who has attended the event in previous years.
Adding to the excitement of the evening was the literacy night “passport.” Students were issued this passport at the beginning of the event. Their mission? Visit at least four different stations, each offering a unique literacy activity and once complete, they would receive a coveted prize. At the end of the night, students proudly earned their literacy night bookmark and a book to take home.
“My daughter loved going around to the different stations, completing the activities and receiving her stamps, and then turning in the passport to earn her prizes to take home.” said Colleen Guerrero, a mother of a student in fourth grade at Indian Trace who attended the event.
Through the power of hands-on engagement and collaborative learning, Indian Trace Elementary once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to nurturing lifelong learners and passionate readers.

The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Summit in January 2026 marked a defining moment for Sagemont Preparatory School, offering students access to an experience typically reserved for emerging global leaders. As part of an exclusive new partnership with the London School of Economics, Sagemont Prep students engaged in two immersive days of high-level learning, collaboration, and entrepreneurial exploration, bringing Sagemont Prep’s Educational Pillars to life on a global stage.
Throughout the summit, students participated in keynote sessions, masterclasses, and interactive workshops that emphasized building connections and cultivating a strong global perspective. They examined entrepreneurship not only as a pathway to success but as a vehicle for ethical leadership, social responsibility, and meaningful impact. Sessions encouraged students to own their learning by designing future career pathways rooted in initiative, adaptability, and purposeful personal branding.
Students were challenged to align passion with purpose, reflecting Sagemont Prep’s
pillar of pursuing one’s passion, while learning how strategic thinking can transform interests into long-term impact. Honest discussions around setbacks reinforced the value of responsible risk-taking and dynamic measures of growth, helping students reframe failure as an essential step toward resilience, confidence, and leadership.
Hands-on innovation anchored the experience as students applied design thinking, collaborated on real-world problems, and explored how emerging technologies, including AI and no-code tools, are reshaping entrepreneurship. Fireside chats with accomplished entrepreneurs and London School of Economics alumni further connected classroom learning to real-world application.
The Sagemont Prep and London School of Economics summit culminated in a design sprint and pitch experience, where students presented solutions with clarity and confidence. More than a summit, this partnership reflects Sagemont Prep’s commitment to empowering students to innovate for tomorrow, preparing them to see themselves as creators, problem-solvers, and global changemakers.
Summer is more than just a school break: it’s a unique opportunity for children to grow, explore, and discover their creative potential. Choosing the right summer camp can make a significant difference in a child’s development. As parents, we know that everyone should pursue a career to become a professional, and that learning a trade is highly recommended. These days, trades have statistically reached income levels in personal finances equal to or greater than many university degrees.
Summer camps give us the opportunity to identify areas where our children can develop their strengths and address their weaknesses. Speaking with Carlos Tirado, he explains that although only a small percentage of his students will become professional artists or athletes, he ensures that each one receives the most effective education. He tells us how his art students, for example, develop fine and extra-fine motor skills, observation skills, and most importantly, learn to solve problems from day one. Regarding his sports camp, led by professionals in those areas, he explains that while everyone might want a star athlete in the family, he hopes they will at least learn to work as part of a team, which is what life is about. Summer camps help children stay motivated, safe, and socially connected during the months out of school. At the Carlos Tirado Art Camp, children are encouraged to express themselves through art while developing important life skills. Creative activities stimulate the imagination,
strengthen problem-solving abilities, and promote emotional expression in a positive and supportive environment.
The art camp also helps children develop confidence and focus. Completing handson projects gives children a sense of accomplishment, while learning new techniques fosters patience and perseverance. Equally important, children interact with their peers, practice teamwork, and develop communication skills that extend far beyond the art classroom.
For families, the summer camp provides structure and peace of mind. Parents can rest easy knowing their children are spending their days in a safe and enriching environment, rather than in front of screens. A structured schedule fosters healthy routines, reduces stress at home, and often results in happier, more engaged children.
Choosing the right camp is essential. The Carlos Tirado Art Camp stands out for its creative approach, expert guidance, and welcoming atmosphere where every child feels encouraged and valued. It’s more than just a summer activity: it’s an investment in creativity, confidence, and lifelong skills.
This summer, give your child the opportunity to learn, create, and grow, one step at a time. For more information visit www.carlostiradosartclasses.com or call (954) 709-3966. Located at 16690 Saddle Club Rd, Weston, FL 33326.

Rotary Club of Weston has a strong commitment with the Environment. And the Club’ Environmental Initiatives Action Group continues expanding in projects, by partnering with sponsored High school Interact clubs in Weston. Bringing projects, to educate, motivate to action and to create legacy and environmental stewardship.
Cypress Bay High School, accepted the challenge of tackling one of the biggest challenges of our time: plastic pollution. Our Interact Club launched “Recycle Beyond the Bag” plastic bag/plastic film recycling challenge, an ambitious project to recycle 1,000 pounds of plastic and avoid it contaminating our environment for hundreds of years.
But this is not just a recycling drive — it’s a call to action, a movement to inspire lasting change in how we live. From day one, we knew this was about creating a lifestyle change.
The goal was to make the project accessible for everyone, starting at the school . To inspire peers to rethink their relationship with plastic. A school-wide collection , encouraged students to bring in their plastic bags and to spread the word. The reach didn’t stop at school. Students partnered with local retailers to collect shipment plastic that would have otherwise ended up in the trash. Every pickup brought in around 40 pounds of plastic — an incredible boost to the efforts.
Margarita Lartitegui- Rotary club of Weston environmental Chair , provided the initial concept “Anything you do makes an impact. When you start recycling plastics, you will avoid
a significant volume from ending in the landfill. When you start doing it as a group, the volume will be impressive and the positive impact on the environment will be tremendous”
Students embraced this challenge with a clear goal; “We’ve collected hundreds of pounds of plastic. But the true impact isn’t just in the numbers — it’s in the ripple effect we’ve created. Families rethinking their habits. Students are spreading the message. Together, we’re making sustainability a way of life
This project is ongoing — and that’s the beauty of it. It’s not about a one-time collection; it’s about creating lasting change in our community. It’s a commitment to our planet and to future generations. And we care abou environmental initiatives because it is the single greatest challenge that our generation faces ”
“Together, we’re proving that small actions can lead to monumental change. Because change starts here, in our school, with our community.
To date, Cypress Bay High school finished the initial collection in record time and received and installed the 1st dedicated Composite bench made from their recycled plastic film. And is underway to another record 2nd year collection. This project continues growing and now Western High School has started their challenge and other local schools will continue joining the movement.
Our Legacy: Protecting the Environment
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA)is a nationwide organization dedicated to supporting children and families by strengthening the connections between schools, communities, and education leaders. In Broward County, local PTAs and PTSAs work together to advocate for students, support schools, and create opportunities that help young people succeed—both inside and outside the classroom.
One of the ways this mission comes to life is through the Broward County Council PTA/PTSAScholarship Program, which reflects a shared commitment to investing in students and the future of our community. Each year, the program recognizes graduating Broward County seniors who have demonstrated leadership, perseverance, service, and a dedication to personal growth.
Administered by the Broward County Council PTA/PTSA, the scholarship program is designed to be inclusive and student-centered, celebrating a wide range of postsecondary pathways. Whether students plan to attend a university, college, technical program, or pursue careerfocused training, these scholarships aim to reduce financial barriers and help students take their next steps with confidence.
Several scholarships will be offered during the 2025–2026 cycle, including awards that recognize community service, leadership, and workforce readiness. Each scholarship reflects PTA’s core values— advocacy for children, family engagement, and strengthening communities through education and service.
Applications for the Broward County Council PTA/PTSA Scholarship Program willopen on February 16, 2026. Eligibility requirements, award details, and application instructions will be published on the official scholarship webpage prior to launch.
Students, families, and school communities are encouraged to learn more and stay informed throughout the scholarship cycle. The scholarship webpage includes important updates, key dates, and an option to sign up for email notifications.
Community support plays a vital role in sustaining and growing this program. Individuals, businesses, and organizations interested in contributing financially or exploring in-kind partnership opportunities are invited to contact the Scholarship Committee at Scholarships@BrowardPTSA. org. One hundred percent (100%) of all funds received are awarded directly to students, ensuring maximum impact.
