HELP US SAY YES: SUPPORT OUR CRUCIAL FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN!

FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR DORI PECK

As valued members of the SpokAnimal family, you know how committed we are to providing a haven and loving care for every animal that comes through our doors.

But we cannot continue to save lives without your help, which is why we are reaching out with an urgent call for your support. Now, more than ever, your help is critical in making an impact.

Right now, this is the direst financial situation that we have been in. If things do not turn around for us financially, we will have to make some very tough decisions about SpokAnimal by the end of 2024.

How You Can Help Us Say Yes:

1. Donate: Your generous donations are the backbone of our mission. Whether it’s a one-time gift or a recurring donation, every contribution brings us closer to our goal.

On Friday, May 31st, we officially launched our new fundraising campaign, “Help Us Say Yes”. This campaign is crucial in enabling us to continue our mission of saving animals in need. Every dollar raised will help us say "yes" to more animals requiring urgent care, "yes" to life-saving medical treatment, and “yes” to people in the community who want nothing more than for their pets to stay with them, where they belong.

2. Spread the Word: Share our campaign with friends and family, and on social media. The more people who know about "Help Us Say Yes," the more support we can garner.

HELP US SAY YES: KEEP FAMILIES TOGETHER WITH OUR GUARDIAN ANGEL PROGRAM

At SpokAnimal, we care deeply about the pets and people in our community. That’s why, as we try to weather our most difficult financial year ever, we launched our Help Us Say Yes fundraising campaign, which is crucial to keeping our doors open through 2024 and beyond.

We have diligently served Spokane for the last 41 years, and we want to be here for the next 41. But we need your help to continue. Without your support, we may have to make some tough decisions about our most important initiatives, such as our Guardian Angel program.

Guardian Angel is literally a lifeline, providing a haven for pets when their owners are displaced due to illness, domestic violence (DV), or other emergencies. For many DV survivors, knowing their pets are safe allows them to seek safety themselves. And for people experiencing a medical emergency or mental health issue, we can take one more worry off their plate.

Here’s what Douglas, who lives in Spokane, texted us when we took his beloved Golden Retriever Cagney to visit him as he continued to recuperate from surgery:

“I can’t tell you what a difference in attitude and recovery I have made since your visit — I'm like my old self. I was just giving up all hope until you came out there with Cagney. You very well might have saved my life.”

Without the Guardian Angel program, pet owners like Douglas would be faced with the heartbreaking decision to rehome or surrender Cagney permanently. Without this program, Douglas would lose hope.

However, the future of Guardian Angel and all our programs are in jeopardy as we face an uncertain future. We need your donations to keep them running. We need you to Help Us Say Yes.

Please consider making a gift today.

With your support, we can continue to be guardian angels for Douglas, for Cagney, and for countless others. Together, we can provide a safe harbor during their most challenging times, ensuring no pet or owner faces these hardships alone.

As a cherished member of the SpokAnimal family, you know how dedicated we are to helping every animal who comes through our doors. We do this through a variety of programs, each designed to save as many lives as possible.

Take our foster program, for example.

Every year, our fosters save thousands of lives by opening their homes to kittens or puppies until they are old enough for adoption. They nurse animals with illnesses or injuries and help those needing socialization or struggling in the shelter environment. At any one time, 350 to 450 animals are in foster care.

We provide the foster parents with everything they need to succeed in raising babies or saving an animal in medical crisis, including all food, litter, and veterinary care. Fosters provide thousands of hours of care and love!

Now, imagine if the program were to go away because we could not afford to keep running it.

Feeding growing kittens and puppies is expensive: buying just three cans of milk replacement — enough for one neonate kitten until they can eat solid food — costs $100. And the total budget for our foster program is around $50,000 each year!

The impact of losing our foster program would be devastating, increasing the number of homeless animals in Spokane, many of them newborn and young puppies and kittens. Without our foster program, these vulnerable babies would have nowhere else to go. They would literally lose their lifeline.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

With your help, we can keep this important program up and running. Through our new Help Us Say Yes campaign, our dedicated foster parents can continue to save lives.

Your support is vital. Whether a one-time gift or recurring donation, every contribution helps. Together, we can make a powerful difference.

3. Support Our Fundraising Events: We were thrilled by the turnout at our annual Woofs & Whiskers and Riding with Rover fundraisers. The community turned out to show their love and support, and we thank every one of you!

Why Your Support Matters:

Thanks to supporters like you, we have been able to provide care for thousands of animals each year. However, the demand for our services continues to grow, and we need your help to ensure that no animal is turned away.

We invite you to join us in this critical campaign. Your support will directly impact the lives of countless animals, giving them the chance they deserve to find loving forever homes.

Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to SpokAnimal. Today and every day, please Help Us Say Yes.

Together, we can make a powerful difference.

THANK Y U, TITO'S !

Thanks to two generous donations from Tito's Handmade Vodka, our surgical team was able to spay and neuter over 150 dogs of all shapes and sizes ... Waffles, Wiggles and Chicken, to name but three!

We cannot thank Tito's enough for their support. Many pet owners in Spokane have the desire but not the income to fix their pets, so this is a huge win!
