In May, 1963, thls news item came out In the newspapers: New Speed Limit on Texas Super Highways — Governor John Connally has just signed into law a. bill raising the speed limit on some of the better and newer highways of Texas to 'TO miles an hour. The new law raising the speed limit from 60 to 70 m.p.h. will not become effective until 90 days aft er the end of the current legislative session, however.
