ThisweekisChildren’sMentalHealthWeek(9 -15 February),ledby Place2Be,thechildren’smentalhealthcharitybehindthecampaign.The themethisyearisThisIsMyPlace,whichfocusesonbelonging, community,andfamily,andhowfeelingsafe,connected,andaccepted supportschildren’semotionalwellbeing.

Wewantedtotakeamomenttofocusonthisbecauseconversations aroundchildren’smentalhealthhavebecomeincreasinglyimportantover thelastfewyears.RecentUKdatashowsacontinuedriseinthenumber ofchildrenandyoungpeopleexperiencinganxiety,emotionaldistress, andlowmood,withdemandformentalhealthsupportremaininghigher thanitwaspre-pandemic.

Formanyfamilies,schools,andcommunities,emotionalwellbeingisno longerseenasa‘nicetohave’,butsomethingthatgenuinelymatters.
