CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES PROGRAMME TERM 1 2026/27
WHY CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES MATTER
STEAM
We believe that the co-curriculum is an essential part of a rich and well-rounded education. Learning does not take place only within formal lessons; co-curricular experiences provide equally valuable opportunities for students to discover new interests, deepen existing passions, develop character and build meaningful relationships. Together, the curriculum and co-curriculum work in partnership to nurture curious, compassionate and capable young people who are prepared to contribute positively to their communities and the wider world.
STEAM CCAs bring together science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics through practical, investigative and creative experiences.
Our programme offers a carefully balanced range of activities that cater for every child. Some activities are designed primarily for enjoyment, creativity, friendship and wellbeing, while others provide opportunities for students to develop specialist skills, pursue personal interests, embrace leadership, perform, compete or challenge themselves through sustained practice. Whether trying something new or extending an existing talent, every child is encouraged to participate in a way that is meaningful to them. Students have the opportunity to participate in co-curricular activities during our dedicated lunchtime and after-school CCA sessions. While participation is optional, we strongly encourage every child to become actively involved in the wider life of the school and to experience a broad range of opportunities throughout the year. Class teachers maintain an overview of each student's participation and regularly encourage children to become involved in activities that reflect their interests and strengths. Specialist teachers also play an important role by identifying and encouraging students who demonstrate enthusiasm or talent within their subject areas to further develop these through co-curricular opportunities. This collaborative approach helps ensure that every child experiences a balanced programme that supports both personal enjoyment and individual growth.
Students are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, solve problems and test solutions through hands-on learning. These CCAs may include technology, engineering, design, coding, construction, scientific investigation and other problem-solving challenges, helping students develop curiosity, critical thinking, creativity and adaptability.
Global Citizenship Global Citizenship CCAs encourage students to develop a greater understanding of their communities, society and the wider world. Through opportunities connected to areas such as leadership, communication, culture, sustainability, service and enterprise, students are encouraged to consider different perspectives and develop their own ideas. These CCAs help students build empathy, independence and a sense of responsibility, while recognising how they can make a positive contribution to both their local and global communities.
Core Sport Co-Curricular Activities
OUR CO-CURRICULAR CATEGORIES Our CCA programme is organised into four broad categories to ensure students have access to a balanced range of opportunities beyond the classroom. Each category supports different areas of development, while allowing students to explore their interests, discover new strengths and develop skills that contribute to their wider education at St Paul’s.
Physical Activity and Wellbeing Physical Activity and Wellbeing CCAs encourage students to develop healthy, active lifestyles while building confidence, resilience and positive habits for the future. Through sport, movement, fitness and wellbeing activities, students have opportunities to develop physical skills, work with others and challenge themselves in a supportive environment. These CCAs promote enjoyment, participation and an understanding of the important role that physical activity can play in lifelong wellbeing.
Creative and Performing Arts Creative and Performing Arts CCAs give students opportunities to express themselves, explore their imagination and develop confidence through creativity and performance. Activities may include art, design, music, drama, dance and other forms of creative expression. Students are encouraged to experiment with ideas, work independently and collaboratively, and develop their individual interests and talents. These CCAs help to foster creativity, communication and a willingness to share ideas with others.
Our Core Sport CCAs are an important part of our co-curricular programme. These activities have been chosen because we want to build strong participation, help students develop their skills and, where appropriate, create clear pathways towards representing our school in fixtures, competitions and other school events. As the school grows, building strong participation from the beginning is especially important. For this reason, Core Sport CCAs are included at no additional charge to families, making it easier for students of all abilities and experience levels to get involved. This helps us build strong teams and sustainable programmes, while giving students the chance to try new activities, discover their strengths and contribute to our growing sense of community and school spirit. Alongside our own staff, our Core Sport CCAs are supported by carefully selected specialist coaches and providers who bring additional expertise and experience to the programme. These partners will also run additional training sessions at the school during the week, at weekends and during the school holidays, giving students who develop a real interest in a sport further opportunities to build their skills and progress.
Specialist Enrichment Co-Curricular Activities Alongside our Core Sport CCAs, Specialist Enrichment CCAs broaden the range of opportunities available to students, giving them even more ways to explore different interests, try something new and develop skills in areas they particularly enjoy. These optional CCAs are led by carefully selected specialist providers who bring additional expertise, specialist equipment and experience to our programme. Working with specialists allows us to offer a broader and more varied range of activities, while giving students the opportunity to learn from people with specialist knowledge and experience in their respective fields. Specialist Enrichment CCAs carry an additional fee, which will always be clearly shown before selections are made. Providers may also offer further evening, weekend and holiday opportunities across Bangkok, giving students who discover a particular interest through their CCA the chance to continue developing it beyond the school programme.

SELECTING CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES THROUGH SOCS We use SOCS to manage Co-Curricular Activity selections. During the selection window, parents can log in to their SOCS account, view the activities available to their child and submit their preferences for the different days and time slots.
Parent Support and Co-Curricular Resources
Rather than simply choosing one activity, SOCS allows families to rank activities in order of preference. Your child's first choice should be marked as number 1, followed by any other activities they would be happy to take part in. Adding several genuine preferences gives SOCS more options if a particularly popular activity cannot be allocated.
Co-Curricular SOCS Selection Help & Guides
Scan the QR code to access parent help videos and other useful information to support you with Co-Curricular selection and registration.
Importantly, Co-Curricular Activity selections are not first come, first served. There is therefore no advantage to submitting preferences as soon as the selection window opens. Families can take their time, look through the programme together and make their choices at any point before the published deadline. Once the selection window has closed, SOCS will process the submitted preferences alongside the places available in each activity. As some activities have limited capacity, we cannot guarantee that every student will receive their first choice, but ranking several suitable options gives us the best opportunity to allocate an activity they will enjoy. Parents will be informed when allocations are complete, and confirmed activities will then appear in each student's SOCS calendar.
Questions and Support For any questions or additional support regarding Co-Curricular Activities, please contact our CCA Team: CCA TEAM cca@spgsibangkok.ac.th
Please only include activities that your child would be pleased to take part in. Where the option is available, families who do not wish their child to be allocated another activity within a particular time slot should select ‘No Activity’ after their final preferred choice. A step-by-step SOCS guide, a workshop at the parent orientation morning, drop-in support sessions at student drop-off and collection times, and short help videos will be available to support families through the selection process.
