SUMMARY

Getting published is no longer getting found In 2025, SpeedyIndex analyzed the indexation outcomes of more than 1,000,000 URLs. The headline result: roughly 40% of new pages were still absent from Google’s index a month after publication. For site owners this means publication no longer implies visibility; for link builders it means a large share of acquired backlinks passes no value at all — a link outside the index does not exist for the ranking system. This brief summarizes the finding, its practical implications, and the working recommendations our team applies in indexing campaigns. It is written for a practitioner audience: site owners, SEO specialists, and link builders.

Why indexation became selective Two mechanisms drive selectivity. First, admission is a decision, not a queue: Google evaluates whether a page deserves an index slot, and skips pages it judges low-value — the “Crawled – currently not indexed” state in Search Console is precisely that verdict. Second, crawling is budgeted: Google’s crawl-budget documentation ties a site’s crawl capacity to its health, popularity, and freshness, so weaker sites receive less bot attention to begin with.¹ A third factor applies specifically to backlinks: Google’s spam systems are designed to detect unnatural link patterns.² Devaluation of such links is silent — no notification surface exists for it — which is why measured indexation rate is the closest practical gauge of link health. ¹ Google Search Central: “Manage your crawl budget” — developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/large-site-managing-crawl-budget ² Google Search Central: “Spam policies for Google web search” — developers.google.com/search/docs/essentials/spam-policies

KEY FINDING

≈40% of new pages: not indexed within 30 days Across 1,000,000+ URLs analyzed in 2025, roughly four in ten new pages had not entered Google’s index a month after going live. Partial non-indexation is a normal property of the modern web — the practical question is whether your own pages and links sit in the indexed 60% or the invisible 40%.

What this means in practice – For site owners: publishing and sitemap submission are the start of indexation work, not the end

of it. Pages that matter commercially need active monitoring — URL Inspection for single pages, the Page indexing report for trends. – For link builders: reported link counts overstate delivered value. A campaign’s honest KPI is the

number of indexed links; anything else counts pages Google may never have recorded. – For budgets: paying per placed link prices in the invisible 40%. Pricing tied to indexed outcomes

(pay-per-result) aligns cost with delivered value.

A note on silent devaluation Manual actions appear in Search Console with a name and a recovery path. Algorithmic link devaluation does not appear anywhere: links judged unnatural are simply discounted. The only observable symptom is an indexation rate below your own historical norm — or links that were indexed and later dropped. We recommend treating index-rate monitoring as a standing diagnostic, run quarterly and after every major campaign.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Working practices drawn from campaign data The measures below reflect SpeedyIndex campaign experience. They are practical recommendations, not published Google thresholds.

1 · Filter before submitting Ten to twenty percent of a typical purchased link list is dead weight: 404/410 pages, noindex-blocked URLs, and links already in the index. Removing them first protects both budget and signal quality.

2 · Control submission velocity A young domain gaining hundreds of indexed referring domains within days produces a discovery curve organic growth never draws. Spreading submission over 7–30 days (“drip-feed indexing”) keeps the curve inside a natural shape. Our working daily caps by target domain age: Target domain age

3 · Verify outcomes, then iterate Expect first indexed URLs within 48–72 hours of submission; audit results after a 7-day window; re-verify the full list independently around day 14. Two campaigns of your own per-batch index rates outperform any public benchmark, including ours. ABOUT THE DATA

Scope, limitations, and honest caveats Scope Findings summarize aggregated, anonymized data from more than 1,000,000 URLs observed through SpeedyIndex indexing campaigns during 2025, with indexation status verified via bulk index checks. The study was announced publicly in September 2025 (PR Newswire: “SpeedyIndex Launches Drip-Feed Feature to Combat Indexing Crisis as Research Shows 40% of Web Content Remains Invisible to Google”).

Limitations – The sample reflects URLs submitted by service users — skewed toward SEO-active pages and

backlinks rather than a random sample of the web. – Indexation is a moving state: a page unindexed at day 30 may enter the index later, and vice versa.

Figures describe a snapshot window. – No claim is made that submission velocity is a confirmed Google ranking signal; velocity

recommendations address documented pattern-detection and crawl-budget mechanics.
