Specialty Program Group has acquired Proper Insurance (Proper), a national provider of insurance solutions built specifically for short-term rental properties Founded in 2014, Proper offers a commercial insurance alternative to traditional homeowners or landlord policies for properties listed on platforms like Airbnb® and Vrbo® , with nationwide coverage backed by Lloyd’s of London

As part of the acquisition, Michael Grimland has been appointed President of Proper Insurance A longtime leader within the organization, Grimland will continue to oversee day-to-day operations, underwriting strategy, and the ongoing development of the platform.

This acquisition strengthens SPG’s specialty property capabilities and expands its presence in the fast-growing shortterm rental insurance market, reinforcing SPG’s commitment to scaling best-in-class specialty solutions.

Todd Miles appointed Chief Sales Officer, Life & Annuity

Specialty Program Group has appointed Todd Miles, CFP®, as Chief Sales Officer for the Life & Annuity Division.

In this role, Todd will provide strategic sales leadership across SPG’s life insurance business, partnering closely with leadership to support growth initiatives and strengthen relationships with advisors and distribution partners nationwide

Todd brings more than 25 years of experience in life insurance wholesaling and sales leadership Most recently, he spent over a decade at John Hancock in senior leadership roles, including Director of Regional Sales and Regional Vice President, leading teams across multiple regions
