Sharing a positive message through literature

Photo by Tamara Yurovsky Last Saturday, Queen Anne Book Company welcomed the public for a book signing with Queen Anne’s own Jessixa Bagley. Bagley is an author/ illustrator and a long-time resident of Queen Anne. Her latest children’s book, “Maurice” from Chronicle Books, tells the tale of an accordion-playing dog in Paris. ‘It’s about the creative process, examining how your passions align with the systems of the world, how loss and sadness can affect other parts of your life,’ she said. In the book, which she read to delighted listeners, the title character has a bit of an existential crisis when he can no longer earn enough money to care for his bird friends. Bagley assures readers the book has a happy ending for the furry and feathered friends.
