Who Can Use the Field? Eatonville School District
F
irst and foremost, we are incredibly grateful to the Eatonville community. This beautiful facility became a reality because of the overwhelming support of our voters, generous community partners, and grant funding. From the beginning, our vision has been to create a facility that serves not only Eatonville School District students but also our entire community. During the summer, the track and stadium are open for informal public use by individuals and small groups from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, provided the facility is not being used for scheduled school activities, maintenance, or other approved events. Community members are welcome to walk or jog on the track and enjoy the stadium during these hours. Formal use of the facility—including organized practices, games, camps, tournaments, or other activities by schools, athletic organizations, or community groups—requires the completion of a district Facility Use Request and approval through the district’s facility reservation process before the activity may occur, linked here: https://www.eatonville.wednet.edu/departments/maintenance-and-operations/ facility-use To help preserve this significant community investment for many years to come, we ask users to observe a few important rules: • No bicycles, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades, or other wheeled devices are permitted on the track or synthetic turf. • No gum, sunflower seeds, food, or beverages other than water are allowed on the track or turf surfaces. • No pets are permitted inside the
stadium or on the track and field, with the exception of service animals. • Metal cleats are prohibited on the synthetic turf. • Please help keep the facility clean by disposing of all trash properly and respecting posted signage. The stadium seating is available whenever the track is open for informal public use, allowing community members to enjoy the facility whether exercising or simply taking in the beautiful surroundings. Motor Mayhem Rolls into Town

ars and motorcycles of all makes, models and eras will gather in Eatonville on Saturday, July 18, for the first Motor Mayhem at Mount Rainier Eagles Aerie No. 3158. The grounds at 100 Weyerhaeuser Road N. will open at 6 a.m. for early arrivals. The Eagles will serve a club-hosted breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m., and the awards ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. Organizers are inviting classic cars, hot rods, custom builds, trucks, modern vehicles and motorcycles. With
more than five acres available for vehicle displays and parking, the site will provide room for participants and spectators, along with views of Mount Rainier. The event’s full name is the Gary Johnson Memorial Motor Mayhem. Johnson, who died April 2, 2025, began working on cars at age 16 and remained involved in the automotive and racing community throughout his life. He served as an announcer and track manager at Puyallup Raceway and Seattle International Raceway, now Pacific
Raceways. He also owned National Auto Parts in Morton and later operated Rods and Racers from his home shop. Organizers describe Johnson as a legend within the racing community and hope Motor Mayhem will become an annual Eatonville event. closed during informal public access. However, restroom access can be included as part of an approved Facility Use Agreement for organizations and groups that reserve the facility. We are proud to share this outstanding community asset and hope residents will enjoy it while helping us care for it. By treating the facility with respect, we can ensure that it continues to serve Eatonville students, families, athletic programs, and community members for generations to come.
