What are the main sources of inspiration behind this redesign? I lived in Sweden the year before starting architecture school and in Denmark for a year after finishing graduate school. I experienced the great buildings of Scandinavia, and studied details, forms, and a material sensibility that now inform my approach to design. I wanted to bring a Nordic sense of materiality and texture to Aquavit’s redesign, with a special attention to the layering of space and light.
