THE GOVERNMENT has confirmed it will close Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court at the end of 2018.
A report signed off by the
Lord Chief of Justice, Tory MP Elizabeth Truss, has said the effects will be: •That hearings for those defendants under the age of eighteen will be relocated to Bromley Magistrates’ Court •Hearings for defendants over the age of eighteen will be
relocated to Croydon Magistrates’ Court Housing possession work, which was going to be moved to Camberwell after a decision to close Lambeth County Court, will instead happen at Southwark’s three local Crown Courts.

Road closed as medics help injured man
A MAN was fighting for his life yesterday after suffering a neck injury in a ‘workplace accident’ in Bermondsey.
Banyard Road, off Southwark Road, was closed as emergency services fought to save the man, believed to be in his 30s. Some residents said the man was working on a tree in the grounds of Southwark Park Primary school at the time of the incident. Police said they were called to the scene at 11.11am on Wednesday, February 15. They said he was taken to hospital. The Met said the incident had been referred to the Health and Safety Executive.
