SEND at Southfield All pupils, including those with SEND, are encouraged to achieve highly at Southfield. Adaptation and structured support help such children to succeed. SEND folders are kept in every classroom and hold all important information regarding pupils with SEND in each class. Any queries or concerns should be discussed as soon as possible with the SENDCo, where next steps can be taken:

Adaptation for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) involves maintaining the same lesson objectives and high expectations for all students, while using intentional and flexible modifications to support individual needs. This includes clearly modelling the adapted outcomes to ensure that children with SEND understand the expectations and can achieve highly.
These are updated termly and given to parents twice annually. The plan is designed to meet the unique needs of the child and outlines specific educational goals, services, accommodations, and supports that the child will receive to help them succeed in school.
This is used by to document concerns about a student's behaviour, academic performance, or well-being. It outlines specific issues, background information, and any initial actions taken. This form initiates a review process by the SENDCo to determine if further intervention or support is needed.
Amelia will be checking adaptation across year groups weekly, and providing suggestions or recommendations when needed. Outcomes and progress of the pupil with SEND fall under the responsibility of the class teacher. Amelia can meet with parents of pupils with or on behalf of the class teacher.
