PART-TIME PUBLIC WORKS

MAINTENANCE

The City of Freeborn is accepting applications for a part-time Public Works Maintenance Worker. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of city streets, storm sewer system, public buildings and grounds, parks, vehicles, and equipment. Will also assist with the repair, maintenance and monitoring of water and wastewater systems. Position available immediately. Minimum requirements: High school diploma or GED. Possess a valid MN Class D Driver’s license. Skilled in operating equipment, mechanical systems, and general construction practices. Ability to perform physically demanding work in all types of weather. Must have basic computer skills, including email, word processing, and spreadsheet use. Ability to work independently and in collaboration with the City’s licensed water/ wastewater operator, other city personnel, and contractors. Ability to report to an emergency call within 30 minutes. The successful candidate must pass a pre-employment background check, physical and Drug and Alcohol Tests.

Starting Wage Range: $16.00 –$22.00 per hour/DOQ, plus benefits. Part-time: approximately 30 hours per week. This is a non-union position.
