2026 – 2027 MOWING BIDS FOR CEMETERY
The City of Alden is accepting quotes for mowing and lawn maintenance for the Alden Municipal Cemetery for the 2026 & 2027 mowing seasons. Quotes will be accepted through 4:00 PM on Friday, April 3rd. All quotes should include the cost per trimming occurrence and mowing/trimming combined, which would also include picking up of sticks, paper, cans, etc. Also, please include the cost of spraying for weeds if necessary. Details are available at the City Clerk’s Office, 174 Water Street, or by calling the City office at 507-874-3620. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all quotes.
The contracted party will provide his/her own equipment, including gas and oil; and will be responsible for his/her own insurance. The City will not be responsible in any way for anyone assisting with the work; all persons completing the work must be covered by the insurance of the contracted party.
The City requires a Certificate of Liability Insurance in the amount of not less than $500,000 covering the period of the mowing agreement.

The City of Freeborn is accepting applications for a part-time Public Works Maintenance Worker. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of city streets, storm sewer system, public buildings and grounds, parks, vehicles, and equipment. Will also assist with the repair, maintenance and monitoring of water and wastewater systems. Position available immediately.
Minimum requirements: High school diploma or GED. Possess a valid MN Class D Driver’s license. Skilled in operating equipment, mechanical systems, and general construction practices. Ability to perform physically demanding work in all types of weather. Must have basic computer skills, including email, word processing, and spreadsheet use. Ability to work independently and in collaboration with the City’s licensed water/ wastewater operator, other city personnel, and contractors. Ability to report to an emergency call within 30 minutes. The successful candidate must pass a pre-employment background check, physical and Drug and Alcohol Tests.
Starting Wage Range: $16.00 –$22.00 per hour/DOQ, plus benefits. Part-time: approximately 30 hours per week. This is a non-union position.
