The East Troy School Board was finally able to agree about the open board seat and lack of officers at a special meeting June 4. The meeting came about when board members found out late last week the pending referendum bond to build the new elementary school and make improvements at other

district facilities has to be signed by the School Board president. The board has been operating as a four-member board without officers since last month because the board members couldn’t agree on whom to appoint to the open seat that was left when the term Brian Wexler was filling out expired on the third Tuesday in April. The Village of Waterford is seeking qualified individuals to fulfill an Equipment & Water Operator position that reports to the Supervisor and Director of Public Works. The position performs the repair and maintenance related to Village streets, public works, water and sanitary sewer utilities. Applicants must possess a valid Wisconsin Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Ideal candidates should possess strong communication skills, knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment and tools used in the repair and maintenance of streets, sanitary and storm sewers, ditches, sidewalks and trees, working knowledge of water and sewer utility functions and underground utility construction. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and snow plowing experience required. Must possess the physical ability to sustain long workdays and able to function effectively in the outdoors in cold, hot or inclement weather. The position is classified as emergency personnel and must have the ability to respond to emergencies after hours. Employee is required to reside or establish residency within 15 miles of the Village limits within 6 months of hire. Additional requirements include high school diploma or GED and experience in a municipal public works department or public works construction experience in the position of equipment operator or laborer.
