River Ridge boys basketball defeats Black Hawk Le-Win Stockton CORRESPONDENT

The River Ridge Wildcats picked up a late victory in the 2024-2025 Illinois High School boys basketball season when they took on the Black Hawk Warriors on Feb. 29. Black Hawk, out of Wisconsin, made the short trip down to Hanover to take on the Wildcats. The Warriors have struggled throughout the

season, and they brought a record of 2-18 with them to Jo Daviess County. The Wildcats came into the matchup with an overall record of 14-15 themselves. They were fresh off a 67-55 loss to the Warren Warriors just a few days prior. Treyton Pafford had an epic night as he dropped 37 points, leading Warren to the victory. Bryce VanRaalte also had an ex-

ceptional double-double, finishing with 14 points and 15 rebounds in the win. That loss left the Wildcats two games below 50 and had them eager to bounce back into the win column. They made sure to do just that when Black Hawk came to town. Four different Wildcats scored in the opening quarter. River Ridge especially found success from deep, hitting a
