Three tips for finding a lost dog Before your dog ever goes missing, you can help protect your 1. pup. Leverage innovative technology designed to reunite dogs with the people who love them, like the recently launched Wag!

Tag, a smarter dog tag from the dog walking and sitting app Wag! Pet parents can use their smartphones to scan the unique code found on the tag to create a profile for their dog with important information, such as emergency and veterinary contacts, vaccination history, food and medicine allergies, and other relevant notes. If your dog ever goes missing, the person who finds your pup can scan the Wag! Tag with their smartphone to access the dog’s profile and contact you. The additional information on the profile can help that person contact someone else if you’re not available, as well as ensure your dog receives good care until you’re reunited. “Our love for dogs is what led us to launch the Wag! Tag,” says Wag! Use social media to get out the word. Post to your own 2. feed, asking friends and neighbors to share your post. Reach a wider audience by sharing your post on the pages of local community groups.

Dogs are important and adored members of their families, however, millions go missing every year. The reasons are varied and probably not all that surprising. A curious dog might jump over a fence or dig a hole under one. A pup might sneak out a door or gate inadvertently left open. Worn or broken leashes or collars could also allow a dog to escape your control. Regardless of how a dog is lost, what matters most is getting your pup back home. Here are three important steps to take before and after a dog goes missing:

We provide covered or uncovered litter boxes (whatever your kitty prefers), a scratching post, toys to stimulate and lots of love (only when they want it, of course!) We ask that ALL guests be leashed or crated from the car to the building. Clinic History

Winnebago Animal Clinic celebrated its 70th year of veterinary service in 2016. Dr. Paul T. Gambrel founded the clinic in 1946 primarily as a food animal practice. His father Dr. Earl T. Gambrel an equine practitioner from Byron joined him soon after. In 1955 Dr. Gene Gambrel joined the practice. Dr. Gene expanded the practices development in the area of companion animal practice. Dr. Dave Tanaglia worked in the practice as a veterinary student thru his first year as a graduate veterinarian in the late 70’s. In 2000 Dr. Tanaglia purchased the Gambrel Animal Clinic as part of a 4-clinic practice group. Shortly thereafter an extensive remodeling of the building took place. The lobby, exam rooms, and treatment areas were expanded and upgraded. The old boarding facility was completely demolished and a brand new spacious climate controlled facility was built. At the same time, Dr. Jared Williams joined the 4-clinic practice. With Dr. Gene Gambrel’s retirement in 2005 after 50 years of veterinary practice, Dr. Jared became the primary veterinarian at the Winnebago practice. In 2008 the Winnebago Animal Clinic became a separate entity again with Dr. Dave Tanaglia and Dr. Jared Williams as partners. Top tips for moving with a pet Pets may get the priority for perks when their humans relocate, but moving is still a stressful activity for animals. Half of pet owners reported their pets struggled to adjust to new homes. However, there’s good news: more than nine in 10 owners say their pets adjusted to new settings in less than a month. Your furball is part of the family, so if you’re like most, you don’t make major life decisions without thinking of your pet’s needs — including where you live and how you move into a new home. When people decide on new homes and communities, pet priorities are often equal to or more important than human-focused amenities, according to the 2019 Mayflower Mover Insights Survey. American pet owners say one-third of their overall decision to move was related to their pets. What’s more, survey respondents cited a willingness to pay significantly more in living costs per month (32 percent) and even forgo perks like shorter commutes and updated kitchens in favor of pet-friendly features.

Family seeking funds to acquire seizure dog Help this Rockford family get a seizure dog for their daughter. They need to raise $25,000. Jayne’s battle with epilepsy began the day after Thanksgiving, 2013 when she was just 18 months old. Jayne was in her highchair watching her mom and dad make dinner, when all of a sudden, she slumped over in her chair. She was rushed to the hospital where it took over an hour for her to regain consciousness. She was transferred to two different hospitals, ending up at American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison Wis., After a short stay and numerous tests, the doctors could not find out what happened to little Jayne and sent her home. A year passed without another episode, but a year to the day it all began again. This time, it was in the middle of a blizzard, and

the ambulance had to follow a plow to get to her. It took three more years of these gutwrenching seizures and rushing to the ER before she was diagnosed with epilepsy. Over the last six years, Jayne’s seizures have altered her world. She can no longer run around with other kids her age because any long periods of elevated heart rate can trigger her seizures. The seizures also affect her communication skills. Sometimes she has a very large vocabulary and can hold a conversation with you, and other times she cannot remember basic words like school. This has made it difficult for her to communicate with other kids and to make friends. During this past summer, Jayne was also diagnosed with BPAN Syndrome which is a neurodegenerative disease that affects the nervous system.

Because of this, Jayne’s symptoms will worsen as the years go by and make her day-to-day life more difficult to manage. We are raising money to provide Jayne a seizure alert dog to help her life in a variety of ways. Not only will this dog be able to alert an adult of a seizure, but he/she will also be an anchor of comfort and stability during her debilitating seizures. We are also hoping this dog will be able to open more doors for her to experience a normal life; from making her more approachable to other children, to helping her deal with the anxiety of doctor visits.
