The process fast tracks a patient with a heart attack directly into the cardiac cath lab where the occluded artery can be opened. Time is muscle; our Kenosha City/County and northern Illinois EMS providers recognize a heart attack in the field and activate the heart team directly, bypassing the Emergency Department. They prepare the patient for the procedure enroute.
