Both appeared fine and were secured. 8:42 p.m. – observed vehicle too close to fire hydrant on South Woodpine Drive. Left tag. 11:36 p.m. – observed vehicle with no rear registration plate on East Geneva Street. Was waiting on DMV to send plates. Verbally warned and advised not to drive vehicle until it has plates. Aug. 25 2:27 p.m. – observed logs out on street/curb outside of house on West Jefferson Street. Green tag left on door. 5:38 p.m. – took a report from a business about fraudulent orders that were being sent electronically on West Hidden Trail. 6:15 p.m. – caller stated water is bubbling up at sidewalk of neighbor’s house on North Broad Street. Called Water Department and they were already aware of the problem. They stated that the property owner was informed about the issue. 10:29 p.m. – north door open on East Centralia Street.
All okay inside. Officers were able to secure door. 11:48 p.m. – left without paying on South Lincoln Street. Was located was intoxicated and on probation. Brought back and paid. Probation placed a hold and was taken to jail. While getting out of the squad spit on officer and once inside spit on a corrections officer. Aug. 26 1 a.m. – dogs in truck barking with no windows down on East Commerce Court. Officers arrived and found a vehicle matching description with two small dogs inside. Dogs did not appear in distress. Vehicle owner stated he is checking on the dogs periodically and they did have food/ water. 1:33 p.m. – officer dispatched to a car versus deputy in the employee parking lot of the Sheriff’s Office on County Trunk NN. Driver did not see employee only signs and was not paying attention ultimately striking the squad. Cited for OWS fifth, no insurance and suspended registration. 4:07 p.m. – dispatched to meet with semi driver with over sized load on North Wisconsin Street that had its escort crew quit and needed assistance getting off the road until a replacement crew could arrive. 4:58 p.m. – wallet found at business turned over on West Hidden Trail. Officer left voice message for owner. Property owner called back and will stop in. 8:34 p.m. – car alarm keeps going off on West Gorman Street. Officer arrived and no

Ride given to apartment. 11:40 p.m. – observed a vehicle with both taillights out on South Lincoln Street. Made contact with the driver who admitted to not having a license and insurance. Cited.

Man allegedly dragged woman with car An initial appearance was adjourned until Sept. 24 for a Janesville man charged with dragging a woman with his car in Whitewater. Mantrell Teon Williams, 23, was charged Sept. 4 in Walworth County Circuit Court with second-degree recklessly endangering safety, disorderly conduct and reckless driving causing injury. According to the criminal complaint, Williams and a 21-year-old woman were arguing Aug. 4 at Jersey Mike’s in Whitewater over money Williams owed the woman. Both left the store, Williams got into his vehicle, the woman opened the passenger door of Williams’ vehicle and the pair continued to argue, according to the complaint. Williams then put the car in reverse and sped backward, dragging the woman. He started driving forward, ran over the woman’s foot and drove about 30 yards to the traffic light at Tratt and Main streets where the woman was able to let go of the door frame she was holding on to, the complaint states. Man charged with sexually assault An initial appearance was adjourned until Sept. 18 for an Elkhorn man charged with sexually assaulting a woman who was staying at his apartment. James E. Heath, 54, was charged Sept. 4 in Walworth County Circuit Court with second-degree sexual assault.
According to the criminal complaint, a 42-year-old woman reported awakening to Heath sexually assaulting her at his West Walworth Street apartment on Aug. 13. Heath told police he met the woman a few days prior and she had been staying at his place, according to the complaint. He said he and the woman had been drinking and talking, were on the couch together and Heath was massaging her legs, the complaint states. Heath said the woman was awake and speaking with him but was “out of it,” according to the complaint. The woman said she cooked food, cleaned up Heath’s apartment and fell asleep on the couch between 7:30 and 8 p.m. that night. She said she awoke to Heath touching her vagina, the complaint states.
Inmate found with child porn
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 28 for a Walworth County Jail inmate charged with having child pornography. Zachery J. Horsefall, 21, was charged Sept. 4 in Walworth County Circuit Court with five counts of possession of child pornography. After images of child pornography were found on Horsefall’s phone at the Walworth County Jail, his Snapchat account was searched, and police found nine photos of a prepubescent girl in the nude.
