Sometimes we exceed our own expectations

My parents encouraged me to stay involved with sports and band and I think me following through with that was probably the best decision I made in high school. I got to know so many great people in high school and I wouldn’t trade the memories I made during the last four years for anything.

The Class of 2020 rebuilt Comet pride

The Class of 2020 is incredibly unique. We will not be able to graduate the way we would like, or the way anyone else ever has in history. This is not the only unique thing about our class, however. Our class has always taken pride in any school activities or sporting events that have taken place. Over the past couple of years I have seen Comet pride diminish; however, I feel as though the Class of 2020 has brought the spirit back strongly. Whenever I would go to a band or choir concert, play or sporting event I would always see a group of 2020 students there, supporting their classmates and school. This increase of Comet pride is due to a respect for each other. I have always seen our class as a large family that has respected and supported each other. I’m proud to be a part of the Class of 2020.
There are many memories that I will take with me, but my favorites include being a part of a great student section at any game or match, watching the confetti go off after winning the homecoming game for football, and dancing to the Cha Cha Slide at any dance. Although my senior year was cut short I still was able to accomplish a lot. I was varsity captain of two sports – baseball and football – I strengthened many friendships, started dating my beautiful girlfriend, and earned the honor of salutatorian. I had a great senior year and this was due to the many great opportunities and education DelavanDarien High School provided. I decided I will be continuing my education at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, for its physical therapy program. I am excited to continue my journey into college and meet many new people and create

Officer transported to the jail without incident. 3:10 p.m. – officer observed debris in the roadway on North Lincoln Street. DPW contacted to remove. 5:32 p.m. – detective observed a vehicle parked in the no parking zone on South Lewis Street but the vehicle moved into a parking spot. As the occupants of the vehicle exited, officer recognized one who had warrants. Contact was made, advised had taken care of the warrant recently, which was confirmed by dispatch. 6:50 p.m. – large dog running at large on Sunny Hill Drive. Officer arrived and found the owner had the dog. 11:30 p.m. – observed a vehicle parked at a closed business on Proctor Drive. Vehicle was unoccupied. Officers checked the area and the building was secure. May 9 1:32 a.m. – vehicle parked over a sidewalk on North Cranberry Street. Placed a tag on the vehicle. 1:33 a.m. – male bothering truck drivers for a ride on East Commerce Court. Officer located the intoxicated
male and made contact with subject’s girlfriend. Subject was given a ride home and released. 8:55 a.m. – officer responded to a lockout on West Market Street. Was able to unlock vehicle for owner. 10:38 a.m. – officer waived down for a minor crash on Depot Lane. 4:25 p.m. – report of a vehicle that passed another vehicle was littering, then doing burn out at stop sign on Maclean Road. Last seen pulling behind high school. 8:27 p.m. – officer observed small fire in a backyard of house that was for sale on North Adams Street. Vehicle in driveway but no one was around. Will attempt to call vehicle owner to provide ordinance. May 10 12:42 a.m. – officer observed a rabbit injured on North Creek Drive. Fellow Mortals contacted and voicemail left as no after hours available currently. Rabbit was transported back to PD to shelter for night. Day shift took rabbit out to rural area. Rabbit hopped away – Fellow Mortals was advised. 9:50 a.m. – subject received something in the mail that is concerning on North Church Street. fire alarm on East Geneva Street. Officer responded with fire chief. Discovered alarm had been pulled by a young child so it was reset and all okay. 6:29 p.m. – could hear yelling at a child and doors slamming on North Sandy Lane. Contact made; advised 4 year-old was having a tantrum. The 4 year-old was upbeat with the officer and said he was crying because he wasn’t listening to his dad. Everything was okay and they were asked to try to keep the noise down. 8:22 p.m. – observed a vehicle fail to come to a complete stop on Mckenzie Lane. Vehicle stopped and driver issued a warning. 11:05 p.m. – officer heard an ATL for a reckless driver on southbound Interstate 43. Checked area after hearing the vehicle had crashed into guardrail in a construction zone. The vehicle was not on scene but checked the area and located vehicle at Love’s. Driver said they had just purchased vehicle an hour prior and a tire blew out causing crash. Paperwork showed transfer of vehicle. Attempted to get a hold of previous owner to verify transaction, but no answer. Driver was not impaired. Photographs taken of vehicle and crash scene. Driver was cited for not reporting an accident.

Drugs • Michael J. Kelly, 62, of Waterford; possession of narcotic drugs and possession of a controlled substance. Kelly was found with oxycodone and diazepam after crashing a vehicle into a detached garage in the Town of Sugar Creek on March 8, according to the criminal complaint. • Britnee D. Decamp, 25, of Elkhorn; possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, both as a party
to a crime. Decamp was found with 5.7 grams of marijuana, a vaporizer that contained suspected THC oil, packing sticks, rolling papers, cigarillos and an 8- by 11-inch sheet of THC wax in a vehicle she was driving that was pulled over at highways 89 and 14 in Darien at about 11:20 p.m. Jan. 16, according to the criminal complaint. A passenger later told a deputy Decamp wasn’t involved in the possession of the items, the complaint states. • Molly J. Lewallen, 32, of Elkhorn; possession of narcotic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lewallen was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped at highways 12 and 120 in the Town of Geneva at about 7:50 p.m. April 29. A K-9 unit detected drugs in the car, and Lewallen, whose 3or 4-year-old son was in the vehicle, was found with a heroin kit and 4 ml of heroin in a loaded syringe, according to the complaint. • Alexander S. Flores, 33, of Basset; possession of marijuana, carrying a concealed weapon, obstructing an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia, all as a repeater. Police were called to a Violet Road home in the Town of Bloomfield at about 7:15 p.m. April 19 regarding a domestic disturbance involving Ted J. Vosgerau, 31, according to the complaint. Flores came to the door, refused to identify himself and denied Vosgerau was there despite officers seeing Vosgerau peering through the blinds, the complaint states. Flores shined a flashlight at deputies to obscure their vision into the house and swore at them, according to the complaint. Flores was arrested and found with .3 grams of marijuana and a concealed knife, the complaint states.
