Court blotter The following people were charged with these Class H and I felony offenses in Walworth County Circuit Court between Oct. 9 and 16: Class H Class H, punishable by up to six years in prison and $10,000 in fines: Drugs • Paige M. Pickens, 34, of Salem; possession with intent to deliver a counterfeit Schedule I, II, III or IV drug as a party to a crime and possession of marijuana, both second and subsequent offense; and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the criminal complaint, Pickens was a passenger in a car stopped Oct. 2 in the Town of Lyons. Pickens had two warrants for her arrest out of Illinois, and marijuana, a cutting agent of methamphetamine, digital scales, a glass pipe and a “smuggler’s box” that contained white residue were found in the vehicle, according to the complaint. • Wayne M. The driver said Mikulski and another passenger planned to sell the cutting agent, representing it as meth, according to the complaint. Bail jumping • Kevin W. Sellers, 21, of Eagle; felony bail jumping and misdemeanor bail jumping. According to the criminal complaint, Sellers was found “extremely intoxicated” and registered .13 on a preliminary breath test at Kwik Trip in East Troy on Oct. 10. He was un-
der bond conditions in a felony case of battery or threat to a law enforcement officer and a misdemeanor case of resisting or obstructing an officer with conditions that he not consume alcohol, according to the complaint. • Jaiden L. Purnell, 17, of Delavan; two counts of felony bail jumping and misdemeanor bail jumping. According to the criminal complaint, Biehn went to an Elkhorn woman’s home twice and workplace in Elkhorn twice on Oct. 7 after being told he was not welcome there. He had previously texted the woman’s uncle and boyfriend, and, after being arrested and released on bond after the Oct. 7 incidents, he returned to the woman’s home Oct. 10, according to the complaint.

Driver of striking vehicle claimed sun was in eyes and did not see the pedestrian. 9:48 a.m. – theft of catalytic converters from RV units on West Deere Road. Met with investigator who gave a written statement and list of RV owners. Asked to call our agency. 1:11 p.m. – received call from employee regarding a Jeep that had been parked next to their building for more than a few weeks on North Wisconsin Street. Dispatch ran plate. Unable to locate business by that name. Contacted leaser who advised have it towed and they would pick it up from a tow company. 3:31 p.m. – Mobil called to report a gas drive off on North Wisconsin Street. Dispatch got a hold of vehicle owner who stated it was accidental and he would take care of it. Mobil called back and said caller-arranged payment. 3:47 p.m. – traffic control for homecoming parade on East Geneva Street. 6:25 p.m. – officer performed extra patrol for homecoming football game on East Geneva Street. 7:46 p.m. – stand by second half of game on East Geneva Street. Few people tried entering without tickets. Subjects left on their own, All okay. 11:05 p.m. – officer observed a bike near the bathrooms of Sunset Park on South Devendorf Street. Did not find anybody around. Oct. 3 5:22 a.m. – bike in the roadway on North Lincoln Street. Call in and transported the bike to the PD. 5:55 a.m. – responded to alarm at business, employee entered wrong security code upon arrival on East Commerce Court. No issues. 8:05 a.m. – municipal code violation on West Centralia Street. Spoke to home-
owner who stated trailer would be moved out of the street and put in driveway. 11:41 a.m. – officer called subject who stated car was hit on West Evergreen Parkway. Gave individual crash brochure. 1:04 p.m. – caller noticed that the side view mirror was damaged on their car that was parked in the road on North Sandy Lane. Officer spoke with complainant. Subject called insurance. 4:35 p.m. – officer located gate wide open on East Koopman Lane. Checked yard and all appeared okay. Called key holder they are working on installing new electric to the gate and possibly a worker forgot to shut. Officer was able to pull gate shut. 11:57 p.m. – officer observed an unoccupied vehicle at a closed business on North Wisconsin Street. Doors were unlocked. Checked the area and locked the vehicle. Oct. 4 12:38 a.m. – officer found unlocked door during building check on East Koopman Lane. Contact key holder and was able to re-secure door. 2:19 a.m. – found an open door on North Wisconsin Street. Officers cleared the building and secured the door. Tag was left at the entrance. 10:53 a.m. – responded to a safe observed in a dumpster on East Koopman Lane. Opened safe and it was empty. Appeared to have been discarded in businesses dumpster. Informed complainant. 12:48 p.m. – responded to ATM alarm on East Geneva Street. Officer found no signs of tampering. 1:47 p.m. – took report of hit and run where vehicle was struck from rear on South Lincoln Street. The back was scratched up, but no severe damage. Victim got a plate of vehicle from passerby.
6:22 p.m. – officer called to possible marijuana finding on South Lincoln Street. Worker was sweeping the lot and came across it. 7:34 p.m. – stop sign down on South Jackson Street. Officer was able to put back in ground. Will contact DPW to make sure secure. 10:30 p.m. – officer found doors unsecured during building check on West Deere Road. Checked interior left tag after re-securing doors. Oct. 5 12:54 a.m. – observed vehicle with trunk ajar on South Getzen Street. Nothing seems to be vandalized. Officer attempted to contact registered owner but had to leave voicemail. 1:57 a.m. – officer observed a vehicle going at a high rate of speed on East First Avenue. Driver was issued a verbal warning. 8:31 a.m. – officer responded to vandalism complaint on North Jackson Street. Caller showed vandalism and criminal damage to house and informed officer of suspects. Will attempt to make contact. 8:51 a.m. – subjects walking and found debit card on North Broad street. Will contact the owner. 4:55 p.m. – semi in front of Reed Furniture attempted to pull into lot and had mechanical problem on North Wisconsin Street. Is blocking one lane. 11:17 p.m. – officer observed outdoor gate open on East Koopman Lane. Aware of maintenance from previous incident. Checked area, doors and secured gate. Oct. 6 3:52 a.m. – officer found open door during foot patrol on East Walworth Street. Alarm was activated upon opening the door. Inner door still secure. Key holder contacted and advised. 4:57 a.m. – observed a vehicle going at a high rate of speed on South Wisconsin Street. Stopped and issued a
citation for speed. 1:30 p.m. – dog running at large on North Sandy Lane. Unable to catch it. 2:48 p.m. – stopped for speed on East First Avenue. Citation issued. 3:08 p.m. – assistance with custody on County Trunk H. Officer took subject into custody and transported to the Walworth County Jail without incident. 5:48 p.m. – burglar alarm on Park Lane. Officers arrived and found the front door ajar. Phone contact made with the resident who walked outside to officers. All was ok. 8:02 p.m. – dispatched to barking dog that sounds injured on Pinecrest Lane. Officer made contact with female packing up a vehicle. It was her dog and she was visiting a relative. Dog was healthy and barking normally.
Oct. 7 12:27 a.m. – officer dispatched to back up deputy for a suspicious vehicle on West Hidden Trail. Driver was suspended and had a handgun and pepper spray on him. Another BB handgun was in vehicle. Had valid CCW. Deputy issued citation for OWS. Drove subject back to where he was staying. 5:06 a.m. – observed vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on North Wisconsin Street. Officer confirmed with radar and initiated stop. Driver did not have DL on him. Verbal for driving without license on person. Cited for speed. 9:26 a.m. – dog locked owner out of vehicle on Oconnor Drive. Unlocked. 4:17 p.m. – semi pulled into lot struck a sign and left on North Lincoln Street. Able to make contact with the driver stated he was not aware of striking the sign at business. Officer requested the driver send photographs of the truck along with his license.

This year’s event, “The Magic of Giving,” will include a silent and live auction, a paddle raise, a raffle, and highlighting some of the individual nonprofits that will benefit from funds raised. Entertainment will be provided by renowned magician, Tristan Crist.
Giving Back to Our Community Sometimes the sun shines and the road is clear, while at other times we get hit with an unexpected storm or flat tire. Whatever happens, in a community such as ours, someone is always there to lend a helping hand.
Each year the Keefe Kares Foundation has held an annual celebration to help raise funds for local nonprofit organizations. The celebration is open to the public with live and silent auctions. In 2019, the event raised $45,000 that went toward supporting 33 different local nonprofit organizations.
Over the past 25 years, Keefe Real Estate has been proud to play a role in supporting our local community. We focus this support through our Keefe Kares program, a 501(c)3 organization run and supported by Keefe associates.
