Left tag with not explaining requirements, one week to confirm compliance. 4:36 p.m. – flagged down by subject who reported a suspicious vehicle in driveway on South Davis Court. Made contact the subject was an insurance agent there for a scheduled meeting. 8:45 p.m. – observed a vehicle with a headlight out on North Wisconsin Street. Officer made stop and issued a verbal warning.

Driver cited. 3:25 p.m. – officer running radar and observed vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on North Jackson Street. Issued citation. 7:24 p.m. – neighbor pounding on the wall and swearing on East Hartwell Street. On going issue. Witness up to three apartments down could hear pounding. Officer attempted to make contact but wouldn’t answer the door. Charges will be referred. 9:49 p.m. – officer dispatched to car in the ditch on Highway 12. Arrived and learned a passer by was going to assist. Provided traffic control. Vehicle was removed without incident.

Officers found an open door on the east side of the building. 7:27 a.m. – dispatched to an alarm on East Geneva Street. Officer arrived and found employee set it off on accident. 9:38 p.m. – officers observed a vehicle with taillight out on the rear driver side on North Wisconsin Street. The vehicle was stopped and driver was issued a written warning. 11:19 p.m. – made contact with subject in parking lot on East Geneva Street. Subject stated vehicle would not start and needed a jump. Vehicle was started and was letting the battery charge. No assistance needed.

Elkhorn FFA members shine at convention

Additional Elkhorn FFA members attended the convention and also played contributing roles, serving as volunteers for the FFA Rally to Fight Hunger food packaging event, reflections session assistants and courtesy corps. During the Rally to Fight Hunger, Elkhorn FFA members partnered with other FFA members from throughout the state to package nearly 40,000 pounds of food to be distributed to Wisconsin food pantries. Elkhorn FFA members and supporters also competed in events at the convention and received recognition. Competitors included the Conduct of Meetings Team, which competed at state level competition, and the FFA Talent Show, where Macie Kruse earned gold rating and nominated for national consideration for her hip hop dance performance. Earning awards were the following: • Leo Ehlen: Wisconsin FFA Degree; • Growmark Essay Contest: Douglas Woyak was a top five finalist with the essay theme, “What does the future of agriculture look like?” • Middle School Essay Contest: Macie Kruse was a 4th place state finalist with the essay theme, “Just One”: • Elkhorn Area School District was awarded the School Leo Ehlen (center) with parents Joel and Angie Ehlen District Recognition for their year of support hosting multiple earned the Wisconsin FFA Degree at the Wisconsin FFA FFA events; Convention. Last summer, Elkhorn FFA members joined 450 Wisconsin FFA members to help package 40,000 pounds of food with Second Harvest Food Bank of Southern Wisconsin.
