Michael Ptak Sworn in as Bensenville Police sergeant
At the Aug. 14 Village Board meeting, Village President Frank DeSimone swore in Michael Ptak as a Police Sergeant for the Bensenville Police Department. The position became available after Sergeant Kevin Hermes retired from the Department on July 1. Ptak has been with the Department since 2000 and had been assigned to the Investigations Unit since 2003. “With his 18+ years of experience with the Bensenville Police Department, Sergeant Ptak will serve as a great replacement for this position,” said DeSimone. Sergeant Ptak is a member of the DuPage Major Crime Task Force and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Xavier University. His wealth of knowledge and experience resulted in him being ranked number one on the current sergeant’s promotion list. His family and many Bensenville Police Officers attended the meeting to congratulate Sergeant Ptak on the promotion. SUBMITTED PHOTO Bensenville Independent
