Law Enforcement Hockey Classic held to support Honor Flight Chicago The Law Enforcement Hockey Classic took place on March 1 at The Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, and it was a spectacular success, benefiting Honor Flight Chicago. Funds raised from this event will contribute towards furthering Honor Flight Chicago’s mission of recognizing senior war veterans with a journey to Washington D.C. Village President Frank DeSimone kicked off the event by welcoming the crowd to the game while joined by emcee Rick Hall of Throwback 100.3 and featured a rousing performance of our National Anthem by celebrated soloist Wayne Messmer. “The Village of Bensenville is grateful to all attendees for joining in this exciting evening of sportsmanship, philanthro-
py, and remembrance,” said Village President Frank DeSimone. Team FBI Chicago won the game 7-0, breaking the streak by Chicago Police Hockey. In addition to the thrilling hockey action, attendees enjoyed fun games like ChuckA-Puck, explored the silent auction, and took part in a dedicated family fun area with activities for all ages. The Law Enforcement
Hockey Classic is one of Honor Flight Chicago’s largest fundraisers. Honor Flight Chicago is a not-for-profit organization committed to honoring senior war veterans by flying them to Washington D.C. for a day of honor at no cost to them. Over 11,000 veterans have been honored through this organization. For more information about Honor Flight Chicago, visit honorflightchicago.org or call 773-227-8387.

idents an opportunity to engage directly with park district leadership, ask questions and offer feedback on the renovation. The district announced the renovation in 2024, indicating that the Veterans Park project would include a dog park, complete with signage, fence repair, gate installation, pet waste stations, shelters and landscape
improvements. Additionally, the project will include building maintenance and infrastructure improvements as well as updates to the Bensenville Railroad Museum, including, but not limited to, ADA access.
