Addison Trail hosts Senior Recognition Assembly
On May 15, members of the Addison Trail class of 2025 were recognized for their achievements and outstanding academic and athletic successes during the school’s Senior Recognition Assembly. The student emcees were seniors Santino Dill and Keren Solis Escamirosa. Remarks also were made by Principal Jack Andrews. During the event, students were celebrated for winning scholarships, receiving academic honors from the College Board National Recognition Program, being selected as recipients of the President’s Award for Educational Excellence, earning State Scholar status, being named as Outstanding Senior department award recipients, receiving the State Seal of Biliteracy recognition and/or the State Commendation toward Biliteracy recognition, qualifying for state-level competitions and more. About $200,000 in awards and scholarships was presented to the recipients. The 2024-25 staff retirees were highlighted as well. They are Lisa Crotty, Laura DiNatalie, Tim Homan, James “Jim” Perusich, Vicki Ream, Charlene “Char” Restivo and Matt Thompson. Staff member Robert “Rob” Schader was recognized as the 2024-25 Outstanding Achievement Award recipient. District 88 installs Board of Education members During a recent District 88 Board of Education meeting, the district installed returning/ incumbent Board members Christine “Chris” Poirier, Diana Stout and Jean Taylor, who were elected during the April 1 Consolidated Election. District 88 Board of Education President Donna Craft Cain administered the Oaths of Office. Poirier is the parent of two District 88 graduates and sat on many school committees, including the Citizens Advisory Council, the Parent Transition-Reopening Com-
mittee, the Music Booster Club and the Willowbrook Parent Organization. She currently is on the board’s Addison Trail Citizens Advisory Council, Curriculum Council, Wellness Committee/ Employee Recognition and represented the district this year as a Delegate for the Illinois Association of School Boards. Stout is the parent of three District 88 graduates and also served as a member of the District 45 Board of Education for eight years. She participated in the Athletic Booster Club and
the Willowbrook Parent Organization. Stout currently is on the board’s Willowbrook Citizens Advisory Council and Finance Committee and was recognized as an Established Board Leader by the Illinois Association of School Boards this year. Taylor is the parent of two District 88 graduates and also is an alumna herself. She was part of the Willowbrook Parent Organization, the Athletic Booster Club and the Citizens Advisory Council. She also volunteered to help coordinate the Young
Hearts for Life cardiac screenings at the school, as well as the Dennis Doyle 3-on-3 Classic District 88 Foundation Basketball Tournament. Taylor currently is on the board’s Willowbrook Citizens Advisory
Council, Finance Committee and Policy Committee and has taken a leadership role with the District 88 Foundation. Poirier, Stout and Taylor will join Board members Donna Craft Cain, Amy Finnegan,
Gail Galivan and Dan Olson. The following officers were then elected for a two-year term: President: Donna Craft Cain; Vice President: Dan Olson; Secretary: Christine “Chris” Poirier.
