KEYLESS ENTRY UPDATES
SCCR is currently in the process of updating keyless entry systems across the properties we manage. If you visit your cabin and find that your previous door code is no longer active, your updated code is the last four digits of the phone number we have on file for your account.
This transition is happening in stages, so not every property will be updated at the same time. If your code is still working as expected, no action is needed on your end.
If you'd prefer a different door code, or if you have any questions about where things stand with your property, our Owner Relations team is glad to help. Reach them directly at ownerrelations@southerncomfortcabinrentals.com.
SEASONAL FAQS
Q: What exterior maintenance should I be doing each spring to keep my cabin guest-ready?
A: A good pressure wash clears out everything that built up over winter and gives you a clear picture of whether the wood surfaces need staining. If the wood is looking weathered or water isn’t beading the way it should, staining is worth doing now rather than putting it off another season. Owner Relations can provide a quote for you from our local partners.
Q: When should I schedule my spring deep clean?
A: Ideally, you’ll want a deep clean completed before Memorial Day weekend — that’s when summer traffic picks up in earnest. A spring deep clean goes well beyond a standard turnover: think baseboards, ceiling fans, window tracks, behind appliances, and inside cabinets. To schedule a deep clean reach out to Owner Relations and they will be happy to assist you.
Q: How does SCCR handle HVAC maintenance heading into the warmer months?
A: We change HVAC filters on a monthly basis across the properties we manage, so that piece is already covered. Where spring prep comes in is on the bigger-picture system health — coil cleaning, checking drainage lines, and making sure the unit is ready to run efficiently through the summer. We can coordinate that service through our trusted vendors and schedule it around your guest calendar. If you’d like to get something on the books before peak season, reach out to Owner Relations and they’ll take care of it.
Q: Spring in the mountains means pests. What’s reasonable to expect owners to handle proactively?
A: The short answer is: a little prevention now saves a lot of headaches in July. The most common issues in this area are ants, yellow jackets, and the occasional mouse finding its way in as temperatures shift. A perimeter treatment from a licensed pest control vendor in April covers most of it.
FRESH EYES
WHY UPDATED PHOTOGRAPHY PAYS OFF THIS SEASON
If your property photos haven’t been updated in a year or more, spring is the right time to revisit them. Guests make booking decisions quickly, and your listing images are often the first — and most lasting — impression your cabin makes. Photos that accurately reflect the current condition and character of your property do more to convert a browsing guest into a confirmed reservation than almost anything else.
A lot can change in a season. New furniture, updated decor, a freshly stained deck, or even just better natural light can make a property feel entirely different on screen. If your current photos were taken before any of those improvements, you may be underselling what your cabin actually offers.
Elevated photography doesn’t have to mean a major production. A professional shoot timed to spring — when the landscaping is green, the light is soft, and the property is freshly prepped — can yield images that carry your listing through an entire year of marketing. We work with trusted photographers in the area and can help coordinate a session around your booking calendar. Reach out to Owner Relations to get the conversation started.
