THE COMFORT COLLECTIVE
Welcome to Tiny Pines, a dog-
Be the First to Experience Our Newest Mountain Getaway
Mountain community in Ellijay,
friendly cabin in the gated Walnut Georgia, designed for groups of up to ten. This three-level home was built for the crowd whose favorite vacation photo is a scoreboard: a dedicated arcade room with Street Fighter and NBA Jam arcade games a game room with a pingpong and pool conversion table, and a hot tub for seven on the deck waiting on the patio. Somebody claims the accent chair by the gas fireplace, the Blackstone griddle takes over dinner, and the wood-burning fire pit collects the whole group for the last hour of the night. Downtown Ellijay and its apple orchards are about fifteen minutes away, and Blue Ridge is less than thirty, so the tournament, the hot tub, and the town all stay within reach.

HALLOWEEN IN THE NORTH GEORGIA MOUNTAINS October in these mountains has a double billing. The leaves put on the show everybody drives up for, and behind it, the towns run a full month of festivals, haunts, and costume contests that most visitors never hear about. Tiny Pines sits in the middle of all of it, fifteen minutes from the Ellijay events and twenty-nine from Blue Ridge. The final Apple Festival weekend. The 55th Georgia Apple Festival closes out its run October 17 and 18 at the Ellijay Lions Club Fairgrounds, more than two hundred vendors strong with crafts, cider, and live music. Admission is $10, children 12 and under are free, and the apple doughnuts are worth the trip by themselves. Orchard days. The orchards around Ellijay keep festival hours every weekend through the end of October. B.J. Reece Orchards runs U-pick apples and a pumpkin patch seven days a week, and Hillcrest Orchards holds its weekend festival with apple picking straight through Halloween. Bring a pie pumpkin home for the Tiny Pines kitchen. Grown-up frights. On October 17, Cress Creeks Farm in Ellijay hosts the Wicked Harvest Costume Party, a DJ, costume prizes, and a maze navigated by flashlight. The Haunted Barrel Room at Roo Mountain Vineyards runs three Halloween weekends, October 16 through 18, 23 through 25, and 30 through November 1, with wine, seasonal bites, and ghost stories drawn from Appalachian folklore. And on the Fridays of October, the Haunted Blue Ridge Ghost Tour walks downtown Blue Ridge by lantern light.
Family Halloween. The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway runs its Trick or Treat Train on October 31, costumed crew and candy on board, arriving in McCaysville in time for the twin cities’ 6 to 8 PM trick or treat. In downtown Blue Ridge the same evening, East Main Street closes to traffic for the Halloween Safe Zone, with a costume contest at 5:30 open to kids, adults, and dogs. The Swan Drive-In runs a dusk-tilldawn Halloween movie marathon October 24 and 25, with breakfast at 5 AM for whoever survives it. Closer to home. Trick or treaters staying at Tiny Pines can join the pumpkin patch and trunk or treat at CATE Farms, or stay in and let the fire pit and the arcade tournament carry the night. The hot tub seats seven, and costumes are optional.

PLUG IN & STAY AWHILE
More guests are arriving in the mountains on a charge, and the best version of that trip is the one where the car takes care of itself. A cabin with EV charging turns the errand into downtime: plug in on arrival, and the car recharges while dinner comes together and the fire pit finds its crowd. No midpoint charging stops, no detours into town on an empty gauge, just the drive up and the driveway. Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals keeps a collection of homes with EV charging amenities, including The Seven Hills, Wolf Branch Retreat, Rivendell, and Blue Fox Lodge, and the main office in Blue Ridge has a charging station as well. Charging setups vary by home, so the team confirms the equipment for your reservation before you book. Bring your own charging cord, ask about connectors and adapters for your vehicle, and check the charging speed so you can plan your days around it. If the office station fits your plans better, call ahead to confirm access hours, availability, and any usage fees. Then the mountain does the rest. A morning drive to the orchards, an afternoon on the trails, and the car sits ready in the driveway each time you come back down. Read the full guide, including the pre-booking checklist and our EV-friendly rentals. SoCo Blog THE COMFORT COLLECTIVE
