Welcome to Great Trails Lodge, a four-bedroom mountain retreat set on thirty private acres in Epworth, Georgia, approximately twentyfour minutes from downtown Blue Ridge. This property is defined by the land around it. Two miles of manicured trails wind through hardwoods and mountain laurel, and somewhere along the route lies a treasure hunt, a series of way points that gives guests of all ages a reason to slow down, explore, and linger a little longer.
Sleeping ten across two levels, Great Trails Lodge features three king bedrooms, a twin bunk room, a lower-level entertainment room with a retro arcade table and wet bar, a hot tub for eight, a private pickleball court, and a fire pit area ringed with Adirondack chairs. Two gas fireplaces, a backup generator, and on-demand hot water round out the experience. It is a property designed for groups who want to stay active during the day and return to comfort each evening.

Great Trails Lodge sits on thirty private acres of North Georgia hardwood forest just outside Epworth. Here, the land is not incidental to the stay. It is the stay. Two miles of manicured trails wind through the property in long, graceful loops, passing beneath stands of oak and mountain laurel before opening into quiet clearings spacious enough for a picnic table. The trail surface is well maintained, the grade is easy to walk, and the dense canopy creates the feeling of being far deeper in the mountains than you actually are.
Somewhere along the route is the treasure hunt. Designed in the spirit of geocaching, it features a series of way points to find and follow, offering just the right amount of adventure. It works equally well for adults enjoying a slow Saturday afternoon and for kids eager for something to track and discover.
The trail entrance begins at the landscaped hillside just beyond the cabin. The grounds are thoughtfully maintained, and the transition from lodge to woodland feels immediate. On a clear morning, before the coffee is brewing and the house is fully awake, it is the first place worth wandering toward.

Comfortable Living Spaces
The entry-level living room serves as the home’s main gathering space. A gas fireplace anchors one end of the room, while a spacious sectional offers plenty of seating at the center. Across from it, a 65-inch Smart TV creates an easy setup for movie nights or relaxed evenings indoors. Direct access to the upper deck keeps the transition between indoor and outdoor living seamless throughout the day.
Just off the living area, the kitchen is thoughtfully equipped for group meals and extended stays. A Keurig coffee machine, pantry closet, and full set of cookware and kitchen essentials make everything from quick breakfasts to family dinners easy to manage. The breakfast bar seats three for casual meals, while the dining table comfortably accommodates six.

Great Trails Lodge comfortably sleeps ten guests across four bedrooms spread over two levels. Three king bedrooms, each with a walk-in closet, are thoughtfully distributed between the entry and lower levels, offering privacy and flexibility for groups. The twin bunk room on the lower level features two sets of twin bunk beds and direct deck access, making it an especially fun setup for younger guests or early risers eager to head outside.
Two full bathrooms serve the home, with one on each level. The entrylevel bath includes a single vanity and walk-in shower, while the lowerlevel bath offers a double vanity and a shower-tub combination, providing convenience for larger groups and families.

The lower level moves at its own pace, creating a dedicated space for evening entertainment and late-night gathering. A second gas fireplace anchors one end of the entertainment room, while a 75-inch Smart TV and comfortable sectional seating define the other. At the center of the room, a custom retro arcade table adds a playful focal point and often keeps the group downstairs longer than expected.
The wet bar is well equipped for relaxed evenings in, featuring a wine fridge, dishwasher, and second full-size refrigerator, ideal for longer stays when keeping extra groceries and drinks close at hand matters. Board games and a collection of cards add to the experience, making the space just as suited for quiet competition as casual conversation. Deck access from the lower level gives the entertainment floor its own connection to the outdoors when the evening calls for fresh mountain air.

Outdoor Living
The outdoor spaces at Great Trails Lodge are layered, intentional, and designed for gathering. The upper deck serves as the main dining and social space, featuring a gas fire table, outdoor lounge seating, a dining setup for six, a picnic table for four, a gas grill, and a covered 50-inch Smart TV. It easily accommodates morning coffee, leisurely lunches, and the early evening hours before the group naturally migrates downstairs.
The lower deck centers around the hot tub for eight. It is the ideal place to unwind after a long trail walk or a competitive pickleball match, and the deck’s layout ensures it feels like a destination rather than an afterthought. For many guests, it becomes the final stop of the night.
A manicured stone walkway leads from the cabin toward the trees, where the firepit sits in a cleared circle surrounded by six Adirondack chairs. Just beyond the walkway lies the full-sized private pickleball court, fully equipped and ready for play. Cornhole boards are also available on the grounds.

This parade started in the 1950’s and it is a time for all of Blue Ridge to come together and celebrate the 4th of July as well as the way Blue Ridge, Georgia used to be. Bring your antique vehicles, dress in period attire or not, it’s up to you!
Downtown Ellijay Fireworks
Don’t miss the 4th of July Parade as it rolls through downtown, featuring decorated floats, community groups, and plenty of red, white, and blue. Stick around after the sun goes down for a fireworks show at dusk to cap off the evening.
Blairsville Fourth of July Celebration at Vogel State Park
July 4th in Blairsville features a full day of activities at Vogel State Park, including a 5K, parade, and concert, paired with evening fireworks at Meeks Park.
