Learning Outside Of The Classroom
Belchamps Scout Activity Centre Belchamps Scout Activity Centre in Hockley, Essex opened in 1936 to provide camping experiences and fun for young people in scouting. Set in 30 acres of camping fields and woods, the centre also boasts a wide range of activities, including Archery, Rock Climbing, High Ropes, Bushcraft, Fencing, and even classic scouting activities such as campfires, all available for residential school trips and day visits. Belchamps offers four main residential buildings, sleeping from 14 – 56 people, the site also had a tented village which can sleep up to 36 people. The site is open all year round, and can offer residential fully catered packages of different durations, and also day visit activity days, including nature days. In the winter months the site is still open for residential visits, with a discounted price also!
