A blueprint for comprehensive tax reform developed by national tax experts at the Tax Foundation, in 2018. The RoadMap identifies problems in our tax code and makes dozens of recommendations to fix them, including two key findings that the business community strongly supports: (1) lower our top personal income tax rate of 7%, currently the highest in the Southeast; and (2) simplify and standardize our complex business license tax system which the Tax Foundation calls “South Carolina’s most absurd tax.”
