Reading between the lines Community advocacy group Protect Our GarCo Libraries gathered with supporters in Centennial Park in Glenwood Springs on Saturday, Oct. 19. Aside from a reading of “The Lorax” by Dr. Seuss and a costume contest, attendees were there on serious business. After meeting in the park, participants marched to the county administration building to post a petition on its front door calling for the rescission of Resolution 2024-12. The resolution, passed by the county commissioners in March, solidified the commission’s control of library board member appointments.
Over 1,300 community members have signed the petition.
