VALENTINES DAY MAKE A WISH

EASTER

This Easter, Bluebird Care showed appreciation to their dedicated carers by presenting each of them with a delightful Easter egg Adding a touch of excitement, six fortunate customers were granted with a Golden Ticket This ticket gave each winner the privilege to select from a range of prizes, including an hour of complimentary care, a coffee and cake session, a trip to the garden centre, afternoon tea to their home, or a luxurious hamper. Bluebird Care also showed appreciation to our local doctors surgeries. We visited them with a tasty bag of goodies to show our appreciation and thanks from all of our customers.

Bluebird Care spread the love by giving the customers and carers an opportunity to enter our Genie in a Bottle campaign We have been running this campaign for the past three years. This enables our customers and carers to share their wishes and for us to bring some of them true.

We have had wishes from a trip to the coffee shop, afternoon tea, flowers, a steak meal to share as husband and wife, to a cinema trip and a date night

SUPPORTING AND INVOLVEMENT WITH LOCAL CHARITIES

Your donation will support crucial research and help develop better solutions for preventing and treating mental ill health, effecting 1 in 6 people every week Together we can make a difference in improving mental health and raising awareness about it’s importance to support each individual who may suffer

WOODLEY CARNIVAL

In June 2023 & 2024 Bluebird Care held a stall raising money for Thames Hospice Woodley carnival is an event that has been organised since 1960 and has been in the heart of the community ever since We are proud to say we raised an amount of £386. We hosted hook a duck, guess how many sweets in the jar and pick a lolly These games brought the attention of the children who were looking to have a bit of fun Hook a duck was definitely the favourite game of the day.

LIVE-IN CARE

Graham joined Bluebird Care in 2012. He started off with having one visit a week to have support with a bath Whilst Graham’s parents have supported him throughout his life, they were supporting with more aspects of his care as Graham’s health progressed.

As time went on, Graham’s mobility got a little worse, and he needed more support from Bluebird Care. In 2016, Graham started to have 2 visits a day and then onto having sleep-in visits Unfortunately, Graham was shortly admitted to hospital and it became apparent that his health and care needs had increased.

After this, he requested our live-in care services to support him at home Since 2017, it has been possible for Graham to stay at home, whilst having 24-hour care. He has had three regular carers, who he really gets on with, and has built a fantastic relationship with Graham has always had optimal support from his family throughout his life and they have also supported the carers to ensure they have everything needed to support Graham His physical health has gradually deteriorated over the years but the carers have adapted with any change to ensure that Graham remains safe at home.

Graham has always had a sharp mind and a dry sense of humor. Graham has thrived with certain types of carers that know how to laugh with him and enjoy watching his favourite classic comedies such as Only Fools and Horses

Graham said “It’s been a lot better for me having someone stay with me 24 hours a day as it gives me the time to do things, as and when I would like. I have had great support from Renata one of my regular carers It feels like I have a friend in her rather than a carer I can have a laugh and take the mickey out of her”. When I first started, it was quite scary. There were up ’ s and down’s in which I was still getting use to things Not only that, being away from my home was difficult Once I met Graham and his family, it felt like home and everything fitted into place They treat me like their own family, which I am really thankful for. If I ever get a chance, I would like to speak to new carers, and reassure them of what’s to come, and that it is not that scary in the end.”

CARERS WEEK 10TH-16TH

JUNE

Carers Week is an annual campaign in the United Kingdom dedicated to raising awareness about the challenges faced by unpaid carers, recognising their contributions, and ensuring they receive the support they need

This year for Carers Week we paid attention to all of our unpaid family members who provide 24 hour care all year round for their loved ones

We done this by sending a thank you card from the entire office with a message inside “ Its Carers Week where we get to recognise and appreciate the unpaid carers that support the ones we care about It’s the perfect time to recognise and celebrate all the incredible work you do. We know it’s not always easy, but you make such a big difference in ‘ persons ’ life, your commitment does not go unnoticed. If you ever need anything or just want to chat, don’t hesitate to reach out Thanks again for being such a wonderful person and an awesome relative”

As well as the thank you card was also a succulent plant. By gifting someone with a living plant, you ' re acknowledging their ability to care, love, and nurture

We are proud to have many family members supporting our customers and that are willing to do anything for their loved ones.
