We produce fashions and homewares that customers love, high quality, delivered on time, hassle-free from yarn till delivery at your door. We work with underprivileged women in the poor regions of the Andean highlands in Peru, providing the education and training they need to become world-class handknitters. They are united by Solid in fair workshops and community groups that provide meaningful and decent work for those vulnerable, underprivileged yet powerful and strong women. Many of our artisans had never been to school. For many, working at Solids workshop is the first time they feel valued, and their self-esteem is growing.
Bringing these ladies together, away from their domestic often harsh and violent life has created a wonderful sisterhood. Our workshop is their safe place. This connection is an integral part of Solid which is touching the hearts of brands and consumers around the world. We are building a fair women’s business which is handknitting the world together. All of Solid’s lovely pieces have been completely handmade with love in a fair way by local Peruvian, Indian and Kenyan women from poor regions in the highlands, remote areas or wildlife regions. We really appreciate your interest in our workshops and handcrafted fair-trade products.
