Cellist Holly Reeves enjoys a varied career as an orchestral player, chamber musician, and private teacher. Holly has toured with ensembles in Japan, Costa Rica, France, Great Britain, Italy, and the United States. She was a founding member of the Anacapa String Quartet, an ensemble that established a highly-regarded chamber series in Santa Barbara and gave concerts nationally. As a member of Anacapa, she was a prize winner at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and was twice invited to compete at the Evian International String Quartet Competition.

Holly is well-known to Olympia audiences as principal cello of the Olympia Symphony. This year marks her twenty-eighth season with the group. She is also a long-time member of the acclaimed chamber orchestra Northwest Sinfonietta. Holly has been a featured soloist with the Olympia Symphony and has appeared on the Governor’s Mansion series, the Abbey series at Saint Martin’s University, and with Emerald City Music. FUTURE MUSIC MAKER'S SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Although our fees to participate in SOGO are reasonable, they are still a barrier for many families. We believe young musicians benefit from participating in SOGO’s programs and should not be prohibitive because of economic circumstances. For that reason, SOGO is reaching out to begin building the Future Music Makers Scholarship Fund.

Children interested in joining SOGO have their family member complete a simple application form. Based on their interest and demonstrated

financial need, up to half the tuition fees can be awarded. All information is kept confidential.

The Future Music Makers Scholarship Fund is supported by committed community members to prevent financial circumstances from becoming an obstacle to any young musician’s participation in SOGO’s orchestras. A robust fund will ensure that all young musicians will have equal opportunity to experience the highquality programming SOGO offers the South Sound area.
