EXT.

CITY STREET OF LONDON - 1970 - DAY

On a bustling city street, a MAN, not apparently different from the rest apart from his unconventional clothes, stops, begins setting up a tall metal stand, then places a MICROPHONE atop it. Tapping it, he produces a loud sound that gets everyone's attention including the PERSON in an adjacent office window. Then he makes his announcement.

MAN

Please!

(The microphone makes another loud sound that gets everyone infuriated)

Believe me when I say this is of vital importance for all of us. They are back I know you don’t want to believe me, but I promise This morning, in my graveyard, I found the mark We cannot allow ourselves to act blind to what’s to come. The councils are playing politics, but we can’t follow the game. The darkness we most feared is coming back and we can’t wait to be told to act if we don’t want it to be too late. They’ll son be on our doorstep, and who knows how long we’ll be able to keep the door closed if no one outside dares to see the truth. They are coming back. They are

A bang on the table keeps the PERSON in the office from watching the MAN in the street.

BOSS

What are you looking at? The documents are on the table, not outside the window.

PERSON

Right, sorry, I He looks through the window again, then back to his boss. I’m sorry, I have to go.

BOSS

Oliver!

OLIVER doesn’t look at his boss again while he calls his name. He leaves the ancient building as soon as he can, entering the crowd trying to reach the MAN, but he’s not there anymore.

OLIVER (muttering) Fuck.

He takes a pocket watch out of his coat, and as soon as he sees the hour he nervously runs a hand through his hair, frowning his lips, trying to decide what to do, then he sighs and starts walking through the crowd again.

INT. RAYMOND’S HOUSE - DAY

RAYMOND is working by the fireplace of his classic but well-off house, while he hears OLIVER’s voice from outside the door

(V.O.) OLIVER

I know you’re not talking to me.

RAYMOND

You’re more than right.

OLIVER

I know you don’t want me here.

RAYMOND

Again, clever boy.

OLIVER

But I swear to the gods if you don’t let me in I’ll kick off the door.

RAYMOND

Always so dramatic.

OLIVER

I’m serious, Raymond, could you for once stop being so freaking childish and start acting like the twenty year old man you are? you can throw whatever you want in my face once I tell you this, I promise, but at least let me talk first because I have run away from my job while my boss was talking to me and I have no one else to turn to and

RAYMOND

Are you finish?

OLIVER Almost.

RAYMOND

Well, the door is open. Of course, you can stay out and breathe some air. It sounds like you need it.

OLIVER enters the house, trying to kill RAYMOND with his look.

RAYMOND Well?

OLIVER sat on the couch next to him, not really looking at him.

RAYMOND realises OLIVER might not be exaggerating this time

RAYMOND

What is it? Have you lost your cat again?

OLIVER

Angus is fine, thanks for asking.

There’s a pause, RAYMOND waits for him to speak again.

OLIVER

They know it. They know we’re here. I told you it was a matter of time for you to find out I told you

RAYMOND

Stop right there. What are you talking about?

OLIVER

I saw one of them on the streets. He said

RAYMOND

I don’t care what he said, did anyone believe him?

OLIVER

I don’t know.

RAYMOND

Did he sound believable?

OLIVER frowns, not really understanding how that matters.

OLIVER

That’s not the point. They will believe it eventually.

RAYMOND

Not if we stop it. Have you spoken to someone else?

OLIVER

You mean ELEANOR?

RAYMOND

You know who I mean.

OLIVER shakes his head, and RAYMOND bursts out laughing.

RAYMOND

You talked to me before her? Wow, I knew you too were on bad terms, but I didn’t know they were that bad

OLIVER

In my defense, your house was closer.

RAYMOND Sure.

OLIVER

Anyways, that’s not the point.

RAYMOND

You’re gonna need to make up things with her, you and I are not gonna do this alone.

OLIVER

Oh, c’mon, we are not kids anymore.

RAYMOND

Talk about yourself, I spent the whole morning building my new lego, d’you wanna see it?

OLIVER

It’s not the moment.

RAYMOND

It’s the Death’s Star.

OLIVER

(getting up the couch) No way you built that.
