“My name is “Pretty” Ricky Rojas, and I’m an undefeated professional MMA fighter. My life revolves around training, discipline, and staying mentally and physically ready for whatever comes next in the cage. On a typical day, I spend four to five hours training—running, strength conditioning, sparring, and sharpening technique. In a sport like this, overall performance isn’t just about how hard you train. It’s about how well you recover. That’s what led me to PEMF therapy at PEMF Recovery Plus. What started as curiosity has become a regular part of my weekly recovery routine and something that helps me stay at the top of my game.”

“One of the first things I noticed was how my body felt after a session. Normally after intense training there’s always soreness, but after using PEMF it was either completely gone or barely noticeable. When you train every day like I do, that kind of recovery makes a big difference. It allows me to come back the next day ready to train again instead of feeling like I’m fighting through soreness.”

DISCOVERING A NEW RECOVERY TOOL

“I discovered PEMF therapy in a few online posts about it and it immediately caught my attention. In MMA there are a lot of different recovery methods out there, so I’m always looking for anything that might help me stay ahead of the wear and tear on my body. With how much I train daily, there’s always some kind of soreness somewhere in my body. I figured it was worth trying, and I was really surprised by how much it helped.”

TRAINING HARD MEANS RECOVERING SMART

“As an MMA fighter your body is constantly being pushed. Between running, lifting weights, sparring and working on technique, there’s always some level of soreness or joint stress. It’s part of the sport. Over the years, I’ve had some ongoing issues with my ankle and shoulder from all the miles I run and the thousands of punches I’ve thrown in training. Nothing that stops me from competing, but it’s something that can slowly build up if you don’t stay on top of recovery. That’s why finding PEMF which helps my body bounce back is so important.”

WHAT A SESSION FEELS LIKE

“I usually go to PEMF Recovery Plus about once a week and focus on areas that take the most impact from training—like my legs and shoulders. I’ll often place the PEMF puck on my shoulder for 30-45 minutes. It’s a light pulsing at first, but it quickly becomes relaxing and gives my body time to recover.”

WHEN I KNEW IT WAS WORKING

“There was one moment that really stood out for me. Before I started using PEMF regularly, my shoulder would sometimes make a little clicking or crunching sound when I rotated it. It’s pretty common when you’ve spent years throwing punches. After I started using the PEMF puck on that area, the joint started feeling smoother and that sensation calmed down a lot. That’s when it really clicked for me that this therapy was helping in a real way.”

PART OF MY TRAINING ROUTINE

“My schedule is pretty structured. I run about three miles every morning and train throughout the day. Thursdays are usually my heavy leg day followed by sparring, and afterward I often use PEMF therapy. I’ll take my supplements and protein first, then spend time focusing on my legs with PEMF so they’re ready for the next day’s run and training. Recovery is everything in this sport—if you recover faster, you can train harder and stay consistent. What I appreciate most about PEMF is how simple it is. A lot of recovery methods require constant effort like stretching, icing or creams. With PEMF, I just sit or lie down, place the puck where I need it, and let it work. For me, it’s now a regular part of being ready to train, compete and push forward.”

ONE COMMUNITY. YOUR STORIES.

LET THE LIGHT IN

“Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.”

As a lifelong Texan, I’ve never been much of a fan of cold weather, so the arrival of spring is always something I eagerly welcome. Spring feels like possibility. After a long, dark winter spent indoors, there’s something refreshing about opening the windows, letting in the fresh air and taking a moment to rethink the spaces and routines in our everyday lives.

In this year’s Spring Home Issue, we explore the idea of a true renovation refresh—rethinking both indoor and outdoor spaces to better reflect how we live today. As our lifestyle shifts and grows, our homes should reflect those changes—adapting to the ways we work, relax and spend time together. Kitchens are gathering hubs, living rooms often double as offices, and backyards are no longer just a patch of grass, but an extension of our living space. From inspiring home renovations by Stately Design & Renovation (page 24) to a backyard revival by James Landscaping (page 31), you will find ideas throughout these pages that can breathe new life into your home.

And while I love gathering at home, sometimes the most fun happens when we head out— and this issue features one of the most entertaining restaurant experiences I’ve tried lately. Our review of Kura Revolving Sushi Bar (page 64) highlights the fun of watching plates of sushi glide by on a conveyor belt while technology keeps the experience playful and interactive. It’s a meal that’s equal parts delicious and entertaining—perfect for date night, family dinners or introducing someone to sushi in a completely new way. We’re also excited to spotlight the upcoming Celebrity Chefs event presented for the first time by The Archway (page 54), a beloved community tradition bringing incredible culinary talent together for a wonderful cause. It’s an evening where great food meets great purpose, and we’re honored to celebrate the chefs and supporters who make it possible.

While we’re reimagining our homes, spring is also the perfect time to refresh our wardrobes for a new season of trends. Style is in full bloom in our Spring Fling fashion feature (page 34), where XAR Clothier shares the season’s most exciting looks—think lighter fabrics, vibrant colors and effortless pieces that transition seamlessly from casual afternoons to polished evenings. Spring also naturally inspires a renewed focus on wellness. As the season changes, I find myself reaching for simple products that help me feel healthier, recharge faster and make the most of the longer days ahead. You can discover five of my current favorites for the season on page 8. And because spring wouldn’t be complete without something sweet, we’ve included a few lemon-inspired recipes celebrating citrus season with bright treats that bring a little sunshine to the table (page 61).

Spring reminds us that every new season brings a chance to begin again—sometimes all it takes is opening a window and letting the light back in.

Upgrade Entrance. Transform Home.

Testimonials from Love That Door Clients

“I can’t say enough about how happy I am with my new front entry renovation from Love That Door. The entire experience—from the people to the process to the final product—was exceptional. When I moved into my home, I knew I wanted to replace the front door because it had an awkward eyebrow transom window above it. Love That Door created a custom design that incorporated the window into a taller, more modern entry, completely transforming the look. The difference inside and out is remarkable. Natural light now pours into the entryway, while the textured glass still provides privacy, and we love the removable screen. Every LTD member of the team was incredibly detail-oriented from my sales rep to the installers, the brick masons, and painters. Each step was handled with care, and they cleaned up thoroughly along the way. The curb appeal and added value this high-quality door has brought to my home far exceeded my expectations. In fact, after my install several of my neighbors also completed their own front entry renovations with Love That Door. Now my back door just isn’t living up to the new standard—so that upgrade is next!” (BEFORE & AFTER ABOVE) –————

“Love That Door offers countless options to customize your entry — from traditional, craftsman, and low-profile designs to modern and accordion styles — you can achieve exactly the look you want for your home. Their unmatched durability, style, and commitment to quality craftsmanship and materials set them apart as the premier iron door company in North Texas. Experience why their customers truly Love That Door.”

–————

SANDRA’S PERSONAL CHOICE “I have three Love That Door exterior doors and love them! They are the highest quality and most beautiful doors that I have ever seen and as a builder, I researched high and low before deciding that these doors would be on my personal house. I will be calling them to get quotes on staircases!”

ELIZAR’S 10-STAR RATING “If I could give this establishment 10 stars, then I would. Love That Door does not mess around when it comes to big iron doors and windows. We bought a large triple slider, 15 solid glass windows, and a big iron door installed on our home. I can't wait to get my other property windows and doors in summer. You can't go wrong with the quality, craftsmanship and materials.”

SANDY’S TRUE LOVE “It’s true—I love my new door! Love That Door has an amazing catalog of beautiful iron doors. They truly know their stuff and one of the best aspects of buying from them was that everything was included in the sale—door handles, threshold, etc. So, there were no ‘gotchas’ after I purchased my door. Initially, I thought their price was higher than competitors until I priced out everything needed to be included (which competitors didn’t include in the sale price of the door). And, as I said... I love my door!”

MIKE’S AMAZED “Amazing company! Not only did they do a fully custom job adding a set of double doors at my home, we also had them do six doors at the in-laws! The install team was fast great and clean! Both jobs were completed earlier than promised. Even after install they took care of us—a storm caused damage to one of our doors. Their team was on it with a repair the following day to get us back in service. Some companies are done after initial sell, but they have been there for us at any call... we truly Love Our Doors!”

DEBRA’S ONLY CHOICE “I ordered my second front double door last week. Super excited about the new house, entertaining and showing off my new front door. Chad, the owner, and his staff are always so kind, and more importantly, they always offer the best price in town. These doors are so heavy they feel like you’re opening a bank vault. I’m not kidding! And my first single door, still in use at the lake house, is as beautiful as it was the first day it arrived. There’s only one door company in town for me—and it’s called Love That Door.”

Home Within:

THE DWELLING PLACE OF THE SOUL

When most people think about home, they picture a place — a front door, familiar rooms, a favorite chair or the comforting rhythm of family life. Yet, Scripture offers a deeper perspective. According to the Bible, the most important home we will ever live in is not made of brick or wood. It is the body God has given us — the dwelling place of our soul and, for believers, a temple where God’s Spirit resides.

The apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 6:19, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?” This powerful reminder shifts the way we view ourselves. Our bodies are not merely physical vessels moving through the world. They are sacred spaces designed by God to house the life He breathed into us.

From the beginning of creation, Scripture emphasizes this very intimate connection between body and soul. In Genesis 2:7, the Bible tells us that “the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” That breath was more than oxygen—it was the very life of God entering humanity. Our bodies became the first home our souls would ever know.

Because of this, the Bible encourages us to care for their bodies with the reverence one would give a sacred dwelling. Just as we maintain our homes—repairing what is

broken, keeping them clean, welcoming— Scripture calls us to honor the bodies we inhabit, including how we treat ourselves physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Romans 12:1 speaks to this idea, urging believers to “offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” In other words, the way we live, speak, rest, nourish ourselves and treat others becomes an act of devotion. Our daily choices shape the condition of the spiritual home within us. Yet the Bible also recognizes that our earthly home is temporary. Life brings wear and tear, challenges and even seasons of weakness. In 2 Corinthians 4:16, Paul writes, “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” Even as our physical bodies change with time, the soul inside continues to grow and strengthen through faith.

This truth offers both humility and hope. Our bodies remind us that we are human—

fragile, limited and dependent on God. But they also remind us that something eternal lives within us. The soul God placed inside each person longs for connection with its Creator. Perhaps this is why the Scripture encourages moments of both stillness and reflection. When we can slow down long enough to pray, breathe deeply and listen for God’s voice, we begin to recognize that our bodies are more than just temporary shelters. They are living sanctuaries where God’s presence can dwell.

One day, the Bible promises, believers will experience a perfect and eternal home with God. Until then, the body remains the sacred space where faith is practiced, character is refined and the soul prepares for eternity. So while houses may shelter us and communities may surround us, the truest home we carry is within—the body God designed to hold the life of our soul and the whisper of His Spirit. Every breath is a reminder that God still lives in the house He built. Long before we ever built homes on earth, God built one within us.

Fifty & Friendless Table For One, Please!

A love letter to every woman who has ever found herself reevaluating friendships in her 40s, 50s, and beyond

In 50 & Friendless: Table for One, Please!, author Jen Morgan offers an honest and heartfelt exploration of a common life transition many women quietly experience, but rarely discuss: the shifting landscape of friendship in midlife. Written with warmth, humor and refreshing vulnerability, the book invites readers to rethink exactly what connection, independence and selfworth look like in our 40s, 50s or beyond.

Morgan’s narrative unfolds like a candid conversation with your trusted friend. Drawing from her own personal season of reflection, she shares stories about her friendship changes, moments of loneliness, and the surprising clarity that can emerge when familiar social circles evolve or fade. Rather than her approaching the topic with bitterness or blame, Morgan chooses gratitude and perspective. She acknowledges the value of friendships that had once shaped her life while also embracing the growth that comes with letting go of relationships that no longer fit.

What makes 50 & Friendless: Table for One, Please! particularly compelling is Morgan’s ability to balance humor and emotional depth. Some stories will make readers laugh at the relatable awkwardness of adulthood friendships, while others will gently touch on grief,

change and the true courage it takes to rediscover one’s identity outside of long-held social roles. Throughout the book, Morgan reminds readers that evolving friendships are not a failure, but a natural part of personal growth.

At its core, this book delivers a very empowering message—being alone does not mean being lonely. Morgan reframes the idea of “table for one” as a symbol of both self-respect and selfdiscovery. Those quiet moments we spend reconnecting with ourselves, she suggests, can be some of the most meaningful and restorative experiences of our lives.

Women navigating midlife transitions will likely see reflections of their own journeys in Morgan’s words. Whether readers are reevaluating friendships, embracing new chapters or simply learning to prioritize their own wellbeing, this book provides reassurance that they are not alone.

The book Ultimately, 50 & Friendless: Table for One, Please! is really less about losing friendships and more about gaining something even more valuable— a much deeper relationship with oneself. Jen’s uplifting perspective encourages readers to laugh, reflect and confidently claim their own seat at the table.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Jen Morgan is a speaker, writer, certified grief coach, and encourager with a heart for women navigating the ever-changing seasons of life. Through her love of faith, family and fun, she shares her own journey of loss, resilience and rediscovery to inspire others to embrace the beauty of imperfection. Her first book, Bring It On, explored how faith carried her through life’s greatest traumas. She’s a proud native of Cincinnati, Ohio, but her roots have been firmly planted in Texas for over 20 years, where she and her husband have raised three children. She treasures her roles as mom, sister and “ditch diver” for her friends.

LIBRARY FOUNDATION OF SOUTHLAKE

JOINING LIBRARY GIVING DAYS FROM APRIL

6–13

Public libraries have long been known as places to borrow books and conduct research, but today they offer far more— serving as vibrant community hubs that promote lifelong learning, access to technology and connect residents through engaging programs and resources. To help support these vital services, libraries across the country are participating in Library Giving Days, a national movement that encourages people who value their public libraries to give back through charitable donations. In North Texas, the Library Foundation of Southlake is proud to participate in the one-week online fundraising campaign taking place April 6–13, 2026. The goal of the initiative is simple—bring together the community and invite them to invest in the programs and services that benefit residents of all ages. “The Library Giving Days initiative provides a perfect opportunity for the surrounding community to support our Southlake Public Library and the myriad of ways it serves our residents, young and old,” said Lori Burr, President of the Library Foundation of Southlake. “Every donation helps us provide wide-ranging services including a summer workshop for young writers, a winter Book Blizzard Bingo reading program and 16 upcoming Art and STEM classes for kids, tweens and teens.” This year’s campaign comes with an added incentive for donors. A generous local supporter will match the first $2,500 in donations, effectively doubling the impact of early contributions. Burr also notes that it is an ideal time to give because all online transaction fees are being covered by the Communities Foundation of Texas, ensuring that every dollar donated goes directly to supporting library programs and resources. Funds raised will directly benefit the Southlake Public Library, helping sustain the programs, educational opportunities and community services that make the library a cornerstone of the city. From literacy initiatives and youth enrichment programs to technology access and lifelong learning opportunities, the library continues to serve as a welcoming space for discovery and growth. The Library Foundation of Southlake invites residents and supporters from across the region to take part in this meaningful initiative. Tax-deductible donations can be made at the Library Foundation of Southlake website. Together, community support helps ensure the Southlake Public Library continues to enrich lives and strengthen the community for generations to come.

Renovation Reimagined:

Stately Design & Renovation Introduces a New Way to Transform Kitchens and Baths

This spring, the respected design-build firm known for its craftsmanship and innovation is unveiling a new concept designed to make professional renovations more attainable for homeowners. Beginning in March, Stately Design & Renovation is introducing a threetiered approach to kitchen and bath remodeling that offers homeowners varying levels of customization — from streamlined updates to fully bespoke luxury renovations. The new model reflects the company’s commitment to transparency, craftsmanship and thoughtful design while opening the door for more homeowners to experience the Stately difference.

SL

A Strong Reputation Built on Complex Transformations

For years, Stately Design & Renovation has earned a reputation across Northeast Tarrant County for handling large-scale renovation projects with precision and care. From second-story additions to whole-home transformations, their team is known for taking on complex projects that require meticulous planning and skilled execution. Their projects often involve redesigning entire living spaces, adding outdoor living environment, expanding floor plans, or creating luxury interiors tailored specifically to each homeowner’s vision. With such ambitious projects, the Stately team has developed a reputation for delivering stunning results while also maintaining real transparency and trust throughout the renovation process. Yet despite the admiration homeowners have for their work, the team often hears a familiar sentiment during their initial consultations: “We would love to work with Stately Design, but we assumed we couldn’t afford them.” Rather than seeing that feedback as a barrier, the company viewed it as an opportunity to innovate.

Opening the Door to More Homeowners

Over the past several months, the Stately team began exploring ways to offer the same thoughtful design and professional project management they are well-known for— but at a price point accessible to a wider range of homeowners. The result is a new, three-level renovation concept designed specifically for kitchens and bathroom, which are two of the most important and frequently used spaces in any home.

Beginning in March, homeowners will be able to choose from three distinct renovation paths: STREAMLINED, REFINED & STATELY

Each option provides homeowners with a different level of customization and investment, while maintaining the company’s signature quality and exceptional design expertise.

PATH #1 - STREAMLINED: Style Meets Simplicity

The entry point into the new program is the Streamlined option—a fixed-price kitchen renovation with a standardized scope of work and the same price for every Streamlined kitchen. Designed to deliver both a beautiful and modern transformation, this model includes a full kitchen or bathroom renovation featuring carefully curated selections based on current design trends. Homeowners can expect upgrades such as quartz countertops, stylish plumbing fixtures, designer backsplash materials, new flooring and cabinetry with softclose doors and drawers. What makes the Streamlined option especially appealing is its simplicity—homeowners know the price before the first design meeting even takes place. By offering pre-selected design options and a defined scope of work, Stately Design & Renovation is able to streamline the planning process while still delivering the elevated finishes that homeowners expect. While there are some limitations to customization, the model is designed to work for the vast majority of kitchens and bathrooms across the DFW area. For those homeowners who have been putting off renovations due to uncertainty around pricing or maybe complexity, Streamlined provides a clear and approachable starting point.

PATH #2 - REFINED: Thoughtful Customization

For homeowners seeking more design flexibility, the Refined model offers a greater level of customization while maintaining a structured renovation framework. Refined renovations will typically include new cabinetry, expanded choices for countertops and backsplash materials, upgraded plumbing fixtures and also more personalized design selections. Because each project can vary depending on materials and layout considerations, this level operates with a starting price rather than a fixed cost. That approach allows homeowners to enter the process with a clear budget range while still enjoying the freedom to tailor the space to their personal style. The Refined option strikes a balance between design flexibility and financial clarity—a combination that appeals to many homeowners looking to elevate their space without undertaking a full-scale custom renovation.

PATH #3 - STATELY: Where Vision Becomes Reality

At the highest tier is the Stately level — a fully bespoke renovation experience where creativity and customization have no limits. This is the level where the company’s reputation for large-scale transformations truly shines. Walls can be moved, layouts reimagined and plumbing relocated to create entirely new spaces tailored to the homeowner’s lifestyle. Luxury materials, unique design elements, and custom cabinetry, plus architectural enhancements and all come into play. For those homeowners seeking a truly one-of-a-kind kitchen or bathroom, the Stately tier provides the opportunity to build something entirely original. “If you can dream it, we can build it” is the guiding philosophy behind this level—and it reflects the craftsmanship and creative problemsolving that have defined Stately Design & Renovation ’s work for years.

A Process Designed for Confidence

While the new renovation model introduces different levels of customization, one thing remains constant—Stately Design & Renovation’s commitment to a carefully structured process. The team believes a successful renovation begins long before construction starts. Their planning phase—often referred to as (continued)

preconstruction—lays the groundwork for everything that follows. Initial meetings focus on building trust and determining whether the partnership is the right fit for both the homeowner and the company. From there, the team works to define the project scope, identify design goals and develop a conceptual budget that aligns with the homeowner’s vision. Unlike contractors who compete through quick estimates or bidding wars, the team at Stately Design & Renovation develops projects with both detailed planning and precise pricing. Once a design and scope of work are finalized, homeowners receive a clear project cost with no hidden fees or surprise markups. From the architectural drawings and material selections to permitting and construction oversight, every phase of the process is carefully managed to ensure a smooth experience. Even during construction, they prioritize communication and quality control. Project managers oversee each trade partner and ensure every detail meets the company’s standards before any

work is approved. The final result is a truly superior renovation experience built on transparency, craftsmanship and accountability.

Pre-Orders Open as Demand Builds

With the new program launching in March alongside the debut of Stately Design & Renovation’s updated website, the company is already preparing for significant interest from homeowners eager to begin their projects. The website will outline the price and full scope of work included in the Streamlined option and provide price ranges for the Refined and Stately tiers. Homeowners will also be able to explore sample renovations and design inspiration to help guide decisions. Because renovation schedules fill quickly, the company is now accepting pre-orders for upcoming projects. By reserving a spot in the schedule early, homeowners can secure a place in the upcoming renovation timeline and be among the first to experience this new approach to kitchen and bath remodeling.

A New Chapter for Home Renovation

For Stately Design & Renovation, the introduction of this three-tiered renovation model represents more than just a new service—it’s a reflection of their evolving mission. The team has always been driven by craftsmanship, thoughtful design and a commitment to delivering exceptional results. Now, they’re making that experience available to more homeowners across North Texas. Whether it’s a stylish kitchen refresh, a personalized bath transformation or a completely custom luxury renovation, the new program offers a path forward. Because at the end of the day, a renovation isn’t just about cabinets, countertops or construction timelines—it’s about creating spaces where life happens. And with their new approach, Stately Design & Renovation is ensuring more homeowners than ever can step into a home that truly reflects the way they live. And in the process, help them do exactly what Stately believes every renovation should accomplish—renew their love for the place they call home.

When you’re ready to collaborate with Rick and his team on your home remodeling project, give them a call or visit their website to explore past projects and complete the prospective client survey to get started.

yard refresh

Every yard has potential — sometimes it simply needs the right vision to really bring it to life. With thoughtful design, strategic plantings and purposeful improvements, any outdoor yard space can be transformed from tired and underutilized into a welcoming landscape that feels both beautiful and functional. Flip to how before-and-after photos reveal intentional landscaping that has completely changed the look, flow and enjoyment of a local backyard.

BACKYARD REVIVAL

A

thoughtful landscape design can turn problem areas into beautiful, functional spaces — and that was exactly the goal for this recent project by the team at James Landscaping. –

Over time, the homeowner’s mature trees had grown significantly, creating dense shade throughout their backyard. While the towering canopy added some natural beauty and cooling shade, it also made it difficult for grass to thrive in certain areas. Rather than continuing to battle bare patches in the lawn, the design solution focused on working with the landscape’s natural conditions. The team extended the existing planting beds into the areas where grass struggled most—creating a cohesive and intentional design.

To maintain continuity with the original landscape, the homeowner’s existing chopped sandstone border was carefully reused, blending new beds seamlessly with the established yard. Within their remaining lawn areas, the crew regraded

sections of the yard to eliminate low spots where water had been pooling after rainstorms. Once the yard grading was complete, the space was resodded with fresh Zoysia grass— a durable variety well-suited for Texas landscapes—tying the entire backyard together with a lush, even surface.

Another important improvement took place alongside the driveway where the original flagstone stepping stones had become uneven over time. To create a safer and more stable walking surface, the team replaced the stones with a Silvermist flagstone pathway set in decomposed granite. The result is a level, natural-looking walkway that complements the home’s landscape while improving accessibility. Water management was also a key component of this design. A dry creek bed was installed to help direct runoff away from the home, providing both functional drainage and a visually appealing natural feature within the landscape. Finally, beneath mature shade trees, the team introduced hardy groundcover plantings to replace areas where grass had struggled to grow. The new plantings will gradually spread and fill in, creating a soft and layered look that thrives in the shaded environment. While the photos capture the project immediately after installation, the true beauty of the new design will continue to unfold as the plants mature and the landscape grows into its full potential. Now, this yard’s been transformed from shade to showcase— and James Landscaping took it from problems to polished.

SPRING’S HOTTEST TRENDS | SPRING FLING

SL greater good

As spring begins to bloom across North Texas, so does an extraordinary show of generosity. On April 17, 2026, the GCS Moms League will host its signature fundraiser, The Great Gala: Enchanted Garden, at the elegant Hurst Conference Center—and in a powerful testament to community support, the event is already sold out. While the ballroom has yet to be transformed into a whimsical garden of florals, candlelight and butterflies, the true beauty of the evening is already evident in its purpose: benefiting the Stepping Stones Foundation, which serves youth in crisis throughout North Texas. With an ambitious goal of raising $100,000, The Great Gala 2026 is poised to demonstrate what is possible when the local community unites for the greater good.

GCS Moms League, a community-driven organization of mothers from Grapevine, Colleyville, Southlake, Keller and other surrounding communities, is dedicated to volunteerism, fundraising and hands-on service supporting local nonprofits. This year’s Enchanted Garden theme, crafted by chairs Brooke Kronschnabel and Jen Gayden, reflects the spirit of renewal and growth—fitting symbolism for an evening centered on transforming young lives. Guests gather with one shared mission strengthening the next generation.

At its heart, The Great Gala exists to raise funds and awareness for vulnerable youth served by this year’s beneficiary Stepping Stones Foundation. Serving youth facing crisis—including unstable housing, abuse or neglect—the nonprofit provides food, emergency housing, clothing and medical care when it is needed most. Through core programs such as Project Oasis, Hunger Force, Perseverance and Career Launch, Stepping Stones goes beyond immediate relief. What begins as meeting urgent needs often becomes a pathway toward long-term stability—empowering youth to focus on school, discover their strengths and build confident futures. This stability and encouragement means local youth don’t just survive—they thrive.

THE GREAT GALA: ENCHANTED GARDEN THE GCS MOMS LEAGUE

SL greater good

A sold-out gala does not happen without extraordinary community partnership. So, even before guests arrive, the success of The Great Gala 2026 is evident—and that is thanks to extraordinary support. GCS Moms League extends sincere gratitude to sponsors whose generosity has already helped make this sold-out event possible, including Dynamic Life Chiropractic Care, Mobiltech Global Services, Garage Experts, Society Life Magazine, Landscape Systems Garden Center, Garabedian Properties, Methodist Southlake Medical Center, Face Foundrié, Vivian James Events, Endlessly Organized, Firebirds Grill, Meadows Garage Doors, The Mary Kay Family Foundation, and Paradigm Design. Through generous support, these sponsors have aligned their brands with a meaningful cause—ensuring the evening will be not only beautiful, but impactful. Their investment directly fuels youth-focused initiatives provided by this commitment to greater good—youth in crisis across North Texas will have access to shelter, nourishment, and opportunity.

The immersive Enchanted Garden will blend fine dining with high-impact giving opportunities in a thoughtfully curated

What began as a small circle of mothers seeking friendship and support has grown into a vibrant 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization of more than 300 members across North Texas. Founded in 1994, the Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake Moms League was created to ensure that no parent had to navigate the journey of raising children alone. GCS Moms League brings families together through social events, service projects and meaningful community outreach. Each year, the league selects a local charity to support through fundraising initiatives, including its signature event, The Great Gala. In 2026, the organization celebrates its 32nd year with The Great Gala – Enchanted Garden, benefiting Stepping Stones Foundation and continuing its legacy of impact. Through friendship, service and shared purpose, GCS Moms League empowers families to build meaningful connections while making a lasting difference.

evening of elegance and engagement. Planned highlights include an exclusive VIP butterfly release symbolizing hope and transformation, followed by an immersive butterfly tent experience where guests can observe delicate creatures up close. The night will also feature casino-style gaming tables, a lip reader artist and live character artist, the Glam Bot Photo Booth, and a bourbon pull hosted by Bourbon Bandits. Live and silent auctions showcasing both exclusive experiences and items designed to inspire some generous bidding, and a special performance by Fred Astaire Dance Studio Southlake will add to the evening’s celebratory atmosphere. Every element of this year’s GCS Moms League The Great Gala has been carefully designed for guests to entertain and to encourage meaningful generosity throughout the night.

Though the florals will fade and all of the butterflies will fly away, the impact of The Great Gala 2026 will continue long after the last guest departs. In a region known for its generosity, the GCS Moms League will once again demonstrate the power of local women mobilizing for meaningful change. When mothers, families and community leaders unite around a cause, the ripple effect extends far beyond a single evening.

On April 17, the ballroom will bloom with elegance, friendship and celebration. But the true transformation is unfolding now— in the lives of the youth served by Stepping Stones Foundation. Because of the local community’s support, children in crisis will have shelter. They will have food. They will have medical care. They will have hope. And that is the true Enchanted Garden.

For more than 40 years, Mid-Cities SOS rallied Tarrant County to stand with survivors of domestic violence through powerful advocacy and signature events like Celebrity Chefs. Though SOS closed its doors at the end of 2025, its impact continues. The Archway is proud to carry forward SOS’s legacy by hosting the annual Celebrity Chefs event. Celebrity Chefs is more than a night out. It’s a celebration of generosity, community, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel safe in their relationships. We hope you’ll be part of this meaningful evening as they celebrate where they’ve been and the bright (and safe!) future they are building for survivors.

All proceeds from Celebrity Chefs benefit The Archway and families escaping domestic violence.

6 Questions About SL

THE ARCHWAY: MID-CITIES CELEBRITY CHEFS 2026

WHAT: Celebrity Chefs is a lively culinary fundraiser that blends gourmet tasting, philanthropy, and entertainment into one unforgettable evening. Guests will enjoy an array of creative small plates prepared by participating chefs, sampling everything from savory bites to decadent desserts while exploring the room and meeting the chefs behind the dishes. Each station offers a new flavor experience, turning the event into a culinary adventure. The evening also features both silent and live auctions filled with exciting items and experiences donated by generous sponsors. Guests can bid on travel packages, dining experiences, luxury items and unique opportunities while supporting The Archway’s mission. While the food is certainly a highlight, the purpose behind the event is what makes Celebrity Chefs truly special. Every dollar raised helps support programs that provide shelter, counseling, legal support and advocacy for the survivors of domestic violence throughout Tarrant County.

WHERE: The 2026 Celebrity Chefs event will take place at The Westin Southlake located at 1200 East State Highway 114, a stylish and welcoming venue that offers the perfect setting for an evening of culinary celebration. With elegant event spaces and ample room for chef stations, the venue allows guests to comfortably sample dishes, mingle with fellow supporters and enjoy the vibrant energy of the event. Located in the heart of Southlake, the hotel provides easy access for guests traveling from across Northeast Tarrant County and the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area. The upscale setting adds an extra touch of sophistication to the evening while maintaining the warmth and community-centered atmosphere that has made Mid-Cities Celebrity Chefs such a beloved event.

WHEN: Celebrity Chefs will take place April 26, 2026, beginning at 5:30pm. The evening typically opens with a reception where guests can begin sampling dishes and beverages while browsing the silent auction items. As the night progresses, the excitement builds toward the live auction and special presentations highlighting the impact of The Archway’s work throughout the region. Held in the spring, the event also serves as a seasonal celebration— an opportunity for the community to gather, reconnect and support a meaningful cause.

WHY: The mission behind Celebrity Chefs is simple, but powerful—to help survivors of domestic violence find safety, healing and hope. Domestic violence affects thousands of families across Tarrant County each year. Survivors often face overwhelming obstacles when attempting to leave abusive situations, from financial hardship to legal challenges and emotional trauma. The Archway works to remove those barriers by providing the full range of support survivors need today while also leading bold efforts to prevent violence tomorrow. Through emergency shelters, a 24-hour crisis hotline, counseling services, legal advocacy and prevention programs, The Archway helps survivors move from crisis toward stability and independence. Programs for children help break cycles of violence and create healthier futures for families. Events like Mid-Cities Celebrity Chefs help ensure that these critical services remain available for those who need them most.

HOW: Celebrity Chefs succeeds thanks to the combined efforts of chefs, sponsors, volunteers and community supporters who believe in The Archway’s mission. Local chefs generously donate their time and culinary talent, creating inventive tasting dishes that delight guests while helping raise funds for an important cause. Sponsors provide financial support that allows the event to grow and ensures more of the proceeds directly benefit survivor services. Guests participate by purchasing tickets, bidding in auctions and making donations throughout the evening. Every contribution, whether large or small, plays a role in supporting The Archway’s programs. Volunteers also serve as the backbone of the event, assisting with logistics, guest experience and coordination throughout the night. And all together, these efforts transform a single evening into a powerful force for change while “Pairing for a Purpose.”

From tender, buttery layers to light, citrus-kissed glazes, these four lemon recipes celebrate the season’s sweetness—proving a little zest goes a long way!

These are great year-round, but I especially love them in winter when citrus is at its finest. Meyer lemons have a beautiful jasmine flavor that made these bars sing. My secret ingredient is lemon zest in the crust. They’re quick and easy—and just divine!

KURA REVOLVING SUSHI BAR

Tucked into a new restaurant row in the bustling Alliance area, Kura Revolving Sushi offers a new dining experience that feels like part restaurant, part video game and entirely fun for the whole family. Unlike most traditional sushi spots where you simply order from a menu and wait, Kura transforms the meal into an adventure where plates of sushi glide past your table on a moving conveyor belt. The Alliance location marks Kura’s second Tarrant County location with its first location in Glade Parks on the Colleyville-Euless border. The concept is simple yet novel. Diners sit in comfortable booths that line the conveyor system, and a steady stream of sushi rolls, nigiri and small plates circle the entire restaurant. Each dish is sealed in a clear dome to keep it fresh, and when something looks tempting, you simply press a button to lift the dome and take the plate. Beyond the conveyor belt, at each table, guests can place additional orders through a touchscreen tablet at

their leisure throughout the meal. Those dishes don’t come from the belt—instead, they zip directly to your table on a speedy express lane above the conveyor system. Watching your order arrive overhead adds another layer of excitement and makes the meal feel a bit like dining inside a futuristic train.

One of the most delightful features at the Alliance location is Kur-B, Kura’s friendly robot server who delivers drinks. With bright lights and a cheerful personality, kids especially love watching the robot approach their table, and it often becomes the highlight of the visit.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Every table also participates in a built-in game experience. Once you finish your sushi, you slide the empty plates into a slot at the table. The system counts them, and after every 15 plates, a short animated game appears on the screen. If you’re lucky, you will win a small capsule prize that drops right down to your table. It turns dinner into a friendly challenge—families often

find themselves ordering “just one more plate” to see if they can trigger another round of the game.

Of course, the food itself is the star. From classic California rolls and spicy tuna to crispy tempura rolls, there’s something for every taste. Even those pickier palates will find plenty of approachable options, such as Kura’s version of Fish & Chips—a variety of Ramen and Wagyu beef atop rice rolls (which was my mom’s not-to-be-missed Kura menu item!)

After all the fun sushi excitement, dessert is the perfect way to finish the meal. The entire lineup is my not-to-be-missed, so be sure to save room. Soft, chewy Mochi in classic strawberry and green tea provide a light and colorful treat, while the

Gooey Butter Cake delivers a rich, indulgent bite. The cheesecake is another favorite for those who want something creamy and classic, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream is the perfect ending to a lively meal. However, it’s much more than just a meal—it’s an interactive experience designed to bring people together and keep everyone engaged.

Perfect for a meal out with friends, a first date, a family outing or even introducing your grandparents to something new, Kura Revolving Sushi turns dinner into a dining experience that’s as entertaining as it is delicious. With clever technology, great sushi and a lively atmosphere, the plates—and the fun—never stop moving. At Kura, every bite proves that memorable dining experiences can truly come full circle.
