Waterfront Estate on Mecox Bay Gary R. DePersia Licensed A s sociate Real E s t ate Broker m 516.3 8 0.0 53 8 | g d p@corcor an.com

Water Mill. As you browse through a Slim Aarons coffee table book you are reminded of those moments in travel that remain with you forever. Waking to the warmth of an Aegean sunrise as the sea quietly comes to life or watching the moonlight dance across the turquoise waters of a secluded Mediterranean cove. In those rare moments, the outside world disappears, time slows, and life feels beautifully uncomplicated. That same feeling awaits on the shores of Mecox Bay. Occupying one of Water Mill’s most coveted waterfront settings on prestigious Cobb Isle, this extraordinary estate evokes the effortless elegance of a private European seaside resort, with sweeping views across Mecox Bay toward the Atlantic Ocean beyond. Hidden behind stately gates, the estate spans 1.3 impeccably landscaped acres with over 325 feet of direct waterfront. Designed by architect John Himmelsbach, the approximately 7,300 ft² residence offers sixplus bedrooms, nine baths, expansive terraces, and a temperature-controlled three-car garage. A soaring limestone foyer with Venetian plaster walls introduces interiors where walls of glass keep water, sky, and light at the center of nearly every principal room. Designed around the view, the upper level includes a spectacular living room with floor-to-ceiling limestone fireplace, intimate family room, richly paneled study, and chef’s kitchen, all flowing toward expansive waterfront terraces. Occupying its own private wing, the primary suite recalls Europe’s finest boutique hotels, with separate sitting and sleeping chambers, two fireplaces, private terraces, gym, custom dressing closets, and an extraordinary spa bath. Four additional en-suite guest bedrooms and a separate staff suite provide exceptional accommodations for family and guests. Outside, the estate transforms into a private resort. A heated Gunite pool finished in shimmering Murano glass tile appears to merge with Mecox Bay, surrounded by more than 1,500 ft² of limestone terraces. An integrated 500 ft² pool pavilion with lounge, dining area, full bath, and kitchen provides additional space for entertaining and guests, while mature landscaping and intimate gardens create complete privacy. With the potential for a private dock, owners can step directly onto a boat, paddleboard, kayak, or jet ski and explore Mecox Bay. There are homes that impress, and there are homes that define an era of your life. 54 Cobb Isle offers both—as if every arrival were a page from a Slim Aarons masterpiece, and every day was worthy of its own photograph. PUBLISHER’S LETTER

Nothing quite compares to a Hamptons summer. Then again, I would say the same about autumn, winter, and spring. Each season brings its own unique charm, and by September, the Hamptons transform into a quieter yet equally vibrant destination. The crowds may fade, but the beauty, energy, and opportunities to enjoy life with family and friends remain. Autumn on the East End offers countless ways to experience the season. Attend the Hamptons International Film Festival, spend an afternoon apple or pumpkin picking, enjoy a round of golf at Montauk Downs, or explore the region’s vineyards. Take a bike ride along scenic back roads or play tennis. Whether you’re walking through peaceful woodlands, strolling across open meadows, or simply enjoying the ocean air, the Hamptons have a way of making everyday moments feel extraordinary. One of the best-kept secrets is that the Hamptons are truly a yearround destination. Many of the area’s finest shops, hotels, and restaurants remain open, making the East End an ideal place to spend weekends, holidays, and special occasions with those you love. As much as I enjoy New York City, there is something about the Hamptons that continues to captivate me in a way that’s difficult to put into words. I encourage you to experience the Hamptons beyond the summer season. You may discover, as I have, its beauty, tranquility, and enduring spirit have a way of changing your life. Justin Mitchell

LETTER FROM THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

There is a strange moment at the end of every summer when the season that felt endless suddenly feels impossibly short. I find myself wondering how we got here so quickly. For more than two decades at Social Life, I have had the privilege of chronicling summers in the Hamptons. And every year, I am reminded that what stays with us is rarely what we expect. It isn’t necessarily the perfect dinner or the photograph where everyone somehow has their eyes open. It is the conversation you didn’t want to end. The friend you didn’t see enough. Your child suddenly seeming older. The night that became memorable for reasons no one could have planned. This summer seemed to move at extraordinary speed. There were magazine deadlines, articles to write, pages to close, a calendar that occasionally made me question my

own judgment. There were nights when I was texting while on speakerphone while getting dressed, mornings that began much earlier than I would have liked as I cleaned dog poop with the Audrey Hepburn eye mask pushed back as a headband on my head, things that went wrong, things that were better than expected, plans that changed, and moments when I wondered how everything would possibly get done. And threaded through all of it was my real life. Being a mother. Being a wife. Being a friend. Trying to answer the text I had forgotten about. Trying to be present when my mind was already three steps ahead. Laughing with people I love. Worrying about things that, a week later, I could barely remember. Maybe that is what I will remember most about this summer. Not perfection. Fullness. I think we sometimes imagine that a beautiful life should feel beautiful while we are living it. Often, it doesn’t. Sometimes it feels like running late, losing your patience, finding it again, staying up too late, waking up tired, laughing until your stomach hurts, and doing it all again the next morning. Gratitude sometimes arrives afterward, when life becomes quiet enough to see what was there all along. Looking back now, I see friendships deepening. I see work I am proud of and things I would do differently. I see long summer nights, small moments of kindness, and people I wish I had spent more time with. After 23 summers at Social Life, perhaps that is what I love most about making this magazine. We preserve a little of what otherwise disappears. And perhaps that is what these pages become in the end: a place for summer to live long after it has slipped away. With love,

Devorah Rose Editor-in-Chief

JEWELRY

BEAUTY IN THE ACCENTS By Helena Harlow

Natasa and Tanja Plećaš

There is an effortless elegance to PLEĆAŠ—one that feels equally at home on the sun-drenched shores of the Adriatic as it does at an intimate dinner in Tribeca or a summer soirée in the Hamptons. Created by sisters Tanja and Natasa Plećaš, PLEĆAŠ is a New York–based demi-fine jewelry line that has cultivated a loyal following among women who understand that true luxury lies in authenticity, craftsmanship, and timeless design rather than fleeting trends. Raised between the Midwest and summers in the former Yugoslavia, the sisters grew up surrounded by European architecture, art, and a culture that celebrated beauty in everyday life. Those early influences continue to shape every PLEĆAŠ collection. Even the brand’s name, complete with its distinctive Serbian accent marks, reflects their belief that the smallest details often leave the greatest impression. Their guiding philosophy—“Beauty is in the accents”—is woven into every collection, celebrating the subtle details that transform the everyday into something unforgettable. Each design is handcrafted in limited quantities using globally sourced gemstones, pearls, and precious metals, striking a balance between refined simplicity and modern sophistication. SocialLifeMagazine.com

Meant to be layered, collected, and worn every day, the pieces effortlessly transition from morning meetings to candlelit evenings, becoming part of the stories and milestones of the women who wear them. Fresh from its starring role on the cover and throughout the pages of Social Life alongside Christie Brinkley, PLEĆAŠ continues to capture the attention of editors, tastemakers, and women with an eye for understated luxury. The brand has also been featured in InStyle, L’Officiel, and GENLUX, and worn by Jessica Alba, Alessandra Ambrosio, Maria Menounos, and Roselyn Sánchez. Today, PLEĆAŠ continues to grow through a thoughtfully curated presence. The collection is available in the Hamptons at Gurney’s Montauk Resort and in Manhattan at iLA Only Spa within the iconic Lotte New York Palace—destinations that embody the same understated elegance and refined lifestyle that inspire every collection. For Tanja and Natasa Plećaš, jewelry is never simply an accessory. It is the final accent—one that elevates, empowers, and becomes part of life’s most meaningful moments. Purple Reign Purple is having a vivid summer moment, shifting from soft lavender into saturated violet, orchid, and electric plum. At Gucci, the color has a confident, slightly eccentric edge, while Carolina Herrera brings a polished romanticism to violet tones, including statement accessories and richly colored looks. Whether worn head to toe or in a single bold accessory, purple delivers the kind of unexpected color pop that instantly sharpens a summer wardrobe.

Stripe Direction Stripes are stepping beyond summer staples in 2026, making their mark on accessories with graphic totes, scarves, sandals, and statement bags. The freshest styling move is stripes on stripes: bold bands paired with finer lines, tonal patterns mixed with contrasting color, and accessories that deliberately echo the look rather than soften it. The result is a familiar summer motif reworked with a sharper, more fashion-forward point of view.

SHOPPING By Gregory DelliCarpini Jr.

Whether it ’s for a walk on the beach or an evening painting the Hamptons red, these shops know how to cater to your needs.

Brunello Cucinelli Brunello Cucinelli brings the refinement of Solomeo to East Hampton with an elegant boutique devoted to beautifully crafted wardrobe essentials. Luxurious knits, relaxed tailoring, accessories, and softly structured separates embody the Italian house’s understated approach to dressing, where craftsmanship always takes precedence over obvious logos. 39 Newtown Lane, East Hampton

Vivrelle x Kith Women

Nili Lotan At Nili Lotan’s East Hampton boutique, the designer’s signature denim, relaxed trousers, crisp shirting, knitwear, and softly tailored pieces offer the sort of wardrobe that looks considered without appearing styled. It’s a particularly good match for the casual comfort that defines summer out east. 38 Main Street, East Hampton

One of summer 2026’s buzziest popups brings Vivrelle and Kith Women together in Bridgehampton. The seasonal destination pairs Kith’s summer collection—including swim, matching sets, activewear, and Kith Kids—with Vivrelle’s revolving edit of designer handbags and jewelry available to borrow or purchase. Equal parts fashion stop and luxury clubhouse, it offers a distinctly modern approach to shopping in the Hamptons. 2397 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton

IN SEASON Curated By Alie Mitchell

September may signal the end of summer everywhere else, but anyone who knows the Hamptons knows it is actually the best month out here. The water is warm, the crowds have thinned, and there are still plenty of beach days ahead. I am not ready to rush into fall, so this month is all about transitional dressing: pieces that hold onto the ease of summer while working for cooler mornings, unpredictable weather, and the return to a real routine. KIKI DE MONTPARNASSE BRINGS KIKI BEACH TO MONTAUK By Alie Mitchell

Kiki Beach at Gurney’s Montauk

Gabrielle Sumner, Penney Morash, Jaime Picone, Alexa Cahill, Karli Positano, Julia Levi

This August, Kiki de Montparnasse brought the spirit of the house to Montauk for a summer weekend at Gurney’s, culminating in an afternoon on the sand celebrating its latest swim and resort collections. The weekend began Friday and Saturday with a Kiki de Montparnasse residency inside the Gurney’s boutique, where guests discovered the house’s ready-to-wear, swim, and summer essentials. On Sunday, a private cabana became Kiki Beach, bringing together friends of the brand for an afternoon of fashion in Montauk. At the center of the weekend was Kiki’s latest take on summer dressing, pairing sleek swim silhouettes with resort pieces designed to move effortlessly from beach to evening. Italianmade silk crochet, sheer knits, and fluid, body-skimming dresses brought texture and ease to a collection made for long summer days. “Kiki has always been about creating a world around intimacy, confidence, and personal expression,” says Alexa Cahill, CEO of Kiki de Montparnasse. “As we expand beyond lingerie into ready-to-wear, swim, resort, and home, we’re thinking about how Kiki becomes part of every facet of our customer’s life. Montauk felt like a natural place to bring that vision to life.” Cahill and Karli Positano, global vice president, welcomed Hamptons locals and friends of the brand, including

Polina Kutaeva

Julia Levi, co-founder of Southampton’s Charlie Fox, where Kiki is carried locally. The two brands have also collaborated on Le Charlie Fox, a limited-edition cashmere capsule inspired by heritage sport and summers in the Hamptons. “I’ve loved Kiki for a long time, so bringing the brand into Charlie Fox felt incredibly natural,” says Levi. “There’s a shared point of view around confidence and creating a lifestyle around the things you love. Seeing that spirit come to life in Montauk felt like a perfect expression of the brand.” Also stopping by was Hamptons luxury real estate expert and content creator Polina Kutaeva. “There’s something about Kiki that feels so at home in the Hamptons,” says Kutaeva. “It’s sophisticated and sensual, but still effortless. The swim and resort pieces are exactly how you want to dress here, whether you’re at the beach or heading somewhere afterward.” Best known for its elevated approach to lingerie, Kiki has expanded into ready-to-wear, swim, resort, and most recently, home, with the debut of Sensate by Kiki de Montparnasse, a collection of luxury home essentials that brings the house’s signature aesthetic into the spaces we live in. In Montauk, that evolution came together effortlessly: a cabana filled with friends, a collection made for summer, and a day spent by the sea. Social Life

YOUR EYES OUT EAST By Ruby Saracino

Ruby Saracino is a New York City– and Montauk–based lifestyle creator, marketer, and tastemaker whose content follows the rhythm of summers out east and life in the city. Whether she’s documenting the latest hotspots, wellness routines, or behind-the-scenes moments, her content is an invitation to the places everyone wants to be. She recently went viral after her surprise cameo with Lil Yachty at The Surf Lodge, with the moment reaching millions across Instagram and TikTok and cementing her as one of the summer’s breakout creators. For more, follow @rubysaracino on Instagram.

As summer comes to a close, I think it’s only right that we look back at all we learned from a summer of events, parties, dinners, and nights out east. Consider this what I’m taking with me to make next summer even better. Big dinner reservations can be tough. A lot of the best spots out east don’t even take reservations, so sometimes the move is bringing dinner home. At home hibachi, takeout from your favorites like Fini Pizza, Doubles, or Hampton Chutney, or if you’re feeling fancy, spring for a private chef. Mostest (@joinmostest) is also a killer option that can help you pull the whole thing together. Less coordinating, more fun… Or bring dinner to the beach. Pick up sushi from my fave, Wasabi Beach, grab some blankets and pillows, and turn dinner into a whole sunset moment. It’s an easy way to make a casual night feel special without worrying about a reservation. If you want to go all out, call Real Hospitality Inc. (@realhospitalityservices) and let them handle the entire setup for you.

Pack less. Between the local shops and endless summer popups, you’d be surprised by how many goodies you can score while you’re out east. Some of my favorites are Annabelle’s in Sag Harbor, Warm in Amagansett, and Montauk General Store in Montauk. And honestly, the pop-ups are half the fun. This summer I loved Splits59 at Fuze House, Ali Weiss Jewelry at Leallo, Pre Loved Montauk at RE/DONE, LoveShackFancy at The Surf Lodge, and the Vivrelle x Kith pop-up in Bridgehampton. Basically, pack light and leave some room in your suitcase. You’ll thank me later. Come prepared. Going out east is just easier when you know the deal. Cash for Talkhouse, ticket or table sorted for Surf Lodge, and if you’re dealing with a tough door, smaller groups are always your friend. If you have a big crew, split up into groups of one or two and meet inside. A little planning before goes a long way. Basically: Plan less, be flexible, and know how to make your own fun. See you next summer. Social Life

WHY WHEATGRASS SHOTS WILL NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE By Liana Werner-Gray

Fashion trends come and go, but true beauty never goes out of style. While skin-care products, supplements, and wellness fads are constantly evolving, one green ritual has remained a favorite among health enthusiasts for decades: the fresh wheatgrass

shot. Tiny but incredibly powerful, this vibrant green juice delivers a concentrated dose of nutrients that support beauty and wellness from the inside out. Here are seven reasons why wheatgrass deserves a permanent place in your daily routine.

Our liver and digestive system work around the clock to eliminate unwanted compounds, and consuming chlorophyll-rich foods may help support these natural processes. Think of wheatgrass as one of the simplest ways to nourish your body at a deeper level.

Your Gut Loves It Too Beauty truly begins in the gut. A healthy digestive system supports nutrient absorption, hormone balance, immune function, and vibrant skin. Wheatgrass contains antioxidants and plant compounds that may help reduce inflammation while supporting a healthy digestive environment. Emerging research suggests chlorophyll may also positively influence the gut microbiome by encouraging the growth of beneficial bacteria. While wheatgrass isn’t a replacement for a balanced diet, it’s an easy daily habit that complements a healthy lifestyle and helps your body function at its best.

It May Help You Feel Like Yourself Again It’s One of Nature’s Most Nutrient-Dense Foods Fresh wheatgrass is often celebrated as one of the most nutrientdense greens available. It’s commonly said that one ounce of fresh wheatgrass juice provides nutrients comparable to several pounds of dark leafy greens, making it an easy way to flood your body with vitamins A, C, E, and K, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, and antioxidants—all in one quick shot.

It Helps You Glow From Within Healthy skin, shiny hair, and strong nails begin with proper nutrition. Wheatgrass is naturally rich in chlorophyll, the green pigment that gives plants their vibrant color. Research published in the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology suggests that chlorophyll has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that help protect cells from oxidative stress, one of the key drivers of premature aging. When you nourish your body at the cellular level, your complexion often reflects it, creating the kind of natural glow no highlighter can replicate.

Fresh Is Best for High Energy One reason wheatgrass has remained a wellness staple is because fresh juice is incredibly potent. Many of its delicate enzymes and phytonutrients begin to diminish after juicing, making freshly harvested wheatgrass especially valuable. The good news? It’s surprisingly easy to grow at home using organic seeds, water, and sunlight. Within days, you’ll have your own fresh supply ready for daily shots.

It’s Rich in Chlorophyll—Nature’s Green Elixir Often called “liquid sunshine,” chlorophyll is one of wheatgrass’s greatest gifts. Studies have found chlorophyll and its deriva-

Many people experiencing unexplained fatigue, sluggishness, or simply feeling “off ” discover they’re lacking nutrient-dense foods. While wheatgrass is not a cure for illness and should never replace medical care, clinical research has explored its ability to support antioxidant defenses, reduce inflammation, and promote overall wellness. Its remarkable nutritional profile makes it a valuable addition to a health-conscious lifestyle.

Timeless Wellness Is Always in Fashion Luxury isn’t just what you wear—it’s how you care for yourself. Investing in your health will always be fashionable. A one-ounce wheatgrass shot takes less than 30 seconds to drink, yet it can become one of the most impactful rituals of your day. Sometimes the smallest daily habits create the most lasting results. If you’d like to grow your own, wheatgrass is surprisingly simple to cultivate at home. Or, for ultimate convenience, you can enjoy fresh organic wheatgrass from 800 Wheatgrass, where it’s organically grown in upstate New York and harvested for maximum freshness and potency. The Manhattan Reset By Jeanette Zinno

After a season of sun, salt, and summer escapes, fall in Manhattan calls for a fresh routine. These are the wellness destinations I’ll be returning to for movement, beauty, and a little much-needed restoration.

JINsoon—Tribeca A little city reset starts with a visit to JINsoon. Known for its elevated nail care and serene atmosphere, this Tribeca retreat transforms a simple manicure or pedicure into a true beauty ritual. After months of beach days and barefoot walks, it’s the perfect place to restore hands and feet while indulging in a moment of relaxation.

Pure Barre—Flatiron As my fall schedule fills up, Pure Barre is the workout I’ll be returning to for a full-body reset. The ballet-inspired classes combine strength training, flexibility, and mindful movement to create a challenging yet energizing experience. It’s the ideal way to build strength, improve posture, and stay consistent as the season shifts back into a faster city pace.

Haven Spa—NoHo For moments when I need to slow down, Haven Spa remains my Manhattan escape. Offering indulgent facials, massages, and beauty treatments, this downtown sanctuary is designed for complete relaxation and renewal. After a busy summer season, it’s the ideal destination to unwind, recharge, and maintain a little bit of that vacation feeling well into fall.

Padel Haus—Dumbo I’ll be swapping summer tennis matches for Padel Haus this fall, where fitness and fun come together. This social racquet sport offers an exciting way to stay active while enjoying a lively atmosphere with friends. With its stylish courts and energetic community, it’s the perfect alternative to a traditional workout—and one of the most enjoyable ways to keep moving in the city.

OISHII’S SWEETEST NEW ADDRESS A LUXURY STRAWBERRY EXPERIENCE AT CHELSEA MARKET

Chelsea Market has a new jewel for food lovers. Opened August 20, Oishii’s inaugural retail kiosk brings the company’s most exceptional fresh berries, three exclusive pastries, and more to one of New York’s most delicious destinations. More than a place to pick up strawberries, it invites visitors to slow down and discover how extraordinary a single piece of fruit can be. At the kiosk’s heart is the Connoisseur Grade Omakase Berry, representing the top 1% of Oishii’s harvest. The berries stay on the vine longer to reach the furthest edge of their natural flavor intensity before Oishii’s berry sommelier hand-selects each one for ultimate sweetness, size, and beauty. They are available in one- or two-tray presentations, set in custom keepsake gift boxes; each tray contains six berries. Highly sensitive by nature, they are offered only at the kiosk and through Oishii’s website. “Omakase” means “I’ll leave it up to you” in Japanese, an homage to trusting a chef to create an exceptional experience. The Connoisseur Grade Koyo Berry offers another kind of luxury—and is available exclusively as a single berry at the kiosk. Each berry is selected for its size and beauty, individually measured for sweetness, and offered at its peak expression. Named after the Japanese word for “elated,” the Koyo Berry is meant to evoke the vivid delight of tasting a strawberry as a child.

The three pastries were created exclusively by Japanese chef Yoshie Nakanishi, Executive Pastry Chef at Odo and Pastry Cook at Le Café Louis Vuitton. The Oishii Strawberry Cookie Sando places a striped filling of white-chocolate cream and dehydrated Oishii Berries between butter cookies, creating a bite that is crunchy, creamy, and chewy. It is also available in a gift-ready box of four. The Oishii Strawberry Coconut Cream Puff is an airy choux pastry filled with rich and refreshing toasted and caramelized coconut cream surrounding a bright Oishii Berry jam center, then finished with powdered strawberry. The result is delicate, cloud-like, and intensely berry-forward. Part parfait and part cake jar, the Oishii White Chocolate Strawberry Parfait combines almond crumble, white-chocolate-flavored yogurt mousse, Oishii Berry sauce, Oishii Berry gelée, and sponge cake. Each spoonful moves between creamy, fruity, tender, and crisp. Together, the five featured creations transform Oishii’s strawberries from beautiful produce into a complete tasting experience. At Chelsea Market, Japanese precision, inventive pastry, and the pleasure of exceptional fruit make sweetness feel like an occasion. Social Life

WELLNESS FROM THE GROUND UP DR. NEAL BLITZ WEIGHS IN By Laura Hearst

Dr. Neal Blitz

We invest in fitness, nutrition, skin care, sleep, and increasingly, longevity. Yet one part of the body that makes so much of an active life possible is often ignored until something hurts: our feet. Dr. Neal Blitz, the New York- and Beverly Hills-based foot and ankle surgeon known as The Bunion King®, believes it’s time we paid them more attention. “Movement is the key to wellness,” says Dr. Blitz, creator of the Bunionplasty 360 Bunion Repair and founder and CEO of Voom Medical Devices. Consider how much of the life we love happens on our feet: morning workouts, tennis and pickleball matches, walking through a new city, dancing at a wedding, or spending a summer day in the Hamptons. When walking becomes painful, those everyday pleasures can become more difficult. Dr. Blitz has built his career around challenging the idea that patients should simply accept foot pain—or fear the treatment for it. After seeing how conventional bunion surgery could involve significant downtime and immobilization, he developed the minimally invasive Bunionplasty 360 Bunion Repair. Using tiny incisions, reconstructive and plastic surgery techniques, and patented technology, his approach allows many patients to

walk immediately after surgery in a surgical sandal through his No Casts No Crutches recovery philosophy, even when both feet are corrected during a single surgery. While bunions earned him the moniker The Bunion King, his expertise extends across reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. His practice treats conditions including hammertoes, flat feet, Achilles tendon problems, fractures, sportsrelated injuries, and complex revision cases. The common thread is his focus on helping patients return to the lives they want to lead. That’s what makes foot health about far more than feet. Our ability to move comfortably affects how we exercise, travel, work, socialize, and enjoy everyday life. For people who want to remain active, addressing foot problems rather than simply accommodating them can make a meaningful difference. Dr. Blitz sums up his approach simply: “I may operate on feet, but I’m treating people.” It’s a fitting philosophy for a surgeon who has spent his career looking down at our feet while thinking about the much bigger lives they carry. u

DR . MICHAEL HALL IS CHANGING THE WAY WE THINK ABOUT AGING By Jeremy Murphy That philosophy has drawn a notably eclectic clientele— Drake, Michael Caine, Ryan Seacrest, Kodak Black, and former New York Giants linebacker Jonathan Beason among them. But Hall is quick to flatten the mystique. The principles that work for a touring musician or a pro athlete, he insists, are the same ones that work for everyone else. LOOKING BEYOND LIFESPAN Hall’s training reads like a tour of American medicine: the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Medicine, Weill Cornell, Memorial Sloan Kettering, New York University, and the University of Miami, where he completed a fellowship in integrative and functional medicine. Clinical work abroad sharpened a conviction he’d been circling for years—that medicine too often shows up late, treating the fire instead of checking the wiring. His alternative is a single, sticky idea: health span. Not how long you live, but how long you stay physically and mentally capable of enjoying it. It’s the gap between his grandmother’s 104 years and the 89 she spent as herself. Covid, he notes, moved the culture in his direction. After a global lesson in fragility, more people started asking how to stay well rather than how to get patched up after they weren’t.

Dr. Michael Hall’s grandmother lived to 104. It sounds like a triumph—until he tells you the rest. “She had dementia for about 15 years,” he says. Fifteen years of a long life spent unable to recognize the people who loved her. To Hall, that number explains everything that’s wrong with how we talk about growing old. We keep score with the wrong statistic. For decades, the conversation around aging has fixated on the surface: erasing wrinkles, chasing miracle supplements, hunting for the next breakthrough injection. Hall thinks that entire framing misses the point. The founder of Hall Longevity Clinic in Miami Beach, Hall has spent nearly 40 years practicing medicine, more than two decades of it in longevity, and his new book, Infinite Youth: Solving the Aging Equation, makes an argument that sounds almost radical in an industry built on vanity: The goal has never been to look younger. “It’s about staying healthy, energetic, and independent for as long as you can,” Hall says.

THE AGING FUNNEL At the center of Infinite Youth sits Hall’s proprietary framework, the Aging Funnel. Where the popular imagination treats aging as a genetic sentence handed down at birth, the model reframes it as an accumulation—thousands of ordinary choices funneling, day by day, toward how the back half of your life will feel. “The biggest misconception is that there’s some supplement or medication that’s going to change your life,” Hall says. “There is no magic pill.” What there is, in his telling, is the compounding interest of good habits. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OF LONGEVITY Hall organizes those habits into what he calls the Ten Commandments of Longevity, and their power is in how unglamorous they are: Prioritize quality sleep, move every day, manage stress, eat real food, stay socially connected, and keep challenging both body and mind. He reserves special emphasis for muscle, which he frames less as an aesthetic project Social Life

He’s also a believer in what he calls incidental exercise: not another hour chained to a treadmill but movement stitched into the seams of an ordinary day. “We were not meant to sit inside a building in front of a computer all day,” he says. Aging, in his framing, isn’t fate. It’s a set of levers most people never realize they’re allowed to pull. SLEEP AS MEDICINE Of all those levers, sleep sits near the top. Poor sleep, Hall explains, doesn’t just leave you tired—it drives inflammation, scrambles hormones, and erodes physical performance, night after uncounted night. And he’s refreshingly honest about the fact that “just get eight hours” is useless advice to anyone who’s ever actually tried. So he trades the mandate for a method: Dim the screens before bed, keep the late-night news out of the bedroom, hold the room cool, and go down at the same time every night. Do that, and sleep stops being a nightly gamble and starts doing what it’s supposed to—repairing the body while the nervous system resets. PERSONALIZED CARE OVER INTERNET ADVICE Most patients arrive at Hall’s office already exhausted—not by illness but by information: endless conflicting headlines, SocialLifeMagazine.com

influencer protocols, supplement rabbit holes. “They want somebody they can trust,” he says. Rather than issue the same recommendations to everyone, Hall builds each plan from the ground up, keyed to a patient’s medical history, lab work, goals, and life. His clinic leans hard into early detection, using advanced screening to catch trouble while it’s still silent—the window when a course correction is still easy. The mission, as he describes it, is to get ahead of the problems that would otherwise derail a life before they ever announce themselves. A ROAD MAP FOR HEALTHIER AGING As longevity medicine explodes into a full-blown cultural obsession, Hall’s posture is notably measured. Peptides, hormone therapies, regenerative medicine, and the rest of the emerging tool kit may genuinely have value, he allows—but only in the hands of sound medical guidance and on a foundation of daily habits, never as a substitute for them. That’s the thesis of Infinite Youth: Solving the Aging Equation. Healthy aging isn’t purchased in a vial or unlocked by a shortcut. It’s assembled out of thousands of small decisions—the kind that don’t feel like much on any given Tuesday, but that add up over a lifetime to the difference between simply living long and living well the whole way through. u

DR . LYLE LEIPZIGER EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT A FACELIFT FROM ONE OF THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER’S AESTHETIC GURUS By Brittany Marshak skin laxity along the jawline, neck, and lower face while still maintaining good skin quality and overall health,” says Dr. Leipziger. “Many patients begin considering surgery when they feel their reflection no longer matches how youthful they feel.” Rather than focusing on age alone, plastic surgeons evaluate skin elasticity, facial anatomy, a patient’s goals, as well as overall health when determining candidacy.

Recently recognized as one of The Hollywood Reporter’s Best Cosmetic Doctors and Aesthetic Gurus in America 2026, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Lyle Leipziger explains how today’s facelift techniques have evolved. Modern facelifts are designed to restore youthful contours by repositioning the underlying facial tissues rather than simply tightening the skin, delivering refreshed, natural-looking results that preserve each patient’s unique features. Whether you’re beginning to notice sagging skin or simply wondering what a facelift can realistically achieve, understanding what the procedure can and can’t accomplish is essential. Here, Dr. Leipziger shares everything you need to know before considering a facelift. WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR A FACELIFT? The best candidates are individuals with moderate to significant facial aging that can no longer be effectively treated with nonsurgical procedures. “The ideal patient has noticeable

WHAT DOES ENHANCED RECOVERY LOOK LIKE? “Recovery after a facelift is specifically designed to protect the surgical result, maximize proper healing, and minimize swelling and bruising,” says Dr. Leipziger. For the first three days, he recommends continuous application of cold compresses and ice packs, while keeping the head elevated. Patients should avoid lifting, bending, strenuous exercise, or anything that raises blood pressure, as these activities can increase bleeding and swelling. Driving is generally restricted until the first postoperative visit, around one week after surgery. Light prescription pain medication is usually no longer needed after a few days. Additionally, hair can be washed with a mild shampoo after three or four days. He recommends towel drying or light blow-drying on cold to avoid heat at the suture lines. He also recommends a short course of postoperative antibiotics to minimize infection risks. Social Life

Dr. Lyle Leipziger

WHAT TYPES OF FACELIFTS ARE AVAILABLE? There is no one-size-fits-all facelift. Depending on a patient’s needs, surgeons may recommend a mini facelift for early aging, a full facelift for more advanced concerns, which may include techniques that lift the deeper facial support structures for longer-lasting, natural-looking results. “The procedure should always be individualized,” says Dr. Leipziger. “I prefer a dual plane facelift approach that allows elevation of sagging, deeper tissues as well as repositioning the skin for youthful definition.” Many patients also combine a facelift with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) for even more comprehensive rejuvenation. In addition, judicious use of fat grafting restores facial volume to deflated areas. This is especially true for patients that have had significant weight loss, possibly from GLP-1s, prior to facelift surgery.

HOW LONG IS THE DOWNTIME? Most bruising and swelling occur during the first three to five days. Sutures are typically removed within seven to 10 days, and patients can begin returning to light activities. “Around three weeks, most patients feel socially presentable with coverup makeup and are comfortable returning to light daily routines and office work,” says Dr. Leipziger. While most visible swelling resolves within four to six weeks, final results continue to refine over the next three to six months. “Many of my patients tell me that they feel as if they were placed in a time machine, transported to a more youthful version of themselves,” says Dr. Leipziger. WHEN CAN YOU EXERCISE AGAIN? Light walking is encouraged after several days to promote circulation, but more strenuous exercise should wait. “Doing too much too soon may raise blood pressure, strain healing facial tissues, and result in increased swelling or even bleeding,” says Dr. Leipziger. Heavy lifting, running, cycling, and intense workouts should generally be postponed for at least six to eight weeks or until cleared by your surgeon.

surgery and discontinue medications or supplements that increase bleeding. He also stresses avoiding smoking and nicotine products for at least four to six weeks before and after surgery to minimize healing complications. Staying hydrated, eating a protein-rich diet, and carefully following postoperative instructions all contribute to an enhanced recovery. “Following all these strategies will help ensure a recovery that is smooth and efficient,” he explains. CHOOSING THE RIGHT SURGEON Because facelift results can last many years, selecting an experienced surgeon is essential. “Patients should choose a board-certified plastic surgeon who performs facelift surgery regularly and can demonstrate consistently natural results,” says Dr. Leipziger. “The consultation is just as important as the procedure itself because it establishes realistic expectations and develops a personalized surgical plan. Patients want to look like themselves—just younger and revitalized,” says Dr. Leipziger. “The goal is to enhance and not change someone’s identity—it’s to help them look like the best version of themselves.” u

PREPARING FOR SURGERY IS JUST AS IMPORTANT Recovery begins before the operation itself. Each of Dr. Leipziger’s patients must receive medical clearance before SocialLifeMagazine.com

LAUREN BEN-MEIR AND ATTAIN MED SPA BEAUTY PRODUCTS By Inna DeSilva

Lauren Ben‑Meir

Odell Beckham Jr.

Lauren Ben‑Meir and her med spa, Attain, seem to be everywhere these days. Sports Illustrated events: Check. The 2025 and 2026 Super Bowls: Check again. An ongoing collaboration with one of the chicest hotels in New York City, the French darling, Fouquet: Check. Attain even made an appearance at Coachella this year through Kourtney Kardashian’s Poosh Wellness brand. When you meet Lauren in person, she is a sexy dynamo with boundless energy. She is also a single mother of three who is building her businesses with one clear trajectory: upward. Her story begins in Hoboken, New Jersey, where she opened Attain in 2019. The loft‑style spa quickly became known for offering hard‑to‑find treatments like Kybella contouring, Truflex, and advanced hair‑restoration therapies. And now Attain is expanding, with a second location opening in Miami this fall. But one of Lauren’s proudest achievements is her Attain Skincare line, built on this philosophy: “Out of the treatment room and into your home.” The line already boasts celebrity fans including Bethenny Frankel, Odell Beckham Jr., and the Nader sisters. It is on track to hit $1 million in sales across

multiple retail channels and is currently sold through IPSY. Lauren has also formed genuine friendships with many of the celebrities who stop by her pop‑ups at A‑list events. Take Brooks Nader, who is gearing up to star in the upcoming Baywatch reboot. The two met at a Sports Illustrated event and have supported each other ever since. Lauren was at the opening of Bethenny Frankel’s Supermodel Cafe pop-up in East Quogue in August providing the goody bags for the occasion. And it is not just models: Many star NFL players have gotten refreshed with Attain facials and vitamin drips during Lauren’s popular pop-ups throughout the year. It’s clear that Lauren Ben‑Meir and Attain are shaping the future of beauty and wellness, and the industry is taking notice. When asked where she sees her brand five years from now, she says, “I want to be in stores nationwide with a wide range of products for men, women, and teens continuing to make people’s lives easier.” u

A NEW SEASON AT FS TENNIS CLUB By Helena Harlow

September brings a new rhythm to the Hamptons, and at FS Tennis Club, a new season of tennis is just getting started. With junior programming designed to take players from their earliest introduction to the game through more advanced development, the club offers young athletes a place to learn, progress, and build confidence throughout the indoor season. Running from September through June, the club’s Junior Development Program gives young players a consistent environment to build their game. Led by experienced tennis professionals, the program focuses on developing technique, coordination, and confidence while keeping tennis engaging for players at every stage. This fall also brings the introduction of Little Stars Tennis, a new after-school group program created specifically for ages 3 and 4. Designed as an early introduction to the sport, Little Stars uses movement, games, and ageappropriate activities to help the club’s youngest players become comfortable with a racket and on the court. The emphasis is less on competition and more on creating a positive first experience with tennis. For children ready to continue building their skills, Red Ball Tennis offers a natural next step. Smaller courts, lower-compression balls, and equipment suited to young players make

it easier to learn the fundamentals of the game while developing coordination, technique, and confidence. The goal is to give children the right foundation while encouraging the enthusiasm that keeps them coming back to the court. FS Tennis Club is also expanding where those first experiences with tennis can happen. Through its In-School Tennis Programming, the club’s professionals bring instruction directly to schools and early childhood centers. At the Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center, FS Tennis Club pros lead group lessons for preschool students, making tennis part of their school-day experience. Across its youth programming, the philosophy is simple: Meet players at the right level, provide thoughtful professional instruction, and make the game something they genuinely enjoy. For some children, that may mean picking up a racket for the first time; for others, it means continuing to develop toward more-competitive play. The opportunities extend beyond junior tennis. FS Tennis Club offers programming throughout the year, including adult clinics, private lessons, holiday and summer camps, seasonal programs, court rentals, tournaments, and leagues. From a child’s first swing to a lifetime on the court, FS Tennis Club is creating a place to keep playing, developing, and enjoying the game year-round. Social Life

JEAN SHAFIROFF INTERVIEWS ANA OLIVEIRA, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF THE NEW YORK WOMEN’S FOUNDATION By Jean Shafiroff As The New York Women’s Foundation approaches its 40th anniversary, president and CEO Ana L. Oliveira is preparing to step down after 20 years of leadership. Jean Shafiroff sat down with Ana to reflect on leadership, community, and what comes next for The New York Women’s Foundation. I’ve watched you lead The New York Women’s Foundation through many different moments. Looking back, what has remained constant? Ana Oliveira: The people have remained constant. I’ve always believed that those closest to the problems are also closest to the solutions. That belief has guided everything we’ve done. We listen before we act. We build long-term relationships with community partners and believe in ideas early, often before others recognize their potential. Over the years, I’ve seen those ideas grow into organizations that strengthen neighborhoods, influence public policy, and create opportunities across New York City.

yourself to it. Fight to win. None of us can solve every problem, but each of us can choose where we make a difference. When people stay committed, support one another, and keep moving forward together, real change becomes possible. You always seem to look for ways to say yes. Why does that matter so much to you? Saying yes isn’t about saying yes to everything. It’s about believing in people before the outcome is certain. Some of the most important work begins with someone who simply needs another person to believe in them. That’s how opportunities are created, and that’s how communities grow stronger.

You often speak about choosing action instead of waiting. Why has that always been so important to you? Because progress doesn’t happen on its own. I often tell people to pick their fight. Continue to show up and dedicate

Jean Shafiroff by Michael Paniccia

New York City has changed so much over the years. Has that changed how you lead The New York Women’s Foundation? Over the years, we’ve faced many different challenges: a global pandemic; rising housing costs; attacks on the rights of women, LGBTQ+ people, and immigrant communities; and growing pressure on the organizations working closest to these challenges. Those moments reinforced my belief that we cannot afford to wait for the perfect moment. We create the future by acting today, even when the path ahead isn’t completely clear.

As The New York Women’s Foundation begins its next chapter, what do you hope people will continue to believe in? I hope we never lose sight of why The New York Women’s Foundation exists. For 40 years, we’ve listened carefully, acted with purpose, and stood alongside communities as they create change. That work doesn’t belong to any one person. It belongs to all of us: community partners, donors, volunteers, board members, staff, and everyone who believes that lasting change begins in communities. Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, co-founders and creative directors of MONSE, were celebrated with an intimate summer evening in Water Mill hosted by Devorah Rose. The gathering brought together figures from fashion, entertainment, beauty, and media, including Olympia of Greece, Stacey Bendet, Sailor Brinkley Cook, Jenny Mollen, Macrene Alexiades, Alexandra Richards, Alexandra Idol, and Alexander Hankin. Set beneath a gleaming white tent at a private Hamptons residence, the evening transformed the space into an immersive expression of MONSE’s pre-fall world. Oversize sunflowers with their petals playfully plucked were arranged alongside tiered silver platters overflowing with cherries, echoing the collection’s handdrawn cherry motif and the house’s instinct for unexpected details. Tamara Comolli Jewelry brought its signature world of colorful gemstones and effortless luxury to the evening. A curated selection of signature pieces invited guests to experiment with unexpected pairings and discover the jewelry alongside MONSE’s distinctive approach to dressing. An artfully composed grazing table featured seasonal produce, artisanal cheeses, tiered cherries, endless Keluga caviar, and bites arranged into an abundant still life using ingredients from

FreshDirect. Champagne flowed throughout the evening, while a Malfy Gin cart served its signature Malfy Spritz alongside Bloom Natural Energy Drink–infused botanical spritzes. As the sun began to set, the celebration evolved into a private MONSE styling experience, offering guests an intimate look at a curated selection from the brand’s current and upcoming collections. Crimson cherries continued across the tables, tying the setting back to the collection and its playful visual language. Bringing together MONSE clients, tastemakers, editors, and longtime supporters, the evening reflected Rose’s approach to hospitality: creating thoughtfully designed spaces where people from different corners of fashion and culture can meet, discover, and exchange ideas. The result was an evening in which the clothes, jewelry, food, and setting became part of the same conversation.

Devorah Rose and Kaleta Blaffer Johnson hosted a dinner to introduce Sterling Dio of The Studio Mayfair. Fashion insiders mixed with writers, actors, artists, entrepreneurs, and cultural figures, creating the sort of room where different generations and disciplines overlapped and inspired one another. The guest list had the eclectic chemistry that makes for a particularly lively dinner party. Hari Nef, Sailor Brinkley Cook, Candace Bushnell, Jenny Mollen, Fern Mallis, Peter J. Holt and Lauren Kate Holt, Lilly Hartley, and Gabby Kono joined Rose, Blaffer Johnson, and Dio. Guests arrived for cocktails before settling in for dinner, with a Malfy Gin Spritz Cart serving the Mayfair Malfy Spritz and Malfy Rosa Sparkling Lemonade, while Lalo Tequila cocktails circulated throughout the evening. Haus of Cellars selected the perfect wine pairing for each dinner dish. Dio kicked off the evening with an inspired speech, reflecting on her journey from designing on the floor of her home to finding herself seated that evening beside one of her fashion idols, Fern Mallis. She spoke about innovation, hard work, and the importance of grit, recognizing those same qualities in the people gathered around the table and the paths they had forged in their respective fields. That spirit extended naturally to the dinner itself. Guests whose work spans literature, film, design, business, and art chatted throughout the evening. Candace Bushnell laughed and bonded with Hari Nef, while Sailor Brinkley Cook, Gabby Kono, and Kaleta Blaffer Johnson traded summer stories. By the end of the evening, the dinner had taken on the feeling of a modern summer salon: intimate, conversational, and just eclectic enough to produce unexpected connections. In a season crowded with events, this particular evening had the perfect alchemy, with fashion serving not simply as the occasion for gathering but as the beginning of a conversation that lasted well into the night.

WashWise offered a pre-launch glimpse into its fresh approach to clothing care with The Reset Morning in Montauk, an intimate wellness gathering that brought together female founders, executives, editors, creators, and wellness leaders for a morning of movement, connection, and discovery. Hosted at the Montauk home of WashWise investors Bruna Petrillo and Max Blank, the event reflected founder Maria Cabral Menezes’s vision of creating space for women to connect while introducing a more intentional way to care for the clothes they love. The morning began with a yoga class led by Gigi Paris before flowing into a curated wellness experience featuring peptide treatments, B12 shots, mini therapy sessions, and sauna and cold plunges. A Founder Market showcased an impressive lineup of female-founded brands and products for guests to discover while meeting the entrepreneurs behind them. For founders unable to attend, WashWise displayed Founder Superpower cards alongside their products, highlighting the women behind the businesses and encouraging new connections throughout the entrepreneurial community. While community remained at the heart, the event also introduced guests to Reset Spray, the brand’s debut product launching August 10. Cabral Menezes, a former Citadel trader founded WashWise to challenge the idea that clothes should be washed after every wear, encouraging instead a betweenwear routine that helps garments stay fresher for longer.

Dubbed the “dry shampoo for clothes,” Reset Spray tackles the everyday dilemma of garments that are too clean to wash but not quite ready to wear again. The continuous fine-mist formula neutralizes odors, refreshes fabrics, reduces wrinkles, and revives clothing in seconds, helping extend the life of garments between washes. Made with bio-based ingredients, vegan, and safe for both skin and fabrics, it launches in two sizes and two signature scents, making it easy to use at home, after a workout, or while traveling. “Building WashWise has introduced me to an incredible community of women who are building thoughtful, category-defining businesses,” Cabral Menezes said. “We wanted The Reset Morning to be more than a brand event—we wanted it to be a space where founders could meet, collaborate, and celebrate one another. Some of the best opportunities in business come from genuine relationships, and it was incredibly rewarding to bring so many inspiring women together in one place.” Ahead of its launch, WashWise has become part of the Hamptons wellness scene through partnerships with Crow’s Nest, SoulCycle, KZ Pilates, and activations at The Surf Lodge. Judging by the conversations sparked at The Reset Morning, the brand is introducing more than a new product— it’s bringing a fresh perspective to everyday routines while reimagining how we care for clothing between washes. u

AGUA BY AGUA BENDITA CELEBRATES THE OPENING OF MARCHANTA OUT EAST By Winter Fairchild

Agua by Agua Bendita and Marchanta celebrated the opening of Marchanta Out East with an intimate cocktail reception in East Hampton, bringing together fashion, design, fragrance, and Latin American craftsmanship for a month-long summer residency. Hosted by Agua by Agua Bendita and CAKE, with model Kate Love joining as special guest host, the evening welcomed Catalina Álvarez and Mariana Hinestroza, co-founders and creative directors of Agua by Agua Bendita, alongside Marchanta founder and creative director Raylin Díaz. Guests included Hiandra Martinez, Francelys Infante, Chris Burch, Monica Varela, Arthur Vallin, Devorah Rose, Dwarmis Concepcion, Monika Chiang, and others from fashion and the creative community. Throughout the evening, guests explored Agua by Agua Bendita’s latest ready-to-wear and resort collections, known for romantic silhouettes, hand-illustrated botanical prints, intricate embroidery, and a sensibility rooted in the landscapes and artisanal traditions of Latin America. The Colombian house’s collections were presented alongside a curated mix of Marchanta, Donde Esteban, Monica Varela, Arthur Vallin,

Parme Marin, Aedes de Venustas, N2B4B, and Marmotech. Located at 62 Newtown Lane, Marchanta Out East brings together fashion, home, fragrance, and design in a space conceived by Díaz as both a retail destination and a platform for discovery. Marchanta, founded in the Dominican Republic, draws upon Caribbean landscapes, memories, and traditions to create sculptural objects and fragrances that pair regional craftsmanship with contemporary design. The collaboration between the two houses reflects a shared emphasis on storytelling and the creative heritage of Latin America. Rather than approaching the East Hampton residency as a traditional summer pop-up, the space places designers and artisans within a broader conversation around culture, craftsmanship, and community. The opening offered a fitting introduction: Guests moved between collections and objects over cocktails, discovering the designers and stories behind them. Through September 8, Marchanta Out East will continue with cultural experiences and gatherings celebrating Latin American creativity in its many forms. Social Life

PARIS WHERE TO STAY, EAT, AND GO By R. Couri Hay

Saint James

Saint James Outdoor Bar

Paris is always a good idea, and this season the City of Light will be bursting with an array of superb things to do and see. If you’re planning an early fall visit, I’ve rounded up some tips on fabulous dining options and must-see exhibitions gleaned during my early spring visit.

The circular driveway is dotted with boxwood topiaries in black urns. The great room soars three stories, and the double-width staircase is suitable for an emperor. Alice could host a Mad Hatter tea party here without changing a chair. Constructed in 1892 in the imperial Napoleonic style, this is Paris’s only château hotel and boasts its own enchanting 50,000-square-foot garden, formerly the grounds of Paris’s first hot air balloon field. Now there is a chic outdoor folly that serves as a bar. There is also a pavilion surrounded by lush plantings and covered with fragrant climbing vines where drinks and lunch are served as birds chirp around you. The most charming garden parties are held here and the space adds to its feeling of remoteness.

WHERE TO STAY: SAINT JAMES PARIS On my most recent trip, during Paris Fashion Week, I checked into my favorite Parisian hotel, The Saint James. It lies in the heart of the quiet, leafy 16th arrondissement, mere steps from the elegant Avenue Foch. As your car enters, you are greeted by a formal fountain that adds its natural splash to the soundtrack of Parisian life.

Saint James, Victor Hugo Apartment

Yet the hotel is a short walk from the famous Bois de Boulogne park and the Frank Gehry-designed Louis Vuitton Foundation. The Palais de Tokyo and Museum of Modern Art are a 15-minute stroll, and the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysées are 20 minutes on foot. Built at the behest of the widow of former French president Adolphe Thiers, the edifice that houses the hotel was originally used to host a small number, only 15 at a time, of France’s most promising students on scholarships. The leather-bound books and comfy, deep armchairs are not just décor in their Library Bar, where nowadays, lunch, tea and cocktails are served. The room once served as a working library, dating from the property’s student housing era. In the 1980s, the building was turned into a private club and in 1991 became the hotel we know and love today. Now The Saint James is part of the Relais & Châteaux collection, a collection of nearly 600 properties around the globe. There is a new look to the Saint James, although none of the 19th-century charm has been sacrificed; rather, it has been gracefully enhanced by interior designer Laura Gonzalez in a multiyear renovation that debuted in 2022. Gonzalez ensured that each of the 56 guest rooms and suites has a unique flair to them. Her touches masterfully mix Versailles’s parquet flooring, geometric patterning, Japanese-style panoramic wallpaper, art deco accents, frescoes by local craftsmen, and custom rugs, bien sûr. The entire château feels like a posh English country estate with chic Parisian flair. Some new additions are glamourous duplexes and ground-floor suites with classic Parisian terraces. Their spa, fitness, and well-being area has also been transformed. The sublime Guerlain spa spans over 4,000 square feet and two SocialLifeMagazine.com

The Saint James’s signature treatment, the Dédicace Guerlain, is 90 minutes of blissful body and facial treatments and should not be missed. NEW VILLAS INCLUDING THE COURBET AND VICTOR HUGO APARTMENTS Now Gonzalez has focused her creative flair on yet another project at the hotel, transforming a gorgeous private home on the château’s grounds into Villa Saint James, comprising four luxurious apartments with private outdoor space, living areas, and kitchens. The Paris-based designer infused the villa’s elegant yet relaxed spaces with art deco and nature-inspired touches. The top floor Lamoureux apartment’s 645 square feet contains a living room, en suite bedroom, and kitchen with a private 95-square-foot terrace overlooking the villa’s private garden. The third floor Courbet apartment, at 750 square feet, offers a double bedroom, dressing room, a large living area with a unique winter garden, plus a lovely terrace with garden view. With views over the garden and Parisian rooftops, the Victor Hugo apartment connects to the Deluxe hotel room on the same floor, if you desire, for a total of 860 square feet. The full suite comprises two en suite bedrooms plus a sitting area, kitchen, and winter garden. The Longchamp apartment, with a spacious living room, bedroom, winter garden and kitchen opening onto the villa’s private garden, plus a terrace, is the largest of the four at 800 square feet. It connects to a two-bedroom suite on the garden level for a total of 1,400 square feet.

WHERE TO EAT: PARIS DINING

The 2007 Pixar animated film Ratatouille was inspired in part by La Tour d’Argent. A hall of fame with autographs and photos of illustrious guests includes a small illustration of Ratatouille signed by director Brad Bird, who spent days at the restaurant sketching the dining room. In August 2023, La Tour d’Argent reopened after a 15-month renovation, and now includes a ground-floor bar, luxury hotel suite, roof-top terrace, and an open kitchen in the dining room. Post-renovation, an inventory of its famed 300,000-bottle wine cellar shockingly revealed that more than 80 bottles of rare wine, worth $1.6 million, had disappeared. To date, the case has not been solved. Sounds like a perfect plot for a Ratatouille sequel to us! Famous for its signature duck dish, which is prepared theatrically at tableside, La Tour d’Argent offers a front-row view of Notre Dame Cathedral, which reopened in December 2024 following a 5-year renovation after the devastating 2019 fire. tourdargent.com CAVIAR KASPIA A fun choice for dinner is Caviar Kaspia, a great place to have a party in their private room, which holds up to 32 people. The main course here is the titular caviar served in generous scoops on a baked potato, which is absolutely scrumptious. I would recommend the salmon served on a pancake or the crab salad, all washed down with vodka and champagne.

La Tour d’Argent Signature Duck Dish

LA TOUR D’ARGENT: LEGENDARY RATATOUILLE INSPIRATION One of Paris’s most famous restaurants, La Tour d’Argent is in a league of its own. Considered the oldest restaurant in Paris, its history dates to 1582. The restaurant is where King Henry III used a fork for the first time, popularizing its use in France. In the centuries since, notables including Queen Elizabeth II, Theodore Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Charlie Chaplin, Salvador Dalí, Marilyn Monroe, Brad Pitt, and Angelina Jolie have graced its tables.

WHAT TO SEE: ART EXHIBITIONS A bounty of blockbuster exhibits are slated at Paris’s museums and galleries in early autumn 2026. Here are a few of the most anticipated. MUSÉE D’ORSAY “Statue of Liberty & Auguste Bartholdi: Liberty Enlightening the World” September 15, 2026, to January 31, 2027 To mark the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, the Musée d’Orsay presents an exhibition and a virtual reality experience dedicated to the work of Auguste Bartholdi, a major figure in 19th-century French sculpture and creator of iconic works, including the Statue of Liberty. Conceived as a gift from France to the U.S. and initially intended to commemorate the centennial of American independence in 1876, the statue was finally inaugurated 10 years later, in 1886. In the interim, Bartholdi and his supporters had to demonstrate imagination, audacity, and tenacity to design, promote, and build what was then the largest statue in the world (over 150 feet tall with its pedestal). The exhibition retraces the career of Auguste Bartholdi, an Alsatian sculptor with a visionary temperament, whose monumental ambition was evident from his earliest projects and deeply influenced by the political upheavals of his time. It explores the genesis of the Statue of Liberty, derived from a project originally conceived for the Suez Canal, then transformed into an allegorical figure celebrating American independence. The idea, championed by the FrancoAmerican Union, took shape through Bartholdi’s travels to the U.S.

and the exceptional mobilization of resources to raise the necessary funds. The image of the statue spread widely even before its completion, thanks to numerous articles published in the illustrated press and the presentation of full-scale models at the Universal Expositions of 1876 and 1878. GRAND PALAIS “Cezanne and Us” September 23, 2026, to January 17, 2027 This exhibition aims to present an overview of the body of work produced by Paul Cezanne (1839–1906) in terms of his artistic

MUSÉE DE L’ORANGERIE “Monet, Painting Time” September 30, 2026, to January 25, 2027 The year 2026 will mark the centenary of the death of the painter Claude Monet (1840–1926). To commemorate this anniversary, the Musée de l’Orangerie is organizing an exhibition focusing on the relationship between Monet’s work and time. He was considered the quintessential Impressionist artist as early as the 1870s, despite having participated in only five exhibitions of the group. His work quickly became synonymous with the “new painting” movement, so much did it encapsulate its characteristics (most often executed outdoors, with rapid brushstrokes and clear harmonies revealing the impression of a fleeting moment), before leading to one of its most singular and remarkable extensions. KEY WEST OCEAN KEY RESORT & SPA By Inna DeSilva

The southernmost point in the United States, Key West, has a way of winning people over. Part of the charm is simply getting there, as the drive along the Overseas Highway is one of America’s most scenic stretches of road suspended over turquoise water. And once you arrive, the island’s personality hits you at once. Key West blends Bahamian, Cuban, and Victorian influences, a mix reflected in everything from wooden cottages built by shipbuilders to ornate mansions constructed during the Gilded Age. It’s a place where history, eccentricity, and tropical vibes seem to coexist effortlessly. While Key West is full of boutique hotels and quirky inns, Ocean Key Resort & Spa stands out for all the right reasons. The location is unbeatable, right at the end of Duval Street, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, with postcard-perfect views of the water. The spa is small but excellent, the pool deck is chic without trying too hard, and the food throughout the property is consistently impressive. Service is polished, friendly, and refreshingly on point. Hot Tin Roof, the hotel’s signature restaurant, is easily one of Key West’s best dining rooms. The sunsets alone are worth

the reservation, and the atmosphere strikes that perfect balance of upscale and relaxed. A stylish local crowd mixes with hotel guests, creating an energy that feels celebratory without being chaotic. Go at sunset—trust me, the views are spectacular. Menu standouts include the grouper, duck confit, and crispy mojo chicken. Desserts are memorable in a way that lingers long after the trip: the pistachio chocolate brûlée and what might be the best key lime pie in Key West. Breakfast is another highlight, especially the toasted coconut key lime breakfast bread and the croissant French toast. Beyond the resort, Key West offers plenty to fill a long weekend: strolling through Mallory Square, wandering the historic seaport, popping into art galleries, biking through Old Town, or visiting the Hemingway House and its famously opinionated six‑toed cats. And when you need a break, there is always a breezy waterfront bar waiting with a cold drink and live music. With nonstop flights out of Newark and LaGuardia, getting to the Conch Republic is easy, making Ocean Key Resort & Spa an ideal escape when you want sun, charm, great food, and a little Key West magic. LDV AT THE MAIDSTONE WHERE HISTORY, ITALIAN ELEGANCE, AND THE HAMPTONS MEET By Robyn Freedman

Few properties in East Hampton possess the timeless charm and rich heritage of The Maidstone. The name itself dates back to 1648, when English Puritan settlers named the village after Maidstone, England—a legacy that continues through some of the Hamptons’ most iconic landmarks, including the renowned Maidstone Club and this beautifully restored hotel on Main Street. More than 150 years old, The Maidstone has welcomed generations of visitors while remaining one of East Hampton’s most treasured destinations. Today, that storied address has entered an exciting new chapter with LDV at The Maidstone, where the romance of Italy’s coastline is brought effortlessly to the heart of the Hamptons. From the moment you arrive, the setting is captivating. Beneath brilliant Hamptons blue skies, guests gather in an enchanting garden where whispering trees frame an atmosphere that feels almost cinematic. Elegant without pretension, the beautifully dressed clientele, attentive service, and relaxed sophistication recall the finest seaside restaurants along the Italian Riviera. It is refreshing to see fine dining elevated once again in the Hamptons.

At the heart of the experience is chef Jorge Espinoza, whose menu celebrates both Italian tradition and the extraordinary bounty of Long Island. Working with seasonal produce and the freshest local seafood, Espinoza creates dishes that are refined, vibrant, and beautifully balanced, allowing every ingredient to shine. The culinary journey begins with pristine Long Island oysters, exceptional crudos, and an impressive seafood plateau overflowing with oysters, crab cocktail, shrimp cocktail, crudo del giorno, chilled poached lobster, Alaskan king crab, and classic accompaniments—a spectacular presentation worthy of sharing. Among the standout starters, the octopus alla griglia is perfectly grilled, while the refreshing watermelon salad with ricotta salata, Persian cucumber, mint, and black olives captures the essence of summer. The charred broccolini, accented with toasted almonds and garlic chips, proves that even the simplest vegetables can become memorable when prepared with precision. The house-made pastas are among the menu’s greatest achievements. The delicate cappellacci, filled with cacio e pepe Social Life

and finished with brown butter and tender leeks, is exceptional, while the luxurious lobster ravioli, enriched with guanciale, saffron brodetto, and peas, delivers remarkable depth and elegance in every bite. Seafood lovers will appreciate the perfectly caramelized diver scallops, complemented by charred corn, Peruvian potatoes, and guanciale—a composition that balances sweetness, smokiness, and richness with remarkable finesse. For those seeking a truly memorable entrée, the magnificent 32-ounce bistecca alla Fiorentina is nothing short of spectacular. Finished with salsa verde, rosemary, and garlic butter, it is expertly prepared and ideal for sharing, embodying the spirit of classic Tuscan dining. Equally impressive is the thoughtfully curated wine program, where exceptional selections pair beautifully with each course, enhancing the authenticity and elegance of the overall experience. Beyond the cuisine, what distinguishes LDV at The Maidstone is its impeccable hospitality. The service is polished, warm, and intuitive, creating the effortless luxury that SocialLifeMagazine.com

Whether enjoying lunch beneath the summer sun, lingering over Sunday brunch, savoring Aperitivo in the late afternoon, or settling in for an unforgettable dinner, LDV at The Maidstone offers one of the Hamptons’ most complete dining experiences. Open year-round at 207 Main Street, East Hampton, LDV at The Maidstone is far more than a restaurant—it is a celebration of history, Italian culinary artistry, and Hamptons sophistication. BELMONT PARK VILLAGE IS THE ULTIMATE PRE-HAMPTONS RITUAL

There’s nothing quite like summer Friday energy in the city: The workload slows and the group chats light up with talk of weekend plans out east. The only predicament? Not having the right outfits for your packed social schedule. Thankfully, I’ve figured out the hack. While on route to the Hamptons recently, I stopped at Belmont Park Village, a luxury outlet mall a mere 30 minutes from Manhattan. What I expected to be a quick detour became a surprisingly pleasant layover, and more importantly, solved several of my packing regrets. The elegant, open-air design of the village makes for a serene experience. With a growing mix of designer boutiques, it’s expansive without being overwhelming. Instead of rushing between stores in a panic—like my usual downtown Manhattan dash—I found myself slowing down, wandering, and discovering pieces I had to have at prices that I couldn’t pass up. I began at Lululemon, where I found the perfect set for my Fuze House heated Pilates class—sleek, sculpted, and just polished enough to carry me into a post-workout coffee. Then, while in Missoni, I found a one-shoulder dress that is exactly what I envisioned for a golden-hour dinner at Tutto il Giorno. Accessories, naturally, followed. Kurt Geiger aced the finishing touches, while Sunglass Hut offered a Prada pair

that felt perfect for long drives and afternoons over rosé at Wölffer Estate. But what made Belmont Park Village feel truly special for me was the element of surprise. A jewel encrusted Valentino bag I had been eyeing for a while was now within reach. At Lacoste, I found that quintessentially American balance of sport and sophistication, ideal for a day at the Hampton Classic Horse Show or an impromptu tennis match before lunch at Pierre’s. And then there’s the ultimate luxury: being pampered and totally at ease. The hands-free shopping service meant I never even had to carry a bag. A team of concierges, complimentary parking, and luggage storage also means you really don’t have to sweat logistics for a second. Not only did I find everything I needed, but the draw of phenomenal prices and unexpected pieces convinced me to get ahead of future weekend plans too. As I paused for a quick lunch of Caesar salad and fries at Hundrefold, a brasserie from James Beard Award–winning chef Timothy Hollingsworth, I realized that my trip to Belmont Park Village wasn’t just about solving my last-minute wardrobe needs but about how I began my weekend. It’s the seamless transition point where the city fades and the weekend takes shape. Now I can’t imagine heading to the Hamptons without making this pit stop. Social Life

J E T- S E T T E R S T Y L E HOTEL LA GEMMA FLORENCE By Gregory DelliCarpini Jr. Photography by Lorenzo Vinti

Florence is a city that wears its history proudly. Renaissance palaces, centuries-old churches, and cobblestone streets invite visitors to look backward in time. Yet tucked discreetly along Via dei Cavalieri, just steps from Piazza della Repubblica and the Duomo, La Gemma offers a refreshingly contemporary interpretation of Florentine luxury that’s as intimate as it is sophisticated. Housed within the beautifully restored 19th-century Palazzo Paoletti, the boutique hotel features just 39 rooms and suites—more like an elegant private residence rather than a grand hotel. From the moment you step inside, the city’s lively energy gives way to an atmosphere of quiet refinement.

Rich marbles, jewel-toned velvets, polished brass accents, and art deco influences create interiors that are unmistakably Italian while still remaining modern. Every detail has been considered, striking a balance between timeless elegance and contemporary design. The accommodations continue this philosophy. Soft palettes of sage, ivory, and muted greens are paired with herringbone wood floors, luxurious linens, and beautifully appointed marble bathrooms. Many rooms frame rooftops or glimpses of Florence’s iconic skyline, serving as a gentle reminder that some of the world’s greatest artistic treasures lie just beyond your window. Social Life

ANDREA BERNAL AN EYE FOR HAMPTONS OPPORTUNITY By Laura Hearst

8 North Westbury Road in Hampton Bays

Andrea Bernal knows that some of the most compelling real estate opportunities are not always the most obvious. A real estate investor as well as a licensed real estate salesperson with Nest Seekers International, Bernal brings an investor’s perspective to her work, looking beyond aesthetics to the qualities that can make a property a smart acquisition. Her latest Hampton Bays listing, 8 North Westbury Road, is a case in point. Priced at $999,000, the five-bedroom, four-bathroom residence has been renovated from top to bottom, offering buyers the increasingly sought-after luxury of a home that is ready to enjoy. Set on 0.29 private acres in a quiet residential neighborhood, the property combines generous accommodations with extensive updates designed for effortless modern living. The renovation goes well beyond the surface. The home features new central HVAC, all-new electrical and plumbing systems, a propane gas conversion, and a new irrigation system. Hardwood and tile

flooring are among the interior finishes, while a main-level laundry room with a new washer and dryer adds everyday convenience. The layout provides considerable flexibility for both year-round living and Hamptons weekends filled with family and friends. A first-floor primary bedroom makes single-level living possible, while private guest quarters offer additional space and privacy. A two-car attached garage provides room for vehicles, storage, and beach gear. Downstairs, a substantial basement with ceilings exceeding seven feet presents another opportunity to personalize the property. The unfinished space could ultimately become a home gym, media room, or recreation area, depending on a future owner’s vision. Location adds another dimension to the offering. The home is situated minutes from the beaches, waterfront dining, shopping, and outdoor pursuits that define the Hampton Bays lifestyle, allowing owners to enjoy the East End while retreating to a peaceful residential setting. For Bernal, recognizing potential is informed by firsthand experience. Based in Nest Seekers’ Bridgehampton office, she has spent years working in property management and real estate investment in addition to representing clients. Her experience includes acquiring, renovating, managing, and selling properties, giving her insight into both the emotional and financial considerations that shape a real estate decision. It is a perspective that makes 8 North Westbury Road a natural fit for her portfolio. Rather than relying on spectacle, the property offers something increasingly appealing in the Hamptons: a thoughtfully renovated home with five bedrooms, flexible living space, private grounds, and the major improvements already completed. In a market famous for headline-making estates, Bernal understands that luxury can also mean finding the right opportunity. SocialLifeMagazine.com

At 8 North Westbury Road, that means a move-in-ready Hamptons home that brings together location, lifestyle, and the kind of thoughtful renovation that lets its next owner focus on what matters most: enjoying it.

PALM BEACH HOME OF THE MONTH 220 JUNGLE ROAD, PALM BEACH, FLORIDA By Laura Hearst

Margit Brandt

In Palm Beach’s Estate Section, refinement is measured not by excess but by ease: the sense that architecture, interiors, and landscape have been considered as a single, seamless experience. Newly offered at $55 million, 220 Jungle Road brings that ideal to life in a Spanish Mediterranean Revival residence of uncommon scale and grace. Designed locally by Smith & Moore and completed in 2022, the two-story home encompasses 8,405 square feet of living area and 8,688 square feet in total, set on 0.44 landscaped acres. Six bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, and two powder rooms provide generous accommodations, while the layout moves comfortably between intimate daily living and

grand-scale entertaining. But scale is only part of the story. A dedicated office creates a private setting for work, while a private gym, walk-in wine cellar, elevator, wet bar, and multiple laundry areas make the home exceptionally livable. Marble and wood floors, high ceilings, handsome built-ins, and a succession of beautifully proportioned rooms lend the interiors a composed, timeless quality. The upper-level primary suite offers an elevated retreat, and multiple en suite bedrooms give family and guests both privacy and comfort. A CONTEMPORARY WATERFRONT RETREAT ON LONG ISLAND’S GOLD COAST By Laura Hearst

8 Mill Pond Lane, Lattingtown

For Douglas Sabo, the most compelling properties are those that create an immediate sense of place. At 8 Mill Pond Lane in Lattingtown, that feeling begins along a long, tree-lined drive and unfolds across 9.5 waterfront acres overlooking Mill Neck Creek. The Long Island native and Nest Seekers International associate broker has built his career around sharing the beauty of the region with buyers and renters. After joining Nest Seekers in 2016, Sabo was named the 2017 Privet Hedges Rookie of the Year in Hamptons real estate by Avenues magazine. Today, his portfolio extends beyond the East End to distinctive properties such as this contemporary Gold Coast estate, currently offered at $4.725 million. Privately positioned at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, the

five-bedroom residence encompasses approximately 7,600 square feet. Originally constructed in 1987 as a builder’s own home, it has undergone extensive remodeling under its current ownership, combining bold contemporary architecture with a serene natural setting. A soaring, 25-foot great room forms the dramatic center of the house. Walls of glass capture the surrounding lawns, water and changing light, while a stone fireplace brings warmth and texture to the expansive interior. The chef ’s kitchen includes dual butler’s pantries and connects easily with both formal and informal living and dining areas. guest bedrooms, additional living areas and a library open onto wraparound balconies. A separate guest wing with its own butler’s pantry provides added privacy for visitors. Outside, the recently redesigned heated saltwater gunite pool and spa overlook the property’s rolling lawns and panoramic water views. Expansive entertaining areas, a dedicated pool bathroom and direct kayak access make the waterfront integral to daily life. The estate also includes a three-car garage with electric-vehicle charging. Located within the Locust Valley school district, the property is moments from yacht clubs, golf courses, private schools, beaches and Locust Valley village, with Long Island Rail Road service to Manhattan. For Sabo, 8 Mill Pond Lane represents an increasingly rare proposition: considerable acreage, unobstructed waterfront views, and true privacy, all within one of the North Shore’s most established communities. THE HAMPTONS EFFECT HOW RESORT LIVING IS REDEFINING MANHATTAN LUXURY By Kaiya Hilton

For generations, Manhattan and the Hamptons have played very different roles in the lives of New York’s wealthiest residents. The city offers energy, culture, and access, while the East End provides privacy, open space, outdoor living, and a more relaxed pace. Increasingly, however, affluent buyers no longer want to choose between those two experiences. The qualities that make life in the Hamptons so appealing—space, privacy, wellness, outdoor entertaining, and a connection to nature— are influencing what luxury buyers expect from their Manhattan residences throughout the year. In the city’s most competitive new developments, buyers are looking beyond finishes and views and paying closer attention to how a property actually supports the way they live. Malabar Residences, the newly completed condominium at 126 East 57th Street, where Billionaires’ Row meets Park Avenue, offers one example of that shift. Designed by internationally acclaimed architect Eran Chen of ODA and backed by billionaire Anand Mahindra alongside developers Rotem Rosen and Zahi Hagag, the 145-residence property takes a different approach from the conventional glass towers that have come to define much of Manhattan’s ultra-luxury skyline. Its cast-inplace concrete façade is interwoven with cascading terraces, creating a stronger relationship between the residences and the outdoors.

According to Eddie Shapiro, founder and CEO of Nest Seekers International, which is handling exclusive sales and marketing for Malabar, that broader lifestyle has become a major part of what distinguishes one luxury development from another. “The definition of luxury has evolved,” Shapiro says. “Buyers at this level already expect great architecture, finishes, and service. What sets a development apart now is whether it offers something they can’t easily find elsewhere. It’s not about adding amenities just to make the list longer. It’s about creating spaces people will actually use.” At Malabar, those spaces are spread throughout the property rather than concentrated in a single amenity floor. The wellness levels include a serene, double-height indoor swimming pool, oversize spa pool, steam room and sauna, a state-ofthe-art Technogym fitness center, and a half-court basketball and pickleball court. The building’s social spaces are equally central to the experience. The fourth-floor Oasis Garden and Lounge is organized around a secluded landscaped garden and an interior lounge with a chef ’s kitchen and separate prep kitchen. A children’s playroom opens directly onto the terrace. HOME dining, a central bar, and a media screen for open-air movie nights. At the top of Malabar, a rooftop retreat offers panoramic skyline views, alfresco dining, and grilling. “What makes Malabar different is the range of experiences within the building,” Shapiro says. “You can work out, swim, play basketball or pickleball, entertain outdoors, have dinner on the roof, or simply find a quiet place to get away from the city. It gives residents a lot of choice in how they use the property.” A porte cochere on 56th Street adds another element valued by ultra-high-net-worth residents: a more private and discreet arrival experience. That emphasis on choice extends to the residences themselves. Malabar contains more than 100 distinct layouts, giving buyers flexibility depending on their household and lifestyle needs. Select residences feature soaring double-height ceilings, while many homes offer private outdoor space. Tamir Shemesh of Nest Seekers International, who leads sales at Malabar and has represented more than 50 new-development projects over the course of his career, says buyers are responding to both the variety and scale. “Buyers are loving how much variety the property gives them,” Shemesh says. “You can have a completely private experience in your residence, and the vast majority of the homes also have private outdoor space, which is incredibly rare at this level in Manhattan. Then throughout the building, you have spaces for entertaining, wellness, recreation, and outdoor living.” For buyers accustomed to spending part of the year in the Hamptons, those qualities may feel familiar. Private terraces extend everyday living outdoors, landscaped spaces create moments of retreat, and recreation and entertaining can happen without leaving home. The proportions of select residences are also changing how buyers think about space. “They’re responding to the volume of many of the residences,” Shemesh says. “In some apartments, the ceiling heights completely change the way you perceive the space, so buyers are looking beyond traditional square footage and really appreciating the scale of the home.” Flexibility is another part of the appeal. With more than 100 layouts, buyers can choose residences for very different needs, including additional homes within the building for children, guests, or staff. “Malabar puts you directly on Billionaires’ Row, with Central Park, Fifth Avenue, Madison Avenue, and the best of the city within minutes,” Shemesh says. “What also makes the property unusual is the breadth of choices within the building. Buyers can find residences that work for very different needs, including families who want additional homes for children, guests, or staff.” The building recently received its Temporary Certificate of Occupancy, allowing prospective buyers to experience the completed property firsthand. Activity at the top of the building has also demonstrated demand at the uppermost end of the market. Two billionaire purchasers have SocialLifeMagazine.com

acquired marquee penthouses at approximately $5,000 per square foot. For luxury buyers, the larger takeaway is that some of the qualities associated with life in the Hamptons are becoming part of the year-round expectation. Outdoor space, privacy, wellness, recreation, and places to entertain are no longer confined to a second-home lifestyle. Increasingly, buyers want those experiences integrated into their primary residences as well. At Malabar, that influence can be seen throughout the building, from gardens and terraces to recreation, wellness, and rooftop entertaining, all within one of Manhattan’s most prominent luxury corridors. For today’s buyer, the line between city living and resort living is becoming less defined. The new standard is having access to the best of both worlds. BEFORE THEY WERE BROKERS JOHN HEALEY, HAMPTONS BON VIVANT By David Andrews

John Healey

Before becoming a top-producing Hamptons real estate agent, John “Hollywood” Healey lived a bon vivant life shaped by Paris, sailing, nature, and adventure. It’s obvious how John Healey got his nickname, Hollywood. Look up “bon vivant” in the dictionary, and you’ll find John’s face card. Long before Healey became a top-producer in Hamptons real estate, his life had already taken him from New York City to Paris—and considerably farther offshore. Raised in New York City with summers in Quogue, Healey understood the appeal of the East End early. He loved its freedom and proximity to nature, a sharp contrast to city life for someone who admits he had too much energy and needed more room to roam. While earning a business degree at Boston University, Healey was discovered as a model for Maggi Inc. and spent three years in Paris before returning to New York. His rugged, outdoorsman

appeal allowed him to easily establish a niche whenever he was on camera. Healey has the effortless cool and confidence that you either need to be a model, or you learn by being a model. While youth wanes, Healey’s ability to connect with and attract people has only grown with age. The fashion-world chapter tells only one side of his story. An avid bayman and outdoorsman, Healey has never been reluctant to get his hands dirty—he prefers waders over loafers any day. After an early Ditch Plains share house, Healey made a Pearson 10-meter sailboat his weekend home in Sag Harbor. He and his future wife lived aboard for six years, sharing the compact quarters with a dog and racing in Sag Harbor’s Wednesday night and weekend regattas. Life eventually moved to terra firma. After purchasing and renovating a Wainscott home in 1994, Healey bought a nearby cottage to resell, a project that led to his real estate license and, within six months, a new full-time career. Today, Healey’s home in Southampton is a perfect embodiment of his style and lifestyle. Most importantly, he has the room to roam and the water is all around. Those elements were nonnegotiable for the environment he needed to raise his sons. Healey’s big personality is matched by a serious commitment to his community. For more than three decades, he has served with the Bridgehampton Fire Department, taking on active leadership roles and becoming a vital local presence. Those larger-than-life experiences—cosmopolitan, adventurous, and deeply rooted in the East End—remain evident in his winning approach to real estate today..

BARBARA KAVOVIT’S HAMPTONS HAVEN By Kaiya Hilton Photography By Everett Brunman

Barbara Kavovit

Barbara Kavovit has spent her career building extraordinary spaces for New York City’s most recognizable companies. Yet of all the projects she has completed, none has been more deeply personal than the Hamptons home she envisioned, designed, and built for herself. As founder and CEO of Evergreen Construction, Barbara has made her mark in an industry where women remain underrepresented. An entrepreneur, television personality, investor, and author, she has never been afraid to take on a challenge or build something where nothing existed before. That same spirit is reflected throughout her Hamptons home. Fans of The Real Housewives of New York may remember the property as the setting for the lobster bake featured during Season 11, something that has become part of Barbara’s favorite Hamptons memories. But long before cameras arrived, the house was Barbara’s vision: She bought the land and built it from the ground up. Inspired by her favorite stretch of beach, Beach Lane in Wainscott, the home blends coastal elegance with a sophisticated, effortless feel. Natural light fills the rooms, while carefully chosen art and furnishings give the house a personality all its own. A Brian Farrell self-portrait anchors the living room, depicting Barbara with three distinct expressions: a fitting reflection of the many roles Barbara embraces as she navigates motherhood, careers, friendships, family, and life.

The home has also become part of Barbara’s creative story. It served as the setting for photographs for her first two books, Room for Improvement and Invest in Your Nest. Her HarperCollins novel, Heels of Steel, drew inspiration from her entrepreneurial journey and follows a young woman determined to build a skyscraper in New York City. Now Barbara is once again building something new. She is developing a television project, including her newest concept, Get Screwed With Barbara K, while pursuing additional television opportunities. She is also working on a Real Housewives– inspired murder mystery based on her Season 11 cast-trip experiences, currently being presented to publishers through her literary agent. And in the Hamptons, where the best stories often begin around a dinner table, Barbara’s home is the perfect setting for whatever comes next. Whether it’s a lobster bake, a summer barbecue, cocktails at sunset, or an intimate dinner with friends, Barbara believes the art of entertaining is simple: Make people feel at home. After a career spent building for others, Barbara has created a place that is unmistakably her own. Every room tells a story. Every gathering creates a memory. And every summer, another chapter unfolds, proof that Barbara Kavovit is still building, and she’s just getting started. Follow Barbara on Instagram for all the latest @msbarbarak. Social Life

WHEN ART BECOMES FAMILY

Friends, collectors, artists, and supporters gather at Oscar Molina’s studio

J. Oscar Molina, MAGO, Bonnie Druker at J. Oscar Molina’s studio

There are moments in the Hamptons art world when an exhibition becomes more than an exhibition and a gathering becomes more than an event. This summer, I experienced two such moments—celebrations that reminded me why I believe so deeply in the power of art to bring people together. Simply put, these were moments when art becomes family. The first was the fourth anniversary celebration of Stella Flame Gallery, featuring acclaimed watercolor artist Lucy Cookson. Her luminous works, inspired by the intricate details of the natural world, created an intimate and memorable evening surrounded by collectors, artists, friends, and supporters who have helped shape the gallery’s story. Then came one of the summer’s most heartfelt gatherings: a barbecue at Oscar Molina’s studio. Friends, collectors, and longtime supporters gathered not simply to celebrate an artist but also his journey. Following Oscar’s historic exhibition representing El Salvador in Venice, the studio gathering felt especially meaningful—

a chance to share food, laughter, conversation, and friendship away from the formality of the art world. For me, that is where the true magic of art exists. It is not always beneath gallery lights or at a major opening. Sometimes it is around a barbecue, in an artist’s studio, surrounded by people who believed in an artist long before the world discovered him. It is in the collectors who become friends, the artists who become family, and the memories created along the way. And the season is not quite over. I am especially looking forward to the Julie Keyes Gallery presentation of Molina’s sculpture The Herd at the Hampton Classic—another chapter in a remarkable summer connecting art, community, friendship, and celebration. The greatest privilege of working in art is not simply discovering extraordinary artists or presenting important work. It is witnessing the relationships that form along the way. Because when art becomes family, the celebration never really ends. Social Life

= OUT OF LINE = DON HERSHMAN’S NEW EXHIBITION TO DEBUT THIS FALL AT ONE ART SPACE, TRIBECA By Helena Harlow

Don Hershman, Out of Line #4, 2026 (Photo credit: Luz Martina Ruiz)

San Francisco-based artist Don Hershman presents = OUT OF LINE =, a solo exhibition opening Thursday, October 1, 2026, at One Art Space in Tribeca. Drawing from four distinct bodies of work—The Art of Code Switching (2023), I Am a Barn (2024), Urban Abstraction (2025), and Still/Still (2025)—the show traces the evolution of line as structure, emotion, and identity. Across barns, city surfaces, still lifes, and portraiture, Hershman builds color, rhythm, atmosphere, and emotional resonance through repeated and overlapping marks. Hershman lives a dual life as a nationally recognized podiatric surgeon and painter. The same qualities that define his medical practice—innovation, structural focus, and meticulous attention to detail—shape his art. Working from photographs, he transforms initial drawings through successive layers of line and color, creating compositions that hover between representation and abstraction. His paintings balance precision with spontaneity, form with memory, and structure with feeling. Born and educated in Brooklyn and Queens, Hershman credits early museum visits through New York City’s public schools and his parents’ encouragement for his lifelong commitment to art. Encounters with Matisse, Picasso, and Klimt left lasting impressions. He maintained a drawing practice throughout his medical career before dedicating himself more SocialLifeMagazine.com

fully to painting in the early 1990s. Since his first San Francisco exhibition in 1992, his work has evolved steadily and has been shown nationally and internationally, including at the de Young Open. His paintings reside in private collections across the United States and abroad. The exhibition begins with structure. In I Am a Barn (2024), weathered planks, beams, and architectural surfaces of rural barns became meditations on resilience, shelter, and memory while establishing the repeated linear marks central to his practice. Urban Abstraction (2025) shifted that language into the city, treating cropped fragments of walls, garage doors, pavement, and graffiti as studies in rhythm, tension, and layered surface. Still/Still (2025) turned to everyday objects, using line and color to create quieter, more contemplative compositions. The Art of Code Switching (2023) applies the same vocabulary to portraiture, exploring identity, visibility, and perception through the human figure. Taken together, = OUT OF LINE = is less a retrospective than a clear demonstration of artistic continuity. It is the story of an artist who has refined a single formal element into a flexible, expressive language capable of carrying architecture, environment, memory, and human experience. u

R AC H E L’ S R A DA R PETER MARINO ART FOUNDATION By Rachel Heller

Writer, actress, host, and art adviser Rachel Heller is a sponsorship and brand relations manager at Talent Resources @rachelhellerxo | @talentresources | talentresources.com

Tucked into the heart of Southampton, the Peter Marino Art Foundation is far more than a traditional gallery. It is an immersive experience where architecture, art, history, and design come together in spectacular fashion. Housed in the beautifully restored former Rogers Memorial Library on Jobs Lane, the foundation reflects the distinctive vision of architect and collector Peter Marino. Behind its historic façade is a dramatic contemporary interior filled with unexpected textures, rich materials, and extraordinary works from Marino’s personal collection. I remember this building for years in high school: It was a library that to me looked haunted, and I never wanted to go in. Across more than 8,000 square feet of exhibition space, visitors encounter an eclectic and sophisticated mix of ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Roman antiquities alongside Old Masters, modern and contemporary art, photography,

sculpture, furniture, ceramics, and rare books. The result is wonderfully unpredictable: Each room reveals a new dialogue between centuries, cultures, and artistic disciplines. What makes the foundation especially compelling is the intimacy of the experience. Rather than feeling like a vast institutional museum, it feels like stepping inside the extraordinary world of a passionate collector, one with an unmistakable eye for craftsmanship, history, and beauty. For art lovers spending the summer in the Hamptons, the Peter Marino Art Foundation is an essential stop. Its combination of historic architecture, bold interiors, and remarkable works creates an atmosphere that is both elegant and exhilarating. It is a place where the unexpected is part of the experience, and where even a quick visit can leave you inspired, curious, and eager to return. Social Life

FORTY LOVE A HAMPTONS MORNING OF BOOKS, TENNIS, AND SUMMER STYLE By Winter Fairchild

There are few things more quintessentially Hamptons than a summer morning spent around a tennis court, particularly when the game comes with books, skin care, and a little shopping on the side. In Bridgehampton, author and literary powerhouse Zibby Owens hosted an intimate tennis party to toast Jane Costello’s novel Forty Love, bringing together friends and guests for a spirited morning inspired by the book. Set at a private Bridgehampton home, the gathering took its cues from Costello’s tennis-centered novel. The setting was awash in court-green grass, crisp white, and flashes of pink, with Forty Love displayed in its unmistakable bright yellow and green cover. Clever tennis-inspired touches gave the gathering a playful sense of place without losing the ease of a summer morning at home. SocialLifeMagazine.com

Some guests took to the court, while others settled into conversation or browsed the shopping displays. Finley’s Fiction, Hedge, Love All Tennis, Zibby Media, and Dr. JoAn Monaco each contributed to the morning, sharing their own corner of fashion, books, beauty, and tennis culture. At the center of the gathering was Costello’s Forty Love, a witty novel about friendship, reinvention, and the unexpected turns that arrive when life refuses to follow the trajectory one imagined. Owens, whose Zibby Media has become a force in contemporary publishing and literary culture, reimagined the traditional book event as an intimate summer house gathering. For Forty Love, it was a fitting way to celebrate a story unique story about what comes next.

FROM MONTAUK TO MANHATTAN, A LOVE STORY By Kaiya Hilton Photography By Megan Gulino of Moonshine Studio of Photography

Courtney Daniels and James Katsipis

FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHER JAMES KATSIPIS AND PUBLICIST COURTNEY DANIELS BRING THEIR CLOSEST FRIENDS AND FAMILY TOGETHER FOR AN INTIMATE, ELEGANT WEDDING ROOTED IN THE PLACES AND PEOPLE THEY LOVE For Courtney Daniels @coco_daniels and James Katsipis @letstaukgrams, home has never been defined by a single place. It is Montauk, where James was born and raised and where the couple first met. It is Manhattan, where Courtney has spent more than two decades building her career. And it is Orchard Park, New York, Courtney’s hometown, where they exchanged vows surrounded by 85 close family members and friends. The couple met through mutual friends at the “End of the World” in Montauk just before the onset of the Covid pandemic. As the world unexpectedly slowed, their relationship accelerated. What might have been an uncertain beginning became an opportunity to build a life together during a period unlike any other. Creativity and art have long been a common thread in their lives. Courtney, also known as Coco, is the founder and CEO of Courtney Daniels Consulting @courtneydanielsconsulting, a New York–based marketing and public relations firm working with luxury brands, CEOs, personalities, and artists. James is a fine art photographer whose images of the ocean have become synonymous with Montauk, his lifelong home.

Their wedding reflected the life they have built together: rooted in family, creativity, and the places that have shaped them. The weekend began with a welcome party at Mangia Ristorante, one of Courtney’s family’s favorite hometown spots. Guests stayed at the Curtiss Hotel in Buffalo before traveling to Orchard Park Country Club for the wedding. The ceremony took place on the club’s 18th hole, transforming a familiar part of Courtney’s childhood into the setting for one of the most meaningful moments of their lives. The location also nodded to James’s lifelong love of golf and the years he has spent playing at Montauk Downs. It brought together their histories in a way that felt both elegant and deeply personal. With just 85 guests, the wedding remained intimate. The celebration began with champagne and a raw bar before moving into dinner, live music, and dancing. Courtney designed the décor herself, creating a romantic atmosphere with candelabras, hundreds of white roses, and candlelight throughout the space. Wedding planner Brittany Fuez of Every Detail Counts oversaw and produced the weekend, bringing Courtney’s vision together throughout the celebration. The Heartstrings performed live cello and violin arrangements for the ceremony, while the eight-piece band The Uptown Groove took over for the reception. Courtney and James shared their first dance to Rod Stewart’s “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You.” One of the night’s most personal moments came as Courtney’s mother, Rosemary, a professionally trained opera singer, performed Social Life

After the wedding, the couple escaped to Nantucket for a minimoon before traveling to Europe for their full honeymoon this fall. From meeting through friends in Montauk to beginning their life together during an unprecedented moment, Courtney and James have built a relationship defined by instinct, creativity, loyalty, and a shared appreciation for the people and places that matter most. ALAN HAMEL ON LOVE, LEGACY, AND KEEPING SUZANNE SOMERS’S VISION ALIVE By Jeremy Murphy

Nearly three years after his wife, Suzanne Somers, passed, Alan Hamel is doing exactly what she asked him to do. The actress, author, and entrepreneur gave her husband one simple instruction: Don’t spend the rest of your life grieving. “Don’t mope around,” she told him. “I want you to live your life, and I hope you find love again.” Today, at 90, Hamel says those words continue to guide him. While he still oversees the business empire he and Somers built together, he has also embraced a new chapter that includes love, family, and an unwavering commitment to preserving her legacy. REINVENTING SUCCESS Long before personal branding became a business buzzword, Hamel and Somers were already doing it. Their turning point

came in 1980 after Somers was fired from the hit sitcom Three’s Company, a decision that many assumed would end her career. Instead, Hamel saw an opportunity. “We started our business when nobody even knew what branding was. I just knew we had to find another way to create revenue because Suzanne had been labeled as trouble.” Looking back, Hamel believes the dismissal ultimately became the catalyst for one of entertainment’s greatest reinventions. Somers became Las Vegas Female Entertainer of the Year and spent a decade headlining two shows a night, seven nights a week. Her publishing career flourished, with 27 books, most becoming New York Times best sellers. She later returned to television for seven seasons on Step by Step alongside Patrick Duffy before hosting Candid Camera. “It all happened because she was fired,” Hamel says. Social Life

PROFILES FINDING JOY AGAIN After more than five decades together, Hamel admits living alone felt unimaginable after Somers died. “I’d never really lived alone,” he says. “I thought I’d simply have to get used to it.” Instead, an unexpected introduction from his son Stephen changed everything. Stephen met actress Joanna Cassidy during awards season and immediately thought she and his father might connect. The couple maintains what he laughingly describes as “living together lite.” Hamel lives primarily in the California desert while Cassidy remains based in Los Angeles, where she continues an active film career. “We’re very good together,” he says. THE SIMPLE PLEASURES Hamel and Cassidy recently celebrated his birthday in Las Vegas, where they discovered a new Indian restaurant connected to London’s acclaimed Gymkhana. The meal impressed him so much they returned the following evening. But while the couple enjoys glamorous Hollywood outings, Hamel says their happiest moments are remarkably ordinary. The pair enjoys shopping together at Whole Foods before cooking dinner at home, road-tripping through American Southwest national parks, and spending quiet evenings together. Cassidy is an avid reader and recently read two of Somers’s books while visiting Hamel’s home. “We don’t always have to be out doing something,” he says.

A PHILOSOPHY OF HEALTH At 90, Hamel credits much of his energy to a lifestyle he and Somers embraced decades ago. For roughly 24 years, he has eaten almost exclusively organic food, a commitment inspired by his late wife’s extensive research into health, nutrition, and disease prevention. “I asked Suzanne one day to summarize everything she’d learned into one sentence,” he recalls. “Without hesitation she said, ‘It’s all about the food.’” BUILDING A LASTING LEGACY Although Somers died in 2023 after a decades-long battle with breast cancer, Hamel remains fully immersed in the business they spent years creating. At SuzanneSomers.com, he continues overseeing the wellness, beauty, and lifestyle brand they launched during the earliest days of the internet. Recognizing the company needed fresh energy, Hamel SocialLifeMagazine.com

recently hired a new president and assembled a leadership team largely made up of women in their 30s. “They’re brilliant,” he says. “Sometimes I joke they speak a different language because everything today is digital.” He also continues protecting one of their most recognizable products, the ThighMaster, which has sold well over 10 million units worldwide and generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. Hamel says a redesigned version is currently in development, though he is keeping details confidential because of widespread knockoffs. Despite decades of entrepreneurial success, Hamel says the greatest reward is one close to his heart. “I want the name Suzanne Somers to live on forever.” As he enters his 10th decade, Hamel continues doing exactly what she hoped he would: helping people live healthier, happier lives, a vision Somers dedicated herself to every day. u

TMPO THE APP THAT MAKES GETTING A JOB AS FAST AS FINDING A DATE By Jeremy Murphy

For anyone who has ever applied to a job and felt like their résumé disappeared into a black hole, David Borokhovich, Aleksandr Sinyuts, and Dennis Noble have a simple diagnosis: Hiring in the gig economy is broken—not just for job seekers, not just for employers, but for everyone. That frustration inspired Tmpo, a new job-listing and hiring app that Borokhovich describes as “Tinder for jobs.” As candidates swipe through opportunities, employers swipe through applicants, and both sides are pushed toward a match. But Borokhovich says Tmpo is not built around swiping as a gimmick. It is built around speed, verification, and removing the waste that has come to define modern hiring. “People already make important decisions on their phones in seconds,” he notes.

A DATING APP FOR JOBS Tmpo’s website leans into dating-app language with the tagline “Swipe, Match, Interview,” and promises “no more red flags, no more ghosting,” with verified users, automated interview questions, and in-app messaging and interview scheduling designed to keep both sides moving. The company also tells it like it is, with a slogan plastered on New York streets that is already turning heads: “GET A F**KING JOB.” That attitude is deliberate. Tmpo is not trying to be another corporate recruiting portal. “Tmpo isn’t designed for corporate America,” Borokhovich says. “It’s for the small-business owners and high turnover jobs that create the backbone of America.” Social Life

PROFILES WHAT HIRING GETS WRONG In Borokhovich’s view, the gig economy and hourly labor markets have been stuck with tools that were never really designed for them. Some businesses post jobs and drown in unqualified applications. Some applicants spend hours applying and never receive an answer. “The biggest problem is that it’s incredibly one-sided,” he points out. “Everyone ends up wasting time.” Tmpo’s answer is to collapse the process. Candidates and employers can match, message, prescreen, and interview directly inside the app. The platform includes real-time notifications and verifies businesses, a feature Borokhovich says is just as important as screening workers: “We don’t want applicants to apply to BS jobs.” NO MORE GHOST JOBS That concern has become increasingly familiar to job seekers. LinkedIn, once a professional networking tool, has been criticized for becoming cluttered with questionable listings. Job boards can boast huge numbers of openings, but few actually lead to an interview, much less a response. Tmpo is trying to solve these problems with a closed-loop hiring experience. Employers are not just posting into the void. Applicants are not just applying in silence. The app is designed to confirm that both parties are real, interested, and ready to move forward. That may sound basic, but in an economy where workers increasingly question whether online job postings are even legitimate, basic accountability can feel like innovation.

STARTING WITH HOSPITALITY Tmpo is starting where the need is immediate: the hospitality sector. Borokhovich says the company is building its employer network block by block, with an emphasis on restaurants, bars, and other businesses where staffing needs can change daily. The company has partnered with Richie Romero and his hospitality network, as well as Nexwrk, and Borokhovich credits Tmpo’s chief marketing officer and co-founder, Aleksandr Sinyuts, with building a go-to-market strategy centered on local credibility first. The app’s early customer testimonials, listed on Tmpo’s site, include restaurants such as Peck Slip Social, Smartwich, Sushi by Bou, Cobble Fish, and Pil Pil, with businesses praising the app for helping them find staff quickly and even interview applicants the same day. BUILT FOR HIGH-TURNOVER BUSINESSES That churn of finding people, keeping them, and replacing them when they leave is brutal. Borokhovich says some franchise operators Tmpo has spoken with face annual turnover around 130%, making hiring a constant operational crisis. SocialLifeMagazine.com

David Borokhovich

Tmpo’s business model is designed to lower the friction; applicants will never be charged. For businesses, the company is offering premium access free for the next 18 months to those that sign up now, accommodating their target audience. AI THAT WANTS TO GIVE PEOPLE JOBS Using AI is another part of Tmpo’s pitch. At a time when artificial intelligence is often framed as a threat to employment, Borokhovich sees Tmpo as the opposite. “We hear all the time that AI is trying to take jobs,” he says. “I think we’re the first recruitment platform whose AI helps people get jobs.” Tmpo’s branding tells it like it is, and the mission is practical: Serving the next generation of people who do not want to network for six months, rewrite a cover letter, or wait for an automated rejection. They just want to get a job. u

MARTHA COHEN STINE GUIDING FAMILIES FORWARD By Jeremy Murphy her an AV Preeminent 5.0 rating from Martindale Hubbell, recognition as one of Super Lawyers New York Metro’s Top 50 Women and Top 100 Attorneys, and leadership positions with some of New York’s most respected legal organizations. Yet for Stine, the greatest reward has never been the accolades. “Knowing that I have helped someone protect their children, preserve what they have built, and begin their next chapter continues to make this work both challenging and rewarding,” she says.

For more than three decades, family law attorney Martha Cohen Stine has guided clients through some of the most emotionally challenging chapters of their lives. As a founding partner of Manhattan boutique matrimonial firm Cohen Stine Kapoor LLP, she has earned a reputation for combining sharp legal strategy with compassion, helping families navigate divorce, custody disputes, prenuptial agreements, and complex financial matters with clarity and confidence. Her distinguished career has earned Martha Cohen Stine

“Preparation creates confidence. Confidence inspires credibility. Those qualities are essential whether I’m in front of a microphone on stage or presenting a case to a judge.”

FINDING HER CALLING Stine did not begin her legal career with family law in mind. She started as a litigator at the prestigious Manhattan firm Shea & Gould, where she received rigorous training from some of the city’s finest trial attorneys. Yet, when working alongside legendary trial lawyer Milton Gould on a family matter involving an heiress with dementia and a new husband, Stine found herself fascinated by the combination of legal analysis, psychology, and deeply personal relationships. “I discovered that I liked working with clients experiencing a family crisis and that I was good at finding solutions,” she recalls. That experience led her to family law, where she has remained ever since.

PROFILES productive representation requires objective strategy. “My role is not to tell clients what they want to hear,” she explains. “Instead, I explain both what New York law provides and how I believe a judge would decide the case if we were in court.” Years of litigation have taught her to anticipate problems before they arise and think several moves ahead, which has also made her an effective negotiator. “One of the best ways to achieve settlement is to be fully prepared for and not fearful of trial,” she says. “Opposing counsel quickly recognizes when a lawyer is willing to litigate a case to conclusion.” AGREEMENTS THAT WORK BEYOND THE COURTROOM Whether she’s drafting a prenuptial agreement or a parenting schedule, Stine ensures that legal documents work in everyday life, not just on paper. Prenuptial agreements, she finds, are becoming increasingly common. “They are completely socially acceptable, particularly among younger professionals,” she says, noting that every agreement should reflect the unique circumstances of the couple. For example, a hypothetical prenuptial agreement between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce might protect separate property, future earnings, and business interests, while leaving open the option of acquiring jointly titled marital assets.

A NEW BOUTIQUE FIRM During the pandemic, Stine joined colleagues Harriet Cohen and Ankit Kapoor in launching Cohen Stine Kapoor LLP, creating the firm they saw that clients increasingly needed. “Our vision was to create a boutique firm where every client receives intensive personalized attention,” she says. Rather than operating virtually, the attorneys collaborate daily in their Manhattan offices, allowing every client to benefit from the collective experience of the firm’s lawyers. BEYOND THE COURTROOM Away from legal briefs and courtrooms, Stine is equally passionate about music. A trained singer, she performs with the acclaimed Blue Hill Troupe, whose productions raise money for charity, and has appeared with Utopia Opera and Village Light Opera Group. She also produces, directs, and performs original musical comedies featuring lawyers and judges. She believes the performing arts have made her a stronger advocate. “Preparation creates confidence. Confidence inspires credibility,” she says. “Those qualities are essential whether I’m in front of a microphone on stage or presenting a case to a judge.” Her commitment to the profession extends beyond her own practice. She serves on the board of directors of the New York County Lawyers Association, where she chaired the Matrimonial Law Section for many years. She is also a member SocialLifeMagazine.com

Harriet Newman Cohen, Martha Cohen Stine, Ankit Kapoor, and Nicole Margulis

of the executive committee of the New York State Bar Association’s Family Law Section and a frequent participant in CLE programs, where she enjoys mentoring less-experienced attorneys. DEFINING SUCCESS Despite an accomplished career, Stine measures success in deeply personal moments. “When a client brings me a gift every year on the anniversary of her divorce and thanks me for her new chapter, that feels like success,” she says. But the joy she finds in her family surpasses all. “When I come home to a husband who is the love of my life and when my adult children are happy, productive, and want to spend the weekend with me, that may be the greatest success of all.” For an attorney who has spent decades helping families rebuild, it is a fitting definition of a life devoted not only to the law, but to the people it serves. u

BARRY KAMINS THE TEACHER, THE JUDGE, AND THE ADVOCATE By Jeremy Murphy A CAREER ROOTED IN CRIMINAL LAW Kamins was admitted to the New York bar in 1969 after earning his undergraduate degree from Columbia College and his law degree from Rutgers University School of Law. From 1969 to 1973, he served as an assistant district attorney in Kings County, rising to deputy chief of the Criminal Court Bureau. He later became a partner at Flamhaft Levy Kamins Hirsch & Rendeiro LLP before moving to the bench. In 2008, Kamins was appointed to the New York City Criminal Court. He later served as an acting Supreme Court justice and then as a state Supreme Court justice. Kamins admits that stepping away from the bench was challenging and required a shift in perspective. As a judge, his role was to determine the precise legal answer, while as an advocate he pushes the envelope and stretches the law for the benefit of the client.

Judge Kamins, Marianne Bertuna, and Arthur Aidala

The Honorable Barry Kamins occupies an integral role as named partner at Aidala, Bertuna & Kamins, P.C. After decades as a prosecutor, defense attorney, judge, educator, and author, he brings a rare depth of experience in criminal law, appellate advocacy, and professional ethics to the firm. Kamins expertly handles attorney disciplinary matters, including cases involving license issues, suspension, or disbarment. He also works on complex criminal appeals and serves as a resource for attorneys confronting difficult questions of law and strategy.

SECOND CHANCES AND DUE PROCESS One of his most meaningful cases involved Martin Tankleff, who served 17 years for murder before his conviction was vacated. Tankleff went on to graduate from law school, with Kamins representing him in his bar admission application. “Everybody’s entitled to a second chance,” Kamins says. At Aidala, Bertuna & Kamins, he continues to work with the same purpose that has guided him for more than five decades: protecting due process, mentoring lawyers, and helping people reclaim their futures. u

SCHOLAR, TEACHER, AND MENTOR His passion for criminal law began early, influenced by an extraordinary law school professor: Ruth Bader Ginsburg, then in her first teaching job. “Because of the way she taught, she inspired me,” Kamins says. Kamins has followed in her footsteps. He not only teaches as an adjunct professor at Brooklyn Law School, but also writes the Criminal Law and Practice column for the New York Law Journal, and authors New York Search and Seizure, a leading text updated annually for over 35 years. “It’s about all the cases from the New York courts dealing with the Fourth Amendment,” he says.

A VANDERBILT RETURNS TO GRAND CENTRAL THIS TIME WITH A RUNWAY By Sarah Delay

Consuelo Vanderbilt-Costin

Dustin Glickman

More than a century after the Vanderbilt family helped shape Grand Central Terminal, Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin is bringing the family name back with a contemporary purpose: fashion. On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, during New York Fashion Week, Vanderbilt Costin will present an international fashion show in Vanderbilt Hall. The event marks the first fashion presentation from House of Vanderbilt and the NYFW debut of Vanderbilt & Seewald Global Studio, the investment, media, and technology venture she founded with Michaela Seewald. It is also the first time a Vanderbilt has hosted a runway inside the terminal her ancestors built. House of Vanderbilt is a modern family office and global platform dedicated to legacy preservation, philanthropic impact, and connecting heritage with innovation. The evening celebrates American innovation, fashion, heritage, and technology as the nation marks its 250th anniversary. Latin fashion takes center stage, hosted by Mario Lopez and led by Mexican designer Lorena Saravia, whose work blends Mexican craftsmanship with modern luxury. She is joined SocialLifeMagazine.com

by Stockholm-based Dustin Glickman of DSTN and Paris couturier Nabil Hayari. The presentation reflects Vanderbilt & Seewald’s mission to give international designers greater access to the U.S. market while preserving their ownership and creative control. The runway will feature AI-enabled commerce, livestream shopping, and “Click-To-Buy” integration, powered in part by SohoMuse. “America’s 250th anniversary gives us an extraordinary opportunity to celebrate where the country has been while looking toward what comes next,” said Vanderbilt Costin. “Bringing fashion to Grand Central is deeply personal. This evening is about using that history as a platform for new voices, new ideas, and new opportunities.” Rather than treating heritage as nostalgia, the event positions the Vanderbilt name as a stage for the designers, cultures, and technologies shaping fashion’s future. u

HEINZ HOLBA THE MODELING CEO WHO BUILT TWO COAST-TO-COAST FASHION POWERHOUSES NEW YORK MODEL MANAGEMENT AND L.A. MODELS By Jeremy Murphy

For more than four decades, Heinz Holba has helped shape the modern modeling industry from both U.S. coasts. As founder of New York Model Management and L.A. Models, the Austrian-born entrepreneur has built two of fashion’s most respected agencies while navigating dramatic changes in media, technology, and culture. This year, New York Model Management celebrates its 30th anniversary, a milestone that reflects not only longevity but an ability to evolve in one of the world’s most competitive businesses. Holba credits preparation and consistency for that success. “Anything can happen. We’re always prepared to advise and deal with our clients as necessary and, above all, service the models because they depend on us,” he says. JOURNEY INTO FASHION Holba’s path into model management evolved organically. Born in Austria, he eventually moved to Canada, where,

in 1978 he purchased the Canadian agency Booking One, followed a year later by the Elite/John Casablancas Modeling Schools and Agencies Canadian franchises. He eventually expanded to 10 agencies and schools throughout Canada and California before selling them to launch L.A. Models in 1985. A decade later, he established New York Model Management, giving him premier agencies on both coasts. Today, Holba continues dividing his time between Los Angeles and New York. “I’ll spend a little more time in L.A. because I have two daughters that live close by,” he says. EVOLVING WITH THE INDUSTRY The modeling industry has transformed dramatically since Holba first entered it. Editorial magazines no longer dictate careers the way they once did, while social media, global campaigns, and digital marketing have created entirely new opportunities. Social Life

PROFILES Still, Holba believes fashion’s appeal remains unchanged. “People are still buying fashion, and they’re fascinated by fashion news. That’s still there,” he says. “But it’s a global business now.” Campaigns reach worldwide audiences through social media instead of individual countries, requiring agencies to think universally while helping clients navigate an increasingly connected marketplace. RELATIONSHIPS MAKE THE DIFFERENCE Despite rapid technological change, Holba believes the agency business remains rooted in trust. “Our clients rely on our expertise and foresight,” he says. “They look to us for help in bringing their vision to life to meet their particular goals for that production.’” While he acknowledges that the industry’s leading agencies all deliver high-quality representation, Holba says that “personal service and long-term relationships separate the best from the rest.” International partnerships are equally important. Agencies around the world send promising talent to New York and Los Angeles, creating opportunities that benefit models and clients alike. LOOKING BEYOND THE LOOK When Holba and his team evaluate new talent, personality carries just as much weight as appearance. His agencies focus on building careers rather than chasing quick success, helping models develop professionally over time. “We’re looking at how the personality is going to evolve,” he says. “A personality that connects with people.” Many aspiring models begin their careers at 16 or 17, making confidence and communication skills just as important as photogenic looks. “They need practice dealing with clients, photographers, casting directors, and so on while learning to be comfortable in their own skin,” Holba says. “That’s a big part of what makes a successful model.” FASHION’S BROADER PERSPECTIVE Holba believes fashion has become significantly more inclusive than when he entered the industry decades ago. “People have more of an open mind, and as a result, diversity has become the norm,” he says. Greater international collaboration has broadened standards of beauty while creating opportunities for talent from diverse backgrounds. At the same time, increased oversight has strengthened professional standards. “Protecting young talent remains one of our agency’s most important responsibilities and one that we take very seriously.” AI CAN’T REPLACE EMOTION Artificial intelligence has sparked debate throughout fashion, but Holba believes human connection remains impossible to duplicate. “The use case for AI is still evolving in our industry; however, clients and their customers can tell when SocialLifeMagazine.com

Heinz Holba

something feels inauthentic,” he says. While AI offers valuable tools for research and data analysis, Holba says something essential is still lacking. “What’s missing are the natural and familiar human attributes—authenticity, personality, and genuine interaction will always remain qualities technology cannot fully re-create.” LOOKING AHEAD WHILE CELEBRATING HIS 30TH ANNIVERSARY As New York Model Management celebrates 30 years, Holba remains optimistic about fashion’s future. He sees social media expanding opportunities while bringing cultures closer together, but he also believes young professionals must balance technology with real-world communication. “They have to learn how to interact in person,” he says. “Eye contact is important.” Fashion has continuously reinvented itself throughout history, and Holba expects that evolution to continue. What won’t change, he believes, is the importance of trust, relationships, and personal service. Those values have helped build two internationally respected agencies and have allowed Heinz Holba to remain one of modeling’s most enduring and influential leaders as the industry enters its next chapter. u
