WAYNE CO. - The Wayne County Commission moved through a short agenda during its May 4 meeting. Commissioners approved letters of support for Lyman Town and Loa Town as both communities pursue funding for master recreation plans. The commission also approved a letter supporting Thousand Lakes Lumber’s application for the Wood Products Infrastructure Assistance Program. Commissioners said the grant support could help strengthen the local timber industry and reduce wildfire risk. “The timber industry, it needs all the help it can get to get revitalized,” Commissioner Blackburn said.
