The Garfield County Commission gathered on Feb. 23, with Commissioner Taylor excused while attending the legislative conference in Washington, D.C., where he is chairing the National Public Lands Committee. After approving the agenda and minutes from the Feb. 9 meeting, commissioners shared board reports dominated by water concerns in the Tropic area. Commissioner Tebbs said he attended a meeting with the state water engineer where residents asked questions and voiced frustration about storage and releases tied to Otter Creek and Tropic Reservoir. 5 New Conservation Projects to Benefit Native Trout in Utah in '26
SALT LAKE CITY Five new conservation projects geared toward helping Utah’s native cutthroat trout were recently selected for this year, funded by the popular fishing challenge, the Utah Cutthroat Slam. The projects were selected by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and Utah Trout Unlimited—the organizations that started the Utah Cutthroat Slam.
