NPS Seeks Public Input on Improving Connectivity in Capitol Reef N.P. TORREY - Capitol Reef National Park is seeking input on opportunities to expand recreational access and connectivity and to modernize facilities and infrastructure within the park. The National Park Service wants to hear your ideas and questions on preliminary strategies that enhance recreational opportunities, alleviate parking and roadway congestion, and preserve the resources of Capitol Reef National Park. Examples of potential strategies include new trails between historic sites and popular trailheads and improved visitor services and parking in these areas. The Fall 2025 Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program cohort. Funded by the Goldman Sachs Foundation, the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program is now open to rural, small business owners across Utah and is accepting applications for its 2026 fall cohort before the May 20, 2026, deadline.

Mar. 2, 2026 WAYNE CO. - The Wayne County Commission met March 2, beginning right on time. The first item on the agenda came from Dax Mangus, the new regional supervisor for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, presenting the county’s annual PILT payment of $337 for approximately seven hundred acres, six homes and two fish hatcheries. Mangus said DWR looks forward to continuing to work with the county and highlighted ongoing wildlife habitat projects in the area. Ron and Tammy Perkins returned to follow up on the Fremont property line issue previously discussed. The Panguitch Library is now offering crochet lessons—led by Children’s Librarian Verlaine Spencer—which will be available on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. PANGUITCH - The Panguitch Library is now offering crochet lessons— led by Children’s Librarian Verlaine Spencer— which will be available on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. All skill levels and ages are welcome to attend. Beginners can join at 2 PM to learn essential crochet tips; they are asked to bring chunky yarn and a size L (8mm)

crochet hook. If students have more experience, they are asked to come at 3 PM with their project for guidance, allowing beginners to receive more focused attention. Residents of Torrey have tied ribbons around town in honor of the three victims of a triple homicide in Wayne County last week. WAYNE CO. - Early in the morning on Thursday, March 5, the Pagosa Springs, Colorado Police Department located and detained a suspect, later identified as 22-year-old Ivan Miller of Blakesburg, Iowa, of a triple homicide

in Wayne County. Two women—Linda Dewey, 65, and her niece, Natalie Graves, 34—were found deceased by their husbands, who then called 911, at approximately 4:30 p.m. at a trailhead off Highway 12 near Torrey
