Founded in the 17th century, the city has grown into a vibrant mix of Ottoman, Italian, and Socialist architecture. Walk through Skanderbeg Square, surrounded by the Et’hem Bey Mosque, the Clock Tower, and the Bunk`Art 2. Explore Blloku, once an exclusive enclave for communist officials, now a lively district filled with cafes, restaurants, and boutiques. After the city tour you will have some free time for shopping and personal exploration.
From the port, embark on a boat excursion to the Karaburun Peninsula, part of Albania’s only marine national park. The peninsula is a paradise of rugged cliffs, turquoise waters, and hidden sea caves. Visit the Haxhi Ali Cave, named after the legendary Albanian sailor and adventurer, and enjoy swimming in crystal-clear bays surrounded by untouched nature.
