Ship will depart Malta at 17:00hrs Wednesday 25 September Port - La Goulette (Tunis) Optional shore excursion to Carthage and Sidi Bou Said You will leave the port of La Goulette for the journey to Carthage accompanied by a local guide. Founded as a Phoenician trading port, Carthage rapidly grew to become one of the richest cities of the ancient world, until it was defeated and destroyed by the Romans in 146 BC. Your first stop will be the Tophet, the sanctuary dedicated to the Punic deities Tanit and Baal Hammon. Then you will travel by coach to Byrsa Hill, where you will be able to visit the Cathedral of Saint Louis (outside visit only) and admire the magnificent view over Carthage and the Gulf of Tunis. Your final stop will be the characteristic village of Sidi Bou Said, world famous for its typical blue and white houses where you will have some free time to stroll around, take a few unforgettable photographs or do a bit of shopping before returning to the ship. Please note: Guests wishing to take pictures in the archaeological site of Carthage will be charged a fee of 1,00 TND. An approximately 10-minute uphill walk is required to reach the village of Sidi

Once you disembark the ship, you are very close to the main centre where you can stroll around admiring many neoclassical buildings while enjoying an aperitivo in one of the many bars. Friday 27 September Port - Naples, Italy Optional shore excursion - Easy Tour of Naples The first stop of the tour is the village of Posillipo where we can enjoy a splendid view of the Gulf of Naples from a rooftop terrace. Then we proceed to the monumental area, where we can admire the major attractions of Naples, such as the impressiveMaschio Angioino, the castle built 700 years ago by Charles of Anjou and later a sumptuous residence of kings and viceroys, the San Carlo Theatre, one of the most beautiful in Europe, and Galleria Umberto I shopping gallery, built between 1887 and 1890 to redevelop the city. Cross Piazza del Plebiscito, one of the most beautiful and famous squares in Naples. With its 25,000 square metres it is among the largest squares in Italy and so is often chosen to host major events. Arriving in Piazza Matteotti, take a stroll up to Piazza del Gesù, from where you can head to the world-famous Via Spaccanapoli, the throbbing heart of authentic working-class Naples, the lower decumanus that today divides the heart of Naples.
