October 21, 2026 ~ Chamber eBlast
Hello Smithville Chamber Members and Friends,
What a week it was in Smithville! From the October Chamber Mixer hosted by Panama Rose, Main Street Gifts & More, and Mosaic Art & Home, and then a full Saturday with Keep Smithville Beautiful’s Sustainable Home and Garden Show and El Camino Real Day, there was something happening all over town. A big thank you to our hosts, volunteers, vendors, and everyone who took part in the Fall Super Sweep and helped keep Smithville looking its best. And we’re not slowing down! The rest of October and the start of November are packed, and we hope you’ll join in. Coming up with the Chamber: October Quarterly Chamber Luncheon on Wednesday, October 28, featuring guest speaker Smithville City Manager Trey Job. Reserve your seat today! Meet Me at the Depot on Saturday, November 7, from 9:00am to noon. It’s the final morning of our fall series, so come enjoy porch stories,
classic cars, live music, trolley rides and good company at the MKT Depot & Railroad Park. Around the community: Saturday, October 24 is a busy one, with the Household Hazardous Waste Event, Drug Take Back Event, and the Spooks & Scandals Walking Tour that evening. Halloween weekend brings the Heroes & Horseshoes Wild West Masquerade on October 30 and FBC Smithville’s Canopy or Treats on October 31. Smithville High School’s Salute Celebration on November 11th. The Smithville Airing of the Quilts returns November 13-14 in a new location, the Smithville Recreation Center. Join in honoring our veterans at the Red, White & Blue Veterans of Bastrop County Annual Veterans Appreciation Banquet on November 14. And if you haven’t picked up the 2026 78957 Magazine yet, read it online at www.SmithvilleTx.org, VisitSmithvilleTx.org or stop by the Chamber office for a printed copy. There’s even more going on with our members and throughout the community. Be sure to check the calendar on our website regularly so you don’t miss a thing. Thank you for all you do to make Smithville such a special place to live, work, and play.
With gratitude, Kathy Danielson, C.F.E.E., T.M.P. Executive Director Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce

Small Business Tip of the Month Take a Look at Your Business Through a Customer’s Eyes
Earlier this month, we challenged you to spend 10 minutes making sure your online business information was accurate. Now, take that checkup one step further. Search for your business online-just like a potential customer would. What shows up first? Are your best photos easy to find? Is it immediately clear
what you offer? Are there recent reviews? Does your website make it easy for someone to call, visit, shop, or learn more? You know your business inside and out. Your customers don’t. Make sure your online presence quickly answers their most important question: “Is this the business I’m looking for?” Chamber Tip: Ask someone who isn’t involved in your business to search for you online and tell you their first impression. A fresh set of eyes can spot things you may have overlooked.
The Chamber is excited to help promote our business member events! To have your events, sales, specials, and more included in our monthly Chamber Newsletter, simply email us at info@smithvilletx.org. Our newsletter is sent to all members and non-members, and the details may also be shared across our social media platforms. Let's get the word out and support each other! Also, be sure to add your events to the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce event calendar on our website. If you need assistance, contact us at 512-237-2313 or chamber@smithvilletx.org.
