The SMITH x HFF partnership runs deep and it runs strong. Since 2009, Smith has supported the HFF’s efforts to provide rehabilitation support to athletes with life-changing injuries and help them get back outdoors doing what they love. Whether it’s on snow, dirt, or water, Smith supports HFF’s adaptive ski, bike, fish and surf camps through out the year. Together they have been casting a net of safety over the outdoor sports for 16 years together, these collaborative products get individuals back to their communities using sport as the byproduct of enjoying the outdoors together.

Normally, our eye’s retina has trouble perceiving the difference between both blue and green light, as well as red and green light. ChromaPop™ lens technology integrates with our various lens tints and materials to filter these specific crossovers, allowing greater definition, natural color, and clarity.
Our proprietary blend of ChromaPop™ lens dyes & PhotoChromic technology is specially designed to perform in freezing temperatures. This all-new lens boasts a category shift from 1 to 3, or 55% -16% VLT. It happens two times faster than our previous PhotoChromic lens. And it’s made with a winter formulation designed to react to visible and UV light, not temperatures.

The VLT rating on Smith lenses shows how much light passes through them. The higher the VLT rating, the more light comes through that lens. Lower VLT rated lenses are good for bright, sunny days, whereas higher rated lenses are best in cloudy or low light situations.

SMITH MAG technology allows you to quickly adapt your lenses for any condition.
MAG technology allows you to quickly change lenses for any riding condition. Strong and weatherproof magnets guide the lens into the secure anchored position.
Once in position, the lens carrier provides a patent-pending dual locking mechanical engagement to secure the lens. With the Smith MAG’s two locking mechanisms, the lens stays locked tight for whatever the hill throws at you. A simple push of one lever at either side of the lens releases the lens for easy swapping as the light and conditions change.
Strong and weatherproof N52 magnets automatically guide the lens into the anchored position. The magnetic function speeds up lens changes to get you back out riding faster.
Plastic grips are carefully considered and designed at the corners of the lens for easy interchangeability while protecting the surface of the lens.

The Mips® safety system is designed to provide added safety for helmets in many accidents. For certain impacts, the Mips system can reduce harmful forces that might otherwise be transferred to the user’s head.
Traditional helmets are designed and tested for straight impacts, but most impacts are angled, which can cause rotational motion to the head.
The rotational motion can cause brain injuries.
Mips
The Low Friction Layer is intended to help reduce the rotational motion to the head in certain angled impacts.
The brain is typically more sensitive to rotational motion than linear motion because it has shear properties similar to water or gel. When different parts of the brain move relative to each other because of rotational motion, the tissues can stretch, which can cause concussions or other brain injuries.
Rotational motion is a common cause for concussions and more severe brain injury in oblique hits to the head. The Mips system consists of a low friction layer that is mounted inside the helmet. In a crash, the low friction layer is designed to move slightly inside the helmet to help redirect forces away from the head. This is intended to help reduce the risk of brain injury.
Most traditional helmets are designed for straight impacts, but most impacts are angled. The low friction layer may reduce the rotational force of angled impacts.
Unlike traditional helmets, which are mainly designed and tested for straight impacts, the Mips system’s low-friction layer mimics the brain’s own system for protection against rotational motion.
Our helmets are designed to perfectly align with out goggle frames. This alignment eliminates “gaper gap” and ensures proper ventilation to allow for fog-free lenses.
Ultimate integration starts with the precise fit of the Smith goggle and helmet. Our helmets are designed to match the curvature of the goggle frame, eliminating “gaper gap” and allowing precise alignment between the helmet AirEvac™ and the goggle venting systems.
Goggles fog when standard helmets trap warm, moist air in the goggle chamber. Smith’s AirEvac™ ventilation systems generate maximum airflow that pulls warm, fog-causing air out of the goggle. The warm air is allowed to exhaust out of the top of the goggle and begin its path through the helmet’s AirEvac™ system.
The warm air that originally built up in the goggle has been forced out via the AirEvac™ ventilation system, has traveled through the AirEvac™ EPS vent channels, and is now being exhausted at the furthest distance possible from the goggle. Ultimate integration between goggle and helmet from start to finish.

Temperature control is the most important feature when considering how to enjoy the entire day on the hill. Our Dual Regulator ventilation system independently controls the front and rear sections of the helmet’s venting, allowing you to moderate your body temperature even in extremely cold conditions. By exhausting heat through the rear vents while maintaining a sealed front end, your body can effectively cool down if needed and avoid the dreaded “ice cream headache.”
Adjustable, easy to use and extremely effective climate control, our low profile Regulator ventilation system allows you to modify the amount of airflow and heat exhaust even with a gloved hand.
Airflow ventilation utilizes strategically placed vents for easy climate control in all conditions.
