Recent study shows increase in teen gambling as sports betting gains popularity among students

Colts vs. Chargers. He picked wrong. “It just kept getting worse for me,” Rayner said. Rayner’s situation reflects a growing trend of teenage gambling, most recently researched by The New York State Office of Alcoholism and

Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). Their newest study shows that out of 5,800 students from the New York area, 10 percent experienced problem gambling in 2006. Another 72 percent had gambled in the past year.
