WILSHIRE BLVD Gary Adams was going to be a CEO. That was the plan, at least, when he entered college at the University of California, Davis. “Plans” are fickle things, though, and — fortunately for hundreds of dogs and cats — Adams’s plan changed. “I was always that kid who brought home wounded pigeons and stray dogs,” Adams said.“Ever since I was a little kid, people would say, ‘You should be a vet when you grow up.’” Though Adams “never gave it any thought” as a child, a college stint working for a veterinarian set him on the path that people had been suggesting for him for years. “I loved all the hands-on work. Police arrest trio for attempted murder BY DAILY PRESS STAFF MIDCITY Santa Monica police arrested three men early Saturday morning after witnessing one of them fire several shots into a vehicle near Colorado Avenue and 17th Street. The shooting took place as SMPD officers responded to a call regarding a fight in progress outside of a party. Police officials reported that, shortly after arriving on scene, they observed the shooter fire into a vehicle containing six

people before fleeing in a separate vehicle. As officers attempted to check on those in the car, it drove off. SMPD officers were able to locate the victims a short distance away, finding that none were struck by bullets. Offices were also able to stop the vehicle carrying the suspects not far from the crime scene. As officers tried to conduct the stop, two suspects exited the vehicle while the third attempted to drive off. He didn’t get far before SMPD personnel apprehended him.
